Abstract

The relaxation therapy (rose aromatherapy) is one of hypertension therapy. The objective of this research was to analyze influence of relaxation therapy (rose aromatherapy) towards blood pressure changes. The design was queasy experiment. The population was elderly with hypertension, the samples were 44 respondents using purposive sampling technique. The research variable was blood pressure. Data was collected using mercury sphygmomanometer, to determine the influence of relaxation therapy (rose aromatherapy). The analysis  using paired sample t-test and independent t-test with significant level α<0.05. The result showed that systolic and diastolic of blood pressure decreased significantly (p=systolic=0.000 and p=diastolic=0.000). Relaxation therapies (rose aromatherapy) for 10 minutes could decrease systolic of blood pressure and diastolic of blood pressure, with mean value decreasing systolic and diastolic were 10.63 mmHg and 10.18 mmHg and maximal value of  decreasing systolic and diastolic were 28.00 mmHg and 20 , 00 mmHg. The conclusion of this research is there was a significant influence of relaxation therapy (rose aromatherapy) towards blood pressure changes to the elderly with hypertension.

Abstract

Background    : Perception of the patients to wards the official nurse to apprentice nurse is influenced by an environment factor namely therapeutic communication, it is done by  the nurse. The objective of this research  is to analyze the difference perception of the  patient to therapeutic communication between the official nurse and apprentice nurse in medical surgical ward of class III Baptis Hospital Kediri. Method            : This research was analytic comparation. The sample was all patients who taking care in medical surgical ward of class III who meet inclusion criterias. The number of the respondents were 58 using purposive sampling  technique. The research used single variable, that was perception of the patients to therapeutic communication. Conclusion      : The conclusion of this research that was no difference perception of the patients to the therapeutic communication between the job Holder nurse with the contract officer nurse in Adult Room of Class III in Baptis Hospital Kediri.

Abstract

Menstruation is a process when the uterus is cleaned, so that it will be ready for the next reproductive cycle. One of the menstruation disorders is dysmenorrhea. Dysmenorrhea is a lower-sectional abdominal pain that appears before or during menstruation. There are still many teenage girls who overcome dysmenorrhea by using analgetic, and have never received information about the treatment of dysmenorrhea. The purpose of this study is to know whether health education affects the level of knowledge of teenage girl about treating dysmenorrhea using warm compress at St. Augustinus Catholic High School Kediri. The design of this study was pre-experimental study using one group pre-post test design. The population of this study were third year teenage girls at senior high school (class XII) who experienced dysmenorrhea during menstruation at St. Augustinus Catholic High School Kediri. The sample of this study were 30 respondents, using purposive sampling techniques. The independent variable of this study is health education and the dependent variable is the level of knowledge. The data collection was carried out using questionnaires. Data then analyzed using Wilcoxon test with significant α<0.05. The results showed that the level of knowledge about treating dysmenorrhea using warm compress increased after health education, as evidenced by the results of the wilcoxon statistical test where p=0.000. In conclusion, there is an influence of health education on the level of knowledge of teenage girl about treating  dysmenorrhea using compress at St. Augustinus Catholic High School Kediri.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Bullying di lingkungan sekolah masih menjadi masalah yang dapat merugikan perkembangan mental dan sosial siswa. Sehingga diperlukan langkah preventif untuk menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang aman dan mendukung. Tujuan: Memberikan penguatan pengetahuan siswa mengenai bullying, serta nilai-nilai toleransi, empati, dan saling menghormati di SDN Asmorobangun 02 Kabupaten Kediri. Metode: Metode yang dipilih pengabdi yaitu siswa diberikan pemahaman tentang bullying, jenis – jenis bullying serta dampak terhadap korban dan pelaku bullying serta konsep dan pentingnya sekolah ramah anak. Dalam simulasi bersama kelompok, siswa diajarkan tentang komunikasi yang efektif dan penyelesaian konflik untuk membekali siswa dengan kemampuan dalam membangun hubungan yang positif dengan teman sebaya. Hasil: Kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan pengetahuan, dimana sebagian besar anak memiliki pengetahuan cukup yaitu sebesar 20 siswa (71,43%). Siswa di yang memiliki pengetahuan baik dan kurang sebesar 4 siswa yaitu 14,29%. Siswa di SDN Asmorobangun 02 Kabupaten Kediri dapat memahami dan mampu menjawab pertanyaan  baik lisan maupun tertulis, selain itu, siswa dapat memahami tentang pentingnya empati dan toleransi yang nantinya dapat mengurangi tindakan bullying dan menciptakan hubungan yang lebih sehat antar teman di sekolah. Kesimpulan: Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam menciptakan sekolah yang lebih inklusif, aman, dan nyaman bagi seluruh siswa, serta mendorong terciptanya lingkungan yang mendukung perkembangan karakter siswa yang positif.

