Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the effect of addition of xylanase enzymes in the diet with different levels of crude fiber on broiler performance. Materials used in this study were 100 broiler finisher 21 days of age and  unsexed. The method using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and each treatment was repeated 4 times. The treatment given was to use different levels of bran then be added as much as 0.01% xylanase enzyme for each kilogram of bran. Statistical analysis showed that the addition of xylanase in the feed with different levels of fiber to give a different effect was not significant (P> 0.05) on feed consumption, body weight gain, feed conversion, carcass weight and fat percentage. The conclusion of this study is the addition of xylanase in feed that has different levels of bran have a positive influence on the performance of broiler production which include feed intake, body weight gain, feed conversion, carcass weight percentage, and the percentage of abdominal fat. The best results were found in the use of T3,  the addition of 0.01% xylanase enzyme in the rice bran as much as 18% of total ration. It is recommended for use in combination with the feed additive xylanase early so allow time for the Adaptation of livestock in the metabolism of the body.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengunaan tepung ketela rambat sebagai sumber energi pakan ayam pedaging periode finisher terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot dan konversi pakan, berat karkas dan berat lemak abdominal. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 80 ekor ayam pedaging jantan Strain Lohman Platinum umur 21- 35 hari dengan berat awal 866,77± 7,449 gram. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode percobaan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan, yakni pakan kontrol, penggantian dengan ketela rambat 10%, 20% dan 30% pakan sumber energy (jagung). Variabel yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi pakan, berat karkas dan berat lemak abdominal. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa penggunaan tepung ketela rambat sebagai sumber energi tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata (P>0,05) terhadap komsumsi pakan, berat karkas dan berat lemak. Sementara pengaruhnya terhadap pertambahan bobot badan dan konversi pakan menunjukkan perbedaan yang sangat nyata (P<0,01). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa pemberian tepung ketela rambat sebanyak maksimal 10% sebagai sumber energy masih bisa memberikan hasil yang cukup baik terhadap konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badan, konversi pakan, berat karkas dan berat lemak abdominal.  Disarankan penggunaan tepung ketela rambat sebagai sumber energi proporsinya kurang dari 10 persen dari total pakan. Kata Kunci: energi, tepung ketela rambat, penampilan ayam pedaging   The Influence of Cassava Flour (Ipomea Batatas L) as Energy to Broiler Performance ABSTRACT This research was conducted to determine the influenced of the adding chromium picolenate on feed to broiler performance. Method of this research was experimentally design which used ninety six male chickens Lohman strain in the 4 x 5 Completely Randomized Design. There was four level of the using cassava flour (Ipomea batatas L) on feed (P0 = 0, P1 = 10%, P2 = 20%, P3 = 30% ). Variables measured were feed intake, live weight gain, feed conversion, carcass weight and abdominal fat weight,.   The yield research shoat that utilizing cassava flour as source of energy to feed consumption, carcass weight dnd abdominal fat weight  had not give significant effect (P > 0,05).  But in body growth and feed conversion gave the significant  effect to (P< 0,01). The research yield can be concluded that utilizing cassava flour as source energy up to 10% step (PI).  The utilizing cassava flour recommended as source energy proportion last than 10% from total feed. Abstract

The objectives of current research were to find out the precise combination between concentrations of vegetable oils (65%; 70%; 75%) and chicken egg of local chicken (6%; 9% and 12%) which produced mayonnaise with an acceptance of panelist. Abstract

This research was conducted to know about the potential activity of cherry leaf (Muntingia calabura) as an alternative for disease caused by bacteria Staphylococcus spp. and Salmonella spp.  The material of this review study was using some literature which related with papers topic. The method was using descriptive to explained and described in discussion chapter. Study of the effectiveness of cherry leaf (Muntingia calabura) had been compared with other natural antibacterial sources such as sirih leaf (Piper betle L.) and beluntas leaf (Pluchea indica L.). The   result of this study showed cherry leaf was an effective natural antibacterial source    because it has the widest inhibited zone against Staphylococcus spp. and Salmonella spp. which amount (19 mm and 37.7 mm) if compared with beluntas leaf (9.5 mm and 15.9 mm) and sirih leaf (16 mm and 17 mm). Another result, Muntingia calabura was effective for duck egg hatchability which amounts 87.74%, this result was high than chemical antibacterial (80.81%), beluntas leaf (44.05%) and sirih leaf (46.43%). From all literature about widest inhibited zone of natural antibacterial activity such as cherry leaf, beluntas leaf and sirih leaf against Salmonella spp. and Staphylococcus sp has the same extraction treatment. Moreover, the result from literature with explained about duck egg hatchery experiment between chemical antibacterial and natural antibacterial has the same treatment and duck egg incubation time. It was suggested to do further study to find out cherry leaf could be used as an alternative natural antibacterial for diseases caused by other bacteria.

