Abstract

The prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding tends to decrease in general due to the desire of parents for rapid growth of their baby's weight, especially the promotion of formula milk which is increasingly intensive. Breast milk is the single best source of nutrition for babies because it contains Fats, Carbohydrates, proteins, Vitamins, Minerals, Water and natural protective substances that can protect babies against various diseases. Green beans are one of the lagtogogum plants that contain vitamin tiamin and polyphenols that can increase breast milk production.   The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving green bean juice on infant weight gain in breastfeeding mothers exclusively breastfed. Quasy experimental type of research with pretest and  post test design with nonequivalent control group design. The study was conducted from September to November 2020 in the Working Area of UPT Puskesmas Sebangar Bengkalis Regency with a population of 189 mothers having babies aged (0-6) months with a total sample of 32 people, purposive sampling technique. Giving green bean juice is done once a day as much as 300 ml for 14 consecutive days. Data processing using an independent sample t test. From the results of the study, the average weight gain of babies in the experimental group was 468.74 grams while the average weight gain of the control group babies was only 290.62 grams.  In the independent test of the t-test sample, a p value = 0.021 was obtained, where the p value of ≤ 0.05 Ha was received, meaning that there was an effect of giving mung bean juice on infant weight gain in breastfeeding mothers exclusively in the Working Area of UPT Sebangar Health Center, Bengkalis Regency. It is recommended that breastfeeding mothers can consume Green Bean Juice to help smooth milk production, so as to increase baby weight gain in exclusive breastfeeding mothers.

Abstract

Childbirth is a long process, 13-14 hours for primigravida mothers and 6-7 hours for multigravida mothers. In this situation, there are many changes and may cause stress. Neglecting this condition can negatively affect both parties. Mindfulness can help with anxiety in this study. Focusing on the present moment, environment, and activities around you is known as mindfulness. This study aims to determine how effective the use of audio is to reduce anxiety in pregnant women before labor through the relationship of self-awareness between mother and fetus. This study uses a pre-experiment method before and after the experiment in a one-group design. With the total sampling technique, the study population consisted of 21 pregnant women. TM III was conducted in the working area of Rejosari Health Center in July 2024. The Pregnancy Anxiety Scale questionnaire and audio recording were used as media. The results of the two mean difference test analyses showed that the anxiety level of respondents before the self-awareness intervention was 26.76 and after the intervention was 22.38, with a p-value of 0.000. This means that mindfulness activities using audio helped lower the anxiety of pregnant women before giving birth.

Abstract

Anemia in pregnancy is a national health problem that seriously impacts both the mother and the fetus. Based on the incidence of anemia in pregnancy in Alam Panjang Village, Kampar Regency, data from the Iliran Community Health Center showed that 20 pregnant women with Hb <11 g% were recorded in 2022, 22 in 2023, and 25 in 2024. One way to overcome anemia is by consuming red dragon fruit, which is high in iron. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of red dragon fruit (Hylocereus polyrhizus) on increasing Hb levels in third trimester pregnant women in Alam Panjang Village, Kampar Regency. This study was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design using a One Group Pre-test and Post-test Design. The study was conducted in January 2025. The study population consisted of 16 pregnant women. The sampling technique was total sampling. The research instrument used an observation sheet. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods. The results showed that the average Hb level before the intervention was 9.29 g/dL, with the majority being in the mild anemia category (93.8%). After the intervention, the average Hb level increased to 10.88 g/dL. Bivariate analysis showed that 10 respondents experienced an increase in Hb levels, while 6 respondents experienced no change. The Wilcoxon test showed a p- value of 0.005 (α=0.05), indicating a significant effect of red dragon fruit supplementation on increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women in the third trimester. It is hoped that the results of this study can serve as a reference for health workers in providing nutrition education and natural interventions to prevent and treat anemia in pregnant women. Keywords         : Anemia, Hb Levels, Red Dragon Fruit

Abstract

Visits of toddlers to integrated health posts (Posyandu) are a vital effort to monitor child growth and development. However, the frequency of these visits remains suboptimal in several areas, including Posyandu Anyelir in Pantai Cermin Village, Kampar Regency. This study aimed to determine the influence of knowledge, attitude, support from health workers, the role of health cadres, and family support on toddler visits to Posyandu. A quantitative method with a cross-sectional design was applied, involving 92 mothers of toddlers as respondents. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that all variables had a significant relationship with the activeness of Posyandu visits: knowledge (p=0.000; OR=4.590–96.073), attitude (p=0.003; OR=1.565–10.222), support from health workers (p=0.001; OR=1.923–12.124), the role of cadres (p=0.000; OR=4.755–37.559), and family support (p=0.001; OR=1.923–12.124). It can be concluded that all these factors significantly influence the activeness of toddler visits to Posyandu. Educational interventions, strengthening the roles of cadres and health workers, and involving the family are essential strategies to increase community participation in Posyandu activities. Kata Kunci : Toddler visits, Posyandu, knowledge, attitude, family support

Abstract

Balanced nutrition is an important factor in the growth and development of toddlers. Low maternal knowledge about balanced nutrition can affect the selection and preparation of food that is not appropriate for children. Audiovisual media is considered an effective health education method because it combines audio and visual elements, making information easier to understand and remember. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of health education using audiovisual media on mothers’ knowledge of balanced nutrition for toddlers at Posyandu Cemara Karya Indah, in the working area of UPT Puskesmas Pantai Cermin. This research was quantitative with a quasi-experimental design and a pretest-posttest with control group approach. The sample consisted of 46 respondents, divided into intervention and control groups, with 23 people in each group, selected using purposive sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire on knowledge about balanced nutrition. Data analysis was carried out using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test and the mann-whitney with a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that the average knowledge score of the control group was 62,22, while the intervention group, which was given health education using audiovisual media, had an average score of 82.61. The mean difference between the two groups was 20.39 points. Statistical testing showed a p-value = 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. In conclusion, health education using audiovisual media is effective in increasing mothers’ knowledge about balanced nutrition for toddlers. It is recommended that health centers integrate audiovisual media into routine health education activities, and that future researchers conduct long-term measurements to assess behavioral change. Keywords: Balanced nutrition, health education, audiovisual media, toddlers