Abstract

Background: Elderly people often experience problems related to their cognitive function that will interfere with their quality of life; therefore, family support is needed for the elderly. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between family support and cognitive function and quality of life of the elderly in RW 02, Bangsal Village, Kediri City. Method: Research Design correlation with cross-sectional. Independent variables with family support and dependent variables are cognitive function and quality of life. The elderly population in RW 2 Bangsal Village was taken using a purposive sampling technique by producing a sample of 62 respondents. The measuring instrument used a questionnaire, namely family support, cognitive function using the MMSE questionnaire, and the quality of life of the elderly using the OPQOL Brief questionnaire. Data analysis using the Spearman rho statistical test and the ANOVA test. Results: The results of the study showed that most elderly people had good family support, as many as 49 (79%). Elderly people experienced cognitive dysfunction with a percentage of moderate cognitive impairment as many as 18 (33.9%) and severe cognitive impairment as many as 22 (30.6%). Most elderly people had a good quality of life, which was as many as 53 (85.1%). The results of statistical tests for the relationship between family support and cognitive function showed p = 0.019 with a correlation coefficient of 0.298, and the results of statistical tests for the relationship between family support and quality of life showed p = 0.001 with a correlation coefficient of 0.402. In the ANOVA test, p = 0.042 was obtained for cognitive function; in quality of life, the data was not homogeneous. Conclusion: There is a relationship between family support and cognitive function and also quality of life in the elderly at the Elderly Posyandu RW 02, Bangsal Village, Pesantren District, Kediri City. When the family provides support, there will be a difference in cognitive function and quality of life in the elderly. The better the family support, the less likely the elderly will enter cognitive disorders and the better quality of life they will have.

Abstract

Pada masa sekolah inilah anak usia 6-12 tahun mulai diperkenalkan tentang pentingnya gender. Perkembangan anak banyak dibicarakan bahwa dasar kepribadian seseorang terbentuk pada masa anak-anak. Banyak faktor yang dapat menjadi penyebab anak mengalami gangguan emosi berupa perilaku menyimpang. Faktor penyebab tersebut berasal dari anak sendiri dan dapat juga dari lingkungannya. Sehingga anak perlu mengetahui pentingnya perbedaan secara karateritik jenis kelamin mereka atau gender mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan terhadap pengetahuan tentang organ reproduksi guna mengetahui identitas diri pada anak di SDN Asmorobangun 02 Kediri. Design penelitian yang digunakan adalah analitik. Populasi penelitian yaitu semua anak usia sekolah usia 7-8 tahundi SDN Asmorobangun o2 Kediri. Tehnik sampling penelitian yang digunakan total sampling, besar sampel yakni sebanyak 28 responden. Variabel independent adalah Pendidikan Kesehatan, sedangkan Variabael Dependen Pengetahuan. Uji Analisis yang digunakan adalah Spearman Rho. Hasil penelitian didapatkan sebelum diberikan Pendidikan Kesehatan adalah 50% pengetahuan kurang sebanyak 14 responden (50%), sedangkan setelah diberikan Pendidikan Kesehatan didapatkan Sebagian besar pengetahuan baik sebanyak 20 responden (71,4%). Hasil analisis di dapatkan P= 0,000 yang artinya ada pengaruh yang sangat sifnifikan dengan diberikan Pendidikan Kesehatan terhadap pengetahuan pada anak. Hasil penelitian ini, menunjukkan bahwa dengan diberikan informasi makan mampu memberikan informasi dan mengubah Tingkat pengetahuan mereka.

Abstract

The increasing number of elderly from year to year has an impact on increasing the accompanying degenerative diseases. In addition, the elderly tend to be at risk for emotional changes and even at risk for depression which can have an impact on disruption of daily activities (Kelliat (1996) in Yuli (2014). Activity needs are basic needs because they cover self-care needs which include: bathing, dressing, going to the toilet, transferring, continence, and eating (Tamher, Noorkasiani, 2009). Based on WHO data (2007), it shows that psychosocial factors in elderly are problems that are very burdensome for their lives, which in turn affect physical, social and mental disorders. Some of these conditions can affect activity daily living. Where is the main activity for self-care which includes: bathing, dressing, going to the toilet, transferring, continence, and eating (Tamher, Noorkasiani, 2009). The objective of this study was to identify the level of independence of the elderly in carrying out daily living activities at Panti Wredha St. Yoseph Kediri. The design used in this research was descriptive. The population was the elderly at Panti Wredha St. Yoseph Kediri. The samples were 30 respondents with a purposive sampling technique. The independent variable was a description of the level of independence in carrying out daily living activities. The results showed that there was elderly’s independence level in carrying out daily living activities, namely light dependence as many as 11 people (68.8%) and moderate dependence 5 people (31.3%). In conclusion, elderly’s independence level in carrying out ADL at Panti Wredha St. Yoseph Kediri, namely light- moderate dependence.

Abstract

Introduction: Thalassemia is a severe disease affecting many school-aged children, characterized by symptoms such as weakness and paleness due to low hemoglobin levels. These children often require routine blood transfusions, which can lead to several side effects impacting their quality of life. Generally, the quality of life for school-aged children with thalassemia is lower than that of their healthy peers. Family support is one factor that can influence the quality of life of children with thalassemia. This study investigated the relationship between family support and quality of life in school-aged children with thalassemia at Immanuel Way Halim Hospital, Bandar Lampung.Methods: The research design was descriptive-analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The sample included all school-aged thalassemia patients in the Edelweiss Hospital room at Immanuel Way Halim, totaling 28 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with inclusion criteria being school-aged thalassemia patients (ages 7 to 18 years) who could communicate well. Data analysis was conducted using the Chi-square test.Results: The results indicated that 19 respondents (67.9%) had positive family support, and 14 (50%) had a high quality of life. Statistical analysis showed a p-value of 0.027 (<0.05).Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between family support and the quality of life of children with thalassemia in the Edelweiss Hospital room at Immanuel Way Halim, Bandar Lampung.
