Abstract

Efektivitas katalis padat berpori pada proses hidrokonversi dipengaruhi oleh ukuran molekul umpan dan ukuran butir katalis- Molekul umpan dan butir katalis, yang berukuran besar dapat menurunkan laju difusi umpan dari fase bulk ke dalam pori katalis sehingga efektivitas katalis tersebut menjadi rendah (F <1)- Penurunan energi aktivasi reaksi dengan katalis berukuran besar menunjukkan suatu indikasi adanya pengaruh laju diffusi umpan dari fase bulk ke dalam pori katalis tersebut.- Efektivitas katalis padat berpori dapat mendekati (F  1), jika kecepatan difusi umpan dari fase bulk ke dalam pori katalis lebih besar daripada kecepatan reaksi umpan pada inti-inti aktif katalis.
