Abstract

This study aims to produce mathematics learning tools for maximum and minimum value material based on van Hiele's theory with the help of Geogebra and to determine the quality of learning tools based on validity, practicality and effectiveness. The development model used is the Generic EDR model by Mckenney and Reeves with five stages, namely (1) analysis-exploration, (2) design-construction, (3) evaluation-reflection, (4) preparation of theoretical interpretation-intervention and (5) implementation. The results showed that the average RPP validation score was 4.46, the average LKPD validation score was 4.23, and the THB validation average score was 4.46, with a very good category that met the valid criteria. The teacher and student response questionnaire results, show an average value of 4.33 and 4.29, indicating that the design of learning devices is categorized as very practical. Moreover, the percentage of student learning outcomes test completeness is 90.32. This shows that the design of learning devices is categorized as very effective. Therefore, based on the trial results, the learning device designs developed meet valid, practical and effective criteria

Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematics learning activities during the co-19 pandemic and after the co-19 pandemic at SMP N 5 Tondano. Approximately 2 years of the brave learning process was carried out, which might make students experience problems in terms of ethics or attitude because while learning, the brave teacher also lacks in supervising students' attitudes and behaviour, so with this change in learning, the difference is very visible. This research is qualitative descriptive research. Data was collected using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that students' mathematics learning activities during the transition/post-covid-19 pandemic were going well at school following the schedule of learning activities the school had prepared. However, students' mathematics lessons are less effective in the process. This is evidenced by observational data, which shows: 1) Teachers are less creative using various learning models, 2) Students do not respond to learning, 3) Students lack interest in mathematics, 4) Students are not actively involved in learning, and 5) Courageous learning that takes so long results in students being very dependent on the internet network. This resulted in the teacher experiencing several obstacles in the students' mathematics learning activities attractively. It can be interpreted that students' mathematics learning activities at SMP N 5 Tondano during the transition/post-covid-19 pandemic were less effective due to courageous learning activities.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of learning from learning material on a system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV) based on the learning outcomes of students at SMP Negeri 2 Kotamobagu. This research is descriptive in nature and employs a quantitative methodology. The participants in this research were Mathematics teachers and seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Kotamobagu for the academic year 2021/22. The purpose of this study is to determine the efficacy of risky learning on the mathematics topic of the two-variable linear equations (SPLDV) system. This research's data acquisition occurred in March 2021. Data on student learning outcomes and teacher and student responses to the implementation of courageous learning were included in this study. This study's data were collected via written examinations, questionnaires, and interviews. 1) the effectiveness of learning mathematics subject material on a system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV) in terms of effective student learning outcomes and included in the very high effectiveness criteria with a percentage of 95%; 2) student responses to courageous learning of the mathematics subject system of two-variable linear equations (SPLDV) are excellent or practical with a percentage of 100% as well as responses from teachees.Effectiveness of courageous learning in mathematics

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' errors in working on the System of Two Variable Linear Equations using the Newman procedure at SMP Negeri 1 Tondano. The research approach is a collective case study approach with a critical paradigm. Data was collected through interviews, written tests, observation, and documentation. In contrast, data analysis techniques include data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results obtained were (1) There was an error in the second stage of the Newman error procedure: students needed to understand all the questions the researcher gave. (2) In the Transformation section or the third stage in the Newman error procedure, students have not been able to convert the information obtained from the questions into a mathematical model (3) In the Process Skills section or the fourth stage, most students have not been able to work on the questions with good processing skills ( 4) then in the Answer Writing section there are primarily students who make mistakes when writing the final answer, where students do not write conclusions.

Abstract

This research is a development research which aims to produce learning tools on the subject of Cubes and Blocks in class VII SMP with a realistic mathematics approach. The procedure used in this study refers to the Thiagarajan learning device development model (4-D Model) which is modified to 3-D. This research was conducted with limited trials so it needs to be developed to measure validity, effectiveness and practicality. The results of this research show that the learning tools include LKPD, THB and RPP according to valid criteria, so they can be used in learning outcomes tests, namely; 40.7% with a standard deviation of 11.64% from the ideal score of 100, with 32 students, student and teacher activities tend to be positive, student responses to learning tools tend to be positive, active and creative. From the results of the research above, it can be concluded that by using Comparative Learning Materials Based on a Realistic Mathematics Approach for class VII students at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano, students' readiness and understanding in the learning process can develop well.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out what types of errors students can make in solving mathematics Olympiad questions based on Newman's criteria and their causes. The method used by the author is a qualitative descriptive research method. The results of the research are: the errors made were the criteria for errors in understanding the questions (Comprehension Error), transformation errors (Transform Error), process skill errors (Process Skill) and errors in drawing conclusions (Encoding Error). The causes are: 1) lack of understanding or not understanding the meaning of the question. 2) not being careful in working on the questions. 3) don't understand how to process the information obtained from the questions. 4) students experience forgetting factors. 5) students cannot determine what formula to use in solving the problem. 6) don't know how to solve the existing problems. 7) less skilled in completing operations in mathematics. 8) rush. 9) students are lazy in solving existing problems and focus on solving other problems. 10) processing time has expired.

Abstract

This research aims to improve students' understanding of mathematical concepts in Comparative material by using the Realistic Mathematics Education approach, in this case there is an increase in learning outcomes before being given treatment and after being given Realistic Mathematics Education treatment on the average value. The type of research used is experimental research, and the research design used is The One Shot Case Study Design. This research was carried out at SMP Negeri 3 Tondano. The research subjects were 30 students of class VII B as an experimental class who were treated with a Realistic Mathematics Education approach. The average posttest result for the experimental class was 84.13. The results of hypothesis testing using the t-test concluded that the average learning outcomes of students who were taught using the Realistic Mathematics Education approach were higher than the average learning outcomes of students who were not taught using the Realistic Mathematics Education approach.

Abstract

This research aims to find out whether the mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the STAD cooperative learning model are higher than the mathematics learning outcomes of students using the lecture method. This research is quasi-experimental in the form of the nonequivalent posttest-only control group design. The subjects in this research were class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Tutuyan odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, where VIII-A, totaling 20 students, was the experimental class and VIII-B, totaling 21 students, was the control class. Data analysis used includes normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests. This research uses a test in the form of multiple choice questions and a description of relationship and function material as the instrument. The research participants consisted of 41 students. Based on hypothesis testing using the t-test statistic, tcount = 2.365 and ttable = 1.685 at a significance level of 0.05. Thus, because tcount > ttable, H0 is rejected. The results of the research concluded that student learning outcomes in the Relationships and Functions material taught using the STAD model were higher than student learning outcomes taught using the lecture method.
