Abstract

Within this paper will be presented a result of passive sampler method to determine SO2 level of ambient air as the same method development to the previously determine NO2 level (1,2). The result of development had applied for analyzing and comparing the quality SO2 on ambient air at several cites in Asia such as Peking, Shanghai, Seoul, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, including several locations in surrounding Jakarta. This passive sampler method is simple and easy to be applied, therefore it make possible to monitor the air quality from urban till every border.

Abstract

The objective of the study is to explain the ground water impact of foundry industry activities in Ceper, Klaten Regency, Central Java Province. The result of this study shows that the tendency of some metal parameters (Fe, Mn and Pb) increases at water taken from some location artesian well or traditional well.Slags do not manage yet very well supposition ally causing the pollutant so that’s created opportunity to bring about the process leaching by the rain toward the inside metal components. Recommendation : In the future, the anticipate to expantion this industry is the slag manage very well through utilization exact and friendly environment technology.

Abstract

Sebagai tanaman komersial, padi memerlukan pemupukan terutama pupuk organik. Pemanfaatan pupuk kompos dari sampah kota sering mengandung logam berat, seperti Pb, Cu, Zn, dll. Pupuk kompos TPA Leuigajah memiliki kandungan timbal yang tinggi yaitu 215,68 ppm. Pb pada kompos dapat diserap oleh akar padi dan ditranslokasikan ke jaringan lain termasuk gabah. Pemberian pupuk hayati diharapkan mampu mengurangi akumulasi logam Pb pada jaringan tanaman padi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat potensi pupuk hayati Biocon-NP dan inokulasi bakteri dalam menghambat akumulasi Pb di jaringanpadi yang dipupuk dengan kompos sampah kota serta pengaruhnya terhadap produksi padi. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 7 perlakuan kombinasi antara pemberian pupuk hayati BIOCON-NP, isolat bakteri 11, dan isolat bakteri 39, dan 1 perlakuan kontrol. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan Biocon NP menghasilkan gabah kering panen paling tinggi yaitu 36,41 Kwt/ha, sedang produksi terendah adalah perlakuan Kontrol yaitu 26,38 Kwt/ha. Pb tidak ditemukan pada jaringan tanaman padi yang diberi perlakuan Biocon-NP. Dengan demikian pemberian pupuk hayatiBiocon NP sangat dianjurkan sebagai inokulum karena mampu menghambat akumulasi Pb dalam jaringan tanaman dari pupuk kompos sampah kota yang tercemar Pb, sekaligus dapat meningkatkan produksi padi.As a cash crop, rice requires fertilizers, particularly organic fertilizer for its optimum growth. Compost fertilizer from urban waste often contains heavy metals such as Pb, Cu, Zn, etc. For example, compost fertilizer from Leuwigajah Landfill contains high concentration of lead (Pb), i.e. 215.68 ppm. It is expected that the application of biofertilizer prevents Pb accumulation in rice tissues. This study investigates the potential of biofertilizer Biocon-NP and bacterial inoculations, to block Pb accumulation in rice plants fertilized with urban compost. A Randomized Complete Design with seven combination treatments of Biocon-NP, bacterial isolate 11 and bacterial isolate 39 is used. Control treatment is urban compost alone without Biocon-NP and bacterial inoculation. The results show that application of Biocon NP produces the highest dry grain yield, i.e. 36.41 quintal/ha. Control treatment gives the lowest yield of 26.38 quintal/ha. Pb is not detected in rice tissues of Biocon-NP treatments. These results show the potential of biofertilizer Biocon-NP in blocking Pb accumulation in plant tissues from landfill compost or Pb-polluted soil.

Abstract

Abstrak Ciguatera Fish Poisoning (CFP) dan fenomena Marak Alga Berbahaya (MAB) yang disebabkan oleh dinoflagellata bentik beracun merupakan salah satu bencana ekologi atau lingkungan yang dapat mengancam kesehatan manusia di kawasan pesisir Indonesia, seperti di kawasan Taman Wisata Perairan (TWP) Gili Matra yang terdiri dari 3 pulau yaitu Gili Meno, Air, dan Trawangan. TWP Gili Matra merupakan pusat wisata bahari dan kawasan konservasi laut di kawasan Nusa Tenggara Barat yang diketahui mengalami tekanan akibat aktivitas manusia dari kegiatan pariwisata dan perikanan yang berdampak negatif kepada ekosistem pesisir, terutama terumbu karang. Kondisi tersebut dapat meningkatkan kelimpahan komunitas dinoflagellata bentik beracun yang berpotensi menyebabkan terjadinya CFP dan MAB di TWP Gili Matra. Untuk itu diperlukan upaya mitigasinya agar risiko bencana ekologi CFP dan MAB dikemudian hari yang selain dapat menyebabkan terjadinya kerusakan ekosistem perairan TWP Gili Matra, tetapi juga kerugian ekonomi yang cukup besar, tidak terjadi. Menurut perhitungan ekonomi para ahli, nilai ekonomi kegiatan pariwisata di TWP Gili Matra, mencapai 26,86 triliun rupiah per tahun.  Salah satu upaya mitigasi bencana ekologi CFP dan MAB adalah dengan mengetahui kondisi lingkungan perairan di TWP Gili Matra pada musim hujan. Berdasarkan hasil survei diketahui kondisi biofisikakimia lingkungan perairan pada musim hujan bulan Desember 2022 dan Maret 2024 dalam keadaan yang sangat baik dengan tingkat eutrofikasi sebagai indikator kualitas lingkungan perairan pada tingkat ultraoligotrofik dengan nilai skor TSI (Trophic State Index) 12,9-19,4 (<30) yang mengindikasikan bahwa kesuburan perairan sangat rendah, air jernih, konsentrasi oksigen terlarut tinggi sepanjang tahun dan mencapai zona hipolimnion.   Abstract Ciguatera Fish Poisoning (CFP) and the phenomenon of Harmful Algal Bloom (HABs) caused by toxic benthic dinoflagellates are one of the ecological or environmental disasters that can threaten human health in coastal areas of Indonesia, such as in the Gili Matra Aquatic Tourism Park (ATP) area which consists of three islands, namely Gili Meno, Air, and Trawangan. ATP Gili Matra is a center for marine tourism and conservation areas in the West Nusa Tenggara region which is known to be under pressure due to human activities from tourism and fisheries activities that have a negative impact on coastal ecosystems, especially coral reefs. This condition can increase the abundance of toxic benthic dinoflagellate communities that have the potential to cause CFP and HABs in ATP Gili Matra. For this reason, mitigation efforts are needed so the risk of CFP and HABs ecological disasters in the future which can not only cause damage to the ATP Gili Matra aquatic ecosystem, but also significant economic losses, does not occur. According to economic calculations by experts, the economic value of tourism activities in ATP Gili Matra reaches IDR 26.86 trillion per year. One of the efforts to mitigate the ecological disaster of CFP and HABs is to understand the condition of the aquatic environment in ATP Gili Matra during the rainy season. Based on the survey results, it is known that the biophysical and chemical conditions of the aquatic environment during the rainy season in December 2022 and March 2024 are in very good condition with the level of eutrophication as an indicator of the quality of the aquatic environment at the ultraoligotrophic level with a TSI (Trophic State Index) score of 12.9-19.4 (<30) which indicates that water fertility is very low, the water is clear, the concentration of dissolved oxygen is high throughout the year and reaches the hypolimnion zone.
