Abstract

The Broiler chicken farms partnership patern have been spread widely throughout Indonesia, including in  Kampar District,Riau Province. Commonly, there are two the broiler chicken farms partnership patterns in Kampar District,namely the contract system and and semi- contract system between the broiler farmer and poultry companies or poultry shop. The contract system is a binding agreements between the parties relating to the both of the input production’s price and the arvesting’s price, while the semi-contract are not bound in term of both of the input production’s price and the arvesting’s price. The objective of the study is analyzed comparison of broiler chicken farm income between contracts system and semi-contract system. The study conducted in Kampar Districtby using survey method for 40 broiler chicken farmer. The results of study shows that the average net income of the broiler farmer on the contract system is lower than the semi contrct system, which is IDR  13.910.273,61for compared to IDR 21.387.673,94. The semi contract broiler chicken farm business is more efficient (RCR=1.12) compared to the contract system (RCR=1.08). Keywords:  Cost,  Income, Contract System, Semi Contract

Abstract

Hydroponics is one of the cultivation technologies that is able to produce products with good quality. The specialty of hydroponic vegetables has attracted consumers to consume these products so that demand arises. This study aims to (1) analyze the factors that affect the demand for hydroponic vegetables in Pekanbaru City, and (2) analyze the elasticity of hydroponic vegetable demand in Pekanbaru City. The study was conducted in 4 modern markets spread across Pekanbaru City with a total sample of 40 respondents with purposive sampling method. The analysis used in the study was multiple linear log regression analysis. The results showed that (1) factors that significantly affect the demand for hydroponic vegetables are the price of hydroponic vegetables, household income, consumer knowledge, and lifestyle with a coefficient of determination (R2) value of 86.60 percent.  (2) The demand for hydroponic vegetables is inelastic to the price of the goods themselves, the price of other goods, and income so that hydroponic vegetables include normal goods and substitutions.

Abstract

Salah satu komoditi hortikultura yang semakin diminati adalah buah semangka. Buah semangka selain rasanya yang menyegarkan juga memiliki banyak khasiat untuk kesehatan. Diharapkan kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dan motivasi masyarakat dalam pengembangan usaha pengolahan semangka yang mampu meningkatkan pendapatan petani semangka.. Dalam melakukan usahatani semangka di Kecamatan Rumbai Timur, persoalan yang sering terjadi terkait dengan harga komoditas buah-buahan yang sering mengalami fluktuasi. Hal ini merupakan salah satu resiko yang dapat menyebabkan terjadinya kerugian petani. Berkaitan dengan itu diperlukan uluran tangan dari Perguruan Tinggi sesuai dengan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi yaitu pengabdian masyarakat dengan upaya untuk mendidik dan melatih masyarakat sesuai kebutuhan daerah agar menguasai ketrampilan praktis dalam pengolahan daging buah semangka menjadi es krim (velva). Velva merupakan frozen dessert yang mempunyai kadar lemak yang jauh lebih rendah dari es krim. Tingkat ketercapaian sasaran program dilihat dari kemampuan peserta dalam mempraktekkan pengolahan semangka menjadi selai semangka yang dapat dikonsumsi dengan citarasa yang disukai masyarakat.

Abstract

Tebing Tinggi Village in Benai District, Kuantan Singingi Regency is one of the rice farming centers in the region. In 2023, rice production in this village decreased to 480.00 kg from 589.26 kg in 2022. This study was conducted on 30 farmers who cultivated the Cisokan rice variety, using the Cobb-Douglas analytical model processed with SPSS version 23. The objectives of the study were to identify the characteristics of rice farmers, and evaluate the economic efficiency of rice farming in Tebing Tinggi Village. The results showed that most farmers were aged between 40 and 60 years (96.7%), had farming experience ranging from 15 to 27.5 years (66.7%), had an elementary school level of education (53.4%), and an average household size of three members (43.4%). Furthermore, the efficiency analysis showed that all production factors used were not yet economically efficient, as indicated by an efficiency index value greater than 1. Therefore, the use of improved seeds, urea fertilizer, and labor needs to be increased to achieve economic efficiency. Technical efficiency is achieved when input use maximizes output, while allocative efficiency is reached when the marginal value product equals the input price. Economic efficiency is attained when both technical and allocative efficiencies are met.

Abstract

Pineapple is one of the leading commodities of the Indonesian horticultural sub-sector which has been known around the world and has the potential to be used as a mainstay export commodity in international trade. This research aims to analyze the competitiveness and factors that affect Indonesian pineapple exports in the international market. The analytical methods used are quantitative methods, namely estimation of competitiveness and factors that affect Indonesia's pineapple exports in several destination countries using Export Product Dynamic (EPD), multiple linear regression analysis, and classic assumption deviation tests. Indonesia's pineapple export destinations are Bahrain, Japan, Kuwait, Qatar, Singapore, and United Arab Emirates. Based on the estimated export product dynamic index (EPD) shows that the Indonesian pineapple export destination market position has strong competitiveness and occupies a Rising Star position so that it can continue to maintain its marketing, then occupy the position of Retreat then not potentially export due to the decrease in export share and declining export demand compared to competitive countries, namely Thailand and the Philippines. Then, based on the estimated multiple linear regression it is shown that Indonesian pineapple price to US dolar has a significant effect on Indonesian pineapple export volume, while Indonesian pineapple productivity and Indonesian pineapple export value have no significant effect on Indonesian pineapple export volume.

Abstract

Semangka sebagai salah satu produk hortikultura yang berkembang di Kota Pekanbaru. Kecamatan Rumbai Timur merupakan salah satu sentra produksi semangka yang ada di Kota Pekanbaru tepatnya di Kelurahan Sei Ambang. Sebagai sentra produksi semangka yang pada waktu panen sering mengalami banjir panen dan banyaknya buah semangka berukuran kecil, diperlukan informasi bagaimana pengolahan semangka sehingga petani tidak mengalami kerugian yang besar dengan memanfaatkan semangka yang tidak terjual. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan selama 3 (tiga) bulan mulai dari bulan Mei 2023 sampai dengan bulan Juli 2023 yang  mulai dari  persiapan, pelaksanaan pelatihan dan pelaporan. Kesimpulan: (1) Teknologi pengolahan kulit semangka menjadi selai dan manisan merupakan proses pembuatan yang relatif mudah sehingga memotivasi kelompok tani semangka untuk mencoba mengembangkannya; (2) Pengolahan semangka ampera yang berukuran kecil dan biasanya tidak laku dijual dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah dan penghasilan petani semangka sekaligus mengurangi limbah dan (3) Kendala dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan adalah kesibukan anggota kelompok tani tetapi melalui kerjasama dengan Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan hal ini dapat diatasi. Tingkat ketercapaian sasaran pelatihan dapat dilihat dari kemampuan peserta mempraktekkan pengolahan kulit semangka menjadi produk selai dan manisan yang dapat dikonsumsi dengan citarasa yang disukai masyarakat.