Abstract

Duck was one of animal protein resources which still has a low hatchability rate. There were Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella sp.bacteria on hatch egg that can influence mortality of embryos. The objective of the research was to investigate the potential of Muntingia calabura leaf extract as natural antibacteria on the hatchability and embryos mortality of duck’s egg. The research method was field experiment by completely randomized design with five treatments and four replications: P0 (without treatment), A0 (chemical antibacteria), P1(10% of Muntingia calabura leaf extract), P2 (20% of Muntingia calabura leaf extract) and P3 (30% of Muntingia calabura leaf extract). These research used four hundred eggs and semi automatical machine for 28 days. Data were analyzed using one–way Anova. The results showed that Muntingia calabura leaf extract has a very significant effect (P<0,01) on hatchability and embryos mortality. The best treatment was found on 20% of Muntingiacalabura leaf extract which increased 12,01% ofhatchability and decreased 43,42% of mortality rate. Keywords: Muntingia calabura, antibacteria, hatchability, embryos mortality

Abstract

Tujuan dari penambahan tributyrin dan vitamin D dalam pakan adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh terhadap performen dan kualitas telur ayam petelur. Materi yang digunakan adalah ayam petelur strain Isa Brown umur 76 minggu dengan bobot rata-rata 2 kg sebanyak 384 ekor, tributyrin, vitamin D, dan pakan basal. Pengambilan data dilakukan selama 8 minggu. Metode penelitian menggunakan percobaan lapang dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan kontrol (P0) menggunakan pakan kontrol; P1: ditambah 0,4% tributyrin + 0,6% vitamin D3:P2; + 0,5% tributyrin + 0,5% vitamin D3; P3: ditambah 0,6% tributyrin + 0,4% vitamin D3. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan tributyrin dan vitamin D tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, HDP, berat telur, eggmass, HHP, Haugh Unit (HU), indeks putih telur, indeks kuning telur, warna kuning telur, dan tebal cangkang; namun berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap berat cangkang. Data konsumsi pakan berturut-turut dari P0, P1, P2 dan P3 adalah 115,65; 109,86; 116,04 dan 111,97 g/ekor/hari. Nilai HDP tertinggi pada P3 (67,01%) dimana lebih tinggi sekitar 3% dibanding P0 (64,02%). Berat telur pada P1 (65,77 g), P2 (67,73 g) dan P3 (65,01 g) lebih tinggi dibanding P0 (64,35 g). Egg mass tertinggi pada P3 (53,56 g), sedangkan P0 (41,18 g); dan HHP tertinggi pada P3 (65%) dibanding P0 (61,09%). Indeks albumin sekitar 0,08 hingga 0,09 mm dan indeks kuning sekitar 0,41-0,43 mm. Warna kuning rata-rata sekitar 8,9 hingga 9,28 dan haugh unit 83,3 hingga 92,15. Tebal cangkang 0,46 hingga 0,48 mm, sedangkan berat cangkang ini tertinggi pada P2 (8,6 g) dan terendah pada P3 (7,9 g). Kesimpulan dari pengaruh penambahan tributyrin dan vitamin D dalam pakan ayam petelur mendekati afkir menunjukkan peningkatan terhadap performan, yakni HDP, berat telur, egg mass, HHP dan berat serta tebal cangkang. Kombinasi perlakuan terbaik pada penggunaan tributyrin 0,6% dan vitamin D 0,4% yang mampu meningkatkan perfomans ayam petelur.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan Spirulina platensis terhadap performans dan kualitas telur puyuh. Materi yang digunakan adalah 200 ekor puyuh petelur, spirulina bentuk tepung dan pakan puyuh komersil. Metode penelitian menggunakan percobaan lapang dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan penelitian menggunakan pakan kontrol (P0), P1 (pakan +0,05% spirulina), P2 (pakan + 0,1% spirulina) dan P3 (pakan+0,15% spirulina). Penelitian dilakukan selama 6 minggu, yakni saat puyuh umur 16 hingga 22 minggu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan spirulina tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, Berat telur, HDP, egg mass, FCR dan IOFC. Konsumsi pakan tertinggi pada P0 (28,90 g/ekor/hari) dan terendah pada P1 (27,99 g/ekor/hari). Berat telur terendah pada P0 (12,36 g) dan tertinggi pada P2 (12,69 g). Hen day production tertinggi pada P3 (88,54%) dan terendah pada P0 (82,32%). Nilai FCR terbaik pada P2 (2,54) dan tertinggi pada P0 (2,86). Nilai IOFC terbaik pada P2 (Rp 14.315,70) dan terendah pada P0 (Rp. 12.155,92). Penambahan spirulina dalam pakan puyuh memberikan perbedaan yang nyata (P<0,05) terhadap indeks kuning dan skor warna kuning telur, namun tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) pada indeks putih telur dan haugh unit. Nilai indeks putih telur berkisar antara 0,10 hingga 0,12. Sedangkan haugh unit terendah pada P2 (87,14) dan tertinggi pada P3 (89,10). Indeks kuning telur tertinggi pada P3 (0,51) dan berbeda nyata dengan P0, P1 dan P2. Skor warna kuning telur tertinggi pada P3 (5,05) dan terendah pada P1 (4,3). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa, penambahan spirulina mampu memperbaiki performan dan meningkatkan kualitas internal telur puyuh. Penambahan spirulina hingga level 0,15% dalam pakan mampu meningkatkan indeks kuning dan skor warna kuning telur, serta mampu memberikan nilai IOFC tertinggi.

