Abstract

Expansion of infrastructure through the allocation of village funds to improve urban services is increasingly happening in all regions. Every year, the allocation of village funds through the APBN continues to increase. Allocation of village funds needs to be supported by proper preparation of proposals, including files that need to be completed. The understanding of village officials in the initial situation analysis shows that there is a lack of understanding in planning infrastructure activities, so there is a need for increased skills in reading and understanding technical drawings, making drawings with AutoCAD software tools, and calculating the volume of work. The fulfillment of technical drawings for village infrastructure work shows an increase in the capacity of Puloniti village officials in planning technical drawings using AutoCAD, complete with work volume calculations.

Abstract

The revitalization of urban heritage areas in Indonesia, exemplified by Panggung Street in Surabaya, faces multifaceted challenges encompassing the preservation of historical character, socio-economic enhancement, and the creation of inclusive public spaces. Current revitalization efforts often misalign with the area’s authentic features such as inappropriate facade treatments while neglecting accessibility for vulnerable groups and failing to foster effective collaboration among stakeholders. This study employs a descriptive qualitative case study approach, synthesizing field observations, in-depth interviews with local actors, comprehensive literature reviews, and precedent analyses of Braga Street in Bandung and heritage zones in Malacca. Data were analyzed using SWOT and root cause analysis to identify systemic barriers and leverage opportunities, while comparative-historical interpretation contextualized Surabaya’s urban identity. Triangulation ensured methodological rigor and validity. The research culminates in a holistic revitalization framework emphasizing three key strategies: restoration of authentic architectural features, including original colors and ornamentation, enhancement of inclusive infrastructure, such as accessible pedestrian pathways and universal signage and active community participation through workshops and cultural initiatives like the Kya-Kya night market. This integrated approach not only preserves the area’s historical integrity but also fosters social cohesion, economic vitality, and collective pride. The study demonstrates that combining heritage conservation with inclusive design principles can transform urban spaces into dynamic, accessible, and sustainable environments. The findings offer valuable insights for other Southeast Asian cities facing similar heritage revitalization challenges.

Abstract

Vocational High School (SMK) graduates contributed the most to the percentage of TPT (Open Unemployment Rate) as of August 2022 of 5.86% or 8.42 million people. The importance of increasing the involvement of partners in the world of work in designing and managing learning in vocational schools and developing the potential of students' abilities and expertise that are in line with opportunities to work in the world of work and/or entrepreneurship can reduce the TPT score. The results of direct observations at schools and confirmed based on the provisions of BSKAP 033/H/KR/2022, the learning achievements of students have not achieved their competencies in either phase E or F, namely regarding the ability to model 3D pictorial projections using BIM technology. The purpose of this PKM in the field of BIM applications is to improve students' skills in applying Building Information Modeling in achieving 3D modeling abilities and competencies. The empowerment method applied is in the form of training and mentoring of BIM applications in 3D modeling of construction buildings to improve the skills of partners related to drawing 3D building structures with BIM technology integrated with software. From the results of the initial and final assessment analysis, it was found that there was an increase in partner skills related to drawing 3D building structures with BIM technology integrated with software of ≥ 70% based on the performance of the 3D modeling simulation that was built after participating in the training as well as an increase in skills in creating informative construction design visualizations with software of ≥ 70%.

Abstract

It is impossible to resist the growth of building construction in the Mojokerto City and Regency as a PKN (National Activity Support) area. All parties involved, though, need to approach this objectively in order to ensure that building development continues to adhere to the RTRW and maintain user comfort, safety, and health. Therefore, the government has set up a licensing system through https://simbg.pu.go.id/ to facilitate building permits. Offering technical advice on building construction in the Mojokerto City and Regency region is the goal of this activity. The 12-month duration of this activity is set for January 2023 to December 2023. Publication in community service journals and community education initiatives on the PBG/SLF procedure are the anticipated results.

Abstract

Multi-story buildings have a risk of structural failure, especially at joint connections, including raft elements and shear walls, due to the interaction behavior of the shear joints. The problem raised in this research is how to analyze the performance of raft foundation shear wall structural connections in high-rise buildings. The researchers started by simulating the initial model using the element method to find out the detailed capabilities of the raft foundation and shear walls and obtain values that could measure the capabilities of the substructure used. The results of this research explain the results of the evaluation of connection performance, namely, the pile raft phase with fc' 35 MPa and the shear wall phase with fc' 50 MPa. From the analysis in this research, visualization from the ABAQUS program of the force conditions acting on the connection structure was obtained, namely compression damage of 0.0021 at an ultimate compressive stress of 43 MPa and 0.0006 at an ultimate compressive stress of 57.97 MPa. We also perform analytical calculations to determine the tensile and compressive strain values. In the future, it is hoped that it will be possible to make part of the reference the use of connections with similar models and sizes at project work stages with the same characteristics as a contribution to developing building structural safety requirements.

Abstract

Sedimentation in irrigation canals significantly reduces operational efficiency and agricultural productivity in tropical monsoon regions. This study applied three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to analyze sediment deposition patterns in the Pakal River affecting the Bareng Irrigation District, East Java, Indonesia. The integrated approach combined HEC-HMS watershed modeling with ANSYS Fluent CFD simulation to evaluate sedimentation under design flood conditions (20-year return period).Design discharge was determined as 30.4 m³/s using the Modified Haspers-Weduwen method. CFD simulation revealed severe deposition totaling 2,200 m³ per design event, distributed across four distinct zones driven by weir backwater effects, bend circulation, channel expansion, and insufficient transport velocity. Model validation demonstrated strong performance (NSE = 0.84 for velocity, 81% spatial agreement for deposition). A critical finding is that low design discharge creates widespread subcritical flow conditions, resulting in more severe deposition than higher flows. The validated methodology provides a replicable framework for evidence-based sediment management in resource-constrained irrigation systems across tropical regions, with broader applicability to climate adaptation planning and infrastructure resilience assessment.

Abstract

This service activity was motivated by the problem of inundation in the pond area in Plosobuden Village caused by the limited capacity of the river network and irrigation canals and the lack of spatial databases in its management. Conceptually, this service refers to a spatial-based water resource management approach (GIS-based water resource management) and community-based approach. The purpose of the service is to increase community capacity in identifying and managing inundation through GIS-based mapping of irrigation networks. The methods used include: (1) satellite image acquisition and interpretation, (2) digitization and mapping using QGIS, (3) channel and runoff capacity analysis, and (4) participatory training and mentoring. Evaluation indicators include: (a) increased community understanding measured through pre-test and post-test, and (b) participation level measured from participants' attendance and active involvement during service. The results showed the preparation of irrigation network maps and the identification of inundation critical points. Quantitatively, there was an increase in comprehension scores from the average from 42.7% to 80.3% of the total registered participants. These findings show that GIS integration and participatory approaches are effective in supporting community-based irrigation management
