Abstract

Introduction: Block system learning requires students to learn independently and achieve predetermined achievements. Students are required to be able to adapt quickly to this situation, so as to cause various mental and emotional changes, the problem is not all students are ready to accept change. More rigorous changes and academic competition will have an impact on decreasing learning motivation which affects student learning outcomes. Hypnotherapy is a psychological therapy that uses hypnosis methods with certain techniques to deal with psychological problems. Objective: This study was conducted to determine the effect of hypnotherapy on learning motivation and student achievement index.Method: Experimental research design with pre and post approach group with control group design. Sampling used purposive sampling, the number of samples was 70. The intervention group received therapy once a week for 4 weeks. The motivation was measured before and after treatment with a questionnaire.Result: The average score of the learning motivation is 6.8 and the average value of the achievement index difference is 0.099 with a P value of 0.001. Discussion: The results of this test provide an overview in the intervention group, that there is a significant increase in the value of learning motivation and achievement index in students. Conclusion: Hypnotherapy can be used as reference material to become an alternative therapy to overcome students' psychological problems.

Abstract

Introduction: Data from the Kidney Foundation Diatrans Indonesia stated that the number of patients with renal failure in Indonesia is estimated to increase 4,400 patients each year. One of the adverse effects of chronic kidney disease is the disorder of blood filtration. Interventions applicable to patients with impaired filtration include hemodialysis therapy. Complications that often occur in patients undergoing hemodialysis are hemodynamic disorders, especially blood pressure to drop or intradialytic hypotension. Objective: This study aims to review some literature on the effect of ultrafiltration rate on blood pressure of patients with chronic kidney disease who undergo hemodialysis. Method: Journal article search is done electronically using multiple databases:  PubMed database, Google Scholar, Science Direct and Mendeley from January 2007 to November 2017. Keywords used were "Ultrafiltration / Ultrafiltration rate", "Blood Pressure", "intradialytic intradialytic / intradialytic hypertension", "Hemodialysis", "Chronic Kidney Disease / CKD" to obtain three articles for review. Result: Ultrafiltration rate can be expressed as having an effect on blood pressure in a hemodialysis patient. Discussion: When hemodialysis, ultrafiltration is done to attract excess fluid in the blood. The amount of fluid secreted during hemodialysis can affect the drop in blood pressure due to a decrease in the volume of blood being pumped. This is related to the reduced volume of strokes produced by the heart. Conclusions: Ultrafiltration rate affects the blood pressure of patients undergoing hemodialysis.

Abstract

Background: Diabetic foot ulcer will cause a reduction in quality of life (QOL), high care burden, and even mortality. An assessment of QOL and associated factors in patients with diabetic foot ulcer is important to provide evidence for establishing a care plan program for such patients. However, up to the present, there is no evidence of a published study that investigates the QOL and its associated factors in patients with diabetic foot ulcer in Indonesia.Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the QOL in patients with diabetic foot ulcer in each domain and investigate the factors associated with this condition. Methods: The design of this study was a cross-sectional study. The total sample for this study was 55 patients. The QOL data were collected using a Diabetic Foot Ulcer Scale questionnaire. Statistical analyses were conducted using Mann-Whitney U-test and Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: The result showed that the QOL in the domains of emotions, positive compliance, family life, and friend were high, while the QOL in the domains of daily activities, physical health, leisure, finances, positive attitude, and treatment ranged from low to average. Significant differences were found between income (p=0.004), grade of the wound (p=0.047), number of wounds (p=0.029), and blood glucose (p=0.013) with QOL of patients. Other variables did not have a significant relationship with QOL, but marital status had a significant correlation with the domain of leisure (p=0.004) and duration of the ulcer had a significant correlation with the domain of emotions (p=0.001)Conclusion: There is a correlation between income, grade of the wound, the number of wounds, and blood glucose with QOL of patients with a diabetic foot ulcer. This study recommends to take into account economic status, grade and number of wound, and blood glucose level in order to improve the QOL of patients for an effective patient care plan.

Abstract

Background: Pain is a common problem in patients undergoing surgery. The constant postoperative acute pain can affect the physiological and psychological aspects of the patient. Objective: Non-pharmacological therapy is widely used for the treatment of chronic pain. Non-pharmacological therapy needs to be developed in acute postoperative pain due to concerns about the side effects of pharmacological treatment. There is non-pharmacological management that effectively reduces pain intensity, namely hypnotherapy. Methods: The systematic search for this review used the Google Scholar database, Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ), ProQuest, and PubMed using keywords (Hypnosis OR Hypnotism OR Hypnoanalysis OR Hypnotherapy OR Hypnotherapies OR Mesmerism) AND (Post-surgical Pain OR Post surgical Pain OR Postsurgical Pain OR Post-operative Pain OR Post operative Pain OR Post-operative Pains OR Postoperative Pain OR Acute Postoperative Pain OR Acute Post-operative Pain OR Acute Post operative Pain). The quality of journals was assessed using the Critical Appraisal Skills Program (CASP) instrument. The synthesis method used was narrative synthesis (narrative synthesis). Results: 10 articles were fully reviewed from 2010-2020. The visualization technique with rapid conversational induction has the best effect than other techniques. The most effective way of conveying suggestions is indirect with a permissive approach. The study results showed that hypnotherapy tended to reduce postoperative pain in minor surgical procedures than in major surgeries. Conclusion: Hypnotherapy affects reducing the pain intensity of postoperative patients. The results of this study recommend that hypnotherapy suggestions and pain measures must be tailored to the patient's condition.