Abstract

The large number of water fern that are still not utilized can be used as animal feed, especially muscovy ducks because they have a fairly high protein content. This research aimed to evaluate the effect of adding water fern (Azolla microphylla) to basal feed in the form of pellets on the characteristics of duck carcasses (Cairina moshata). The material used was 60 day old duck (DOD) males and females (unsex). The method in this study was an in vivo experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 5 replicates. The treatment consisted of giving basal feed in the form of pellets and Azolla as much as 0% (P0), 5% (P1), and 10% (P2). Variables measured in this study included live weight, carcass weight, % carcass, % breast, % thigh, % back, and % wing. The data obtained were then analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with the smallest real difference (BNT). The results showed that the treatment had no significant effect (P>0.05) on % carcass, % breast, % thigh, % back, and % wings but had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on live weight and carcass weight. The addition of Azolla microphylla to the basal feed in the form of pellets to the carcass characteristics of muscovy duck (Cairina moshata) up to a level of 10% can increase live weight and carcass weight.

Abstract

Kelinci usia muda atau lepas sapih memiliki tingkat kematian yang tinggi. Tingkat kematian yang tinggi disebabkan oleh masalah pakan, gangguan dan masalah pencernaan disertai dengan kondisi mikroflora usus yang belum seimbang didalam sistem pencernaan. Salah satu metode untuk mengatasi kondisi tersebut adalah dengan memberikan imbuhan pakan. Acidifier merupakan jenis imbuhan pakan yang diketahui berperan baik dalam menekan pertumbuhan bakteri patogen, meningkatkan penyerapan nutrisi dan perbaikan kesehatan sistem pencernaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan acidifier dalam pakan kelinci terhadap pH, viskositas dan histomorfometri tinggi villi sekum. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan materi penelitian yang digunakan antara lain kelinci New Zealand White berjenis kelamin jantan dan berusia 35 hari (lepas sapih) sebanyak 32 ekor, pakan pelet dan acidifier. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode percobaan lapang dimana kelinci dipelihara selama 6 minggu didalam kandang dan diberi pakan perlakuan. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 4 perlakuan dan 8 kelompok. Perlakuan terdiri dari P0 = pakan kontrol, P1 = pakan kontrol + acidifier 0,1%, P2 = pakan kontrol + acidifier 0,2%, P3 = pakan kontrol + acidifier 0,3%, sedangkan variabel penelitian yang diamati adalah pH sekum, viskositas sekum dan histomorfometri tinggi villi sekum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan acidifier dalam pakan memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0.05) terhadap nilai pH sekum dan memberikan hasil yang tidak signifikan atau tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0.05) terhadap nilai viskositas sekum kelinci. Penambahan acidifier dalam pakan diketahui memberikan dampak terhadap peningkatan panjang vili di setiap perlakuannya. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah penambahan acidifier dengan berbagai konsentrasi pada pakan dapat menurunkan nilai pH, meningkatkan nilai viskositas dan meningkatkan tinggi vili pada sekum. Level penambahan acidifier sebanyak 0,3% dalam pakan menunjukkan hasil terbaik terhadap semua variabel penelitian.

Abstract

This study evaluated the nutrition of Maggot (Hermetia illucens L.) from various fruit waste media, food waste, tofu pulp, fruit rubbish + food waste, and tofu pulp + fruit waste. This study is divided into two stages: stage 1, which is carried out by proximate analysis and inhibitory testing of lactic acid bacteria (BAL), Escherichia coli, and Salmonella sp, and stage 2, which was an in vivo trial. Research material in stage 2 was DOC Strain Lohmann Platinum MB 202 as many as 160 tails are carried out in vivo trial method using a complete random design (CRD) consisting of five treatments and four replications where T0 (basal feed without treatment), T1 (basal feed + maggot flour 0.25%), T2 (basal feed + maggot flour 0.50%), T3 (basal feed + maggot flour 0.75%), T4 (basal feed + 1% maggot flour). The parameters measured were proximate, bacterial inhibitory power, intestinal villi characteristics, crude protein digestibility, Apparent Metabolizable Energy (AME), Apparent Metabolizable Energy Corrected Nitrogen (AMEn), and Nitrogen Retention in Broiler. Data was analyzed using the analysis of variety; if significantly different, results were then continued with the multiple distance test Duncan´s. The results showed that the use of tofu pulp + fruit waste produces maggots with the highest quality of nutrition and inhibition of bacteria, and the administration of maggot flour as feed additive of 0.50% shows the best results in increasing the characteristics of the intestinal villi broiler
