Abstract

Coleus amboinicus (Lour.) merupakan tanaman obat tradisional yang banyak digunakan oleh masyarakat dan telah diteliti secara ekstensif serta dilaporkan di beberapa bidang ilmu pengetahuan. Penulisan review artikel ini didasarkan pada studi literatur tahun 1993 hingga tahun 2021, yang diperoleh dari database google scholar, Scopus, Science Direct, PubMed, dan lainnya. Tanaman ini merupakan tanaman semak aromatis, berbunga, namun jarang berbiji dan dapat diperbanyak secara vegetatif. Profil senyawa fitokimianya dapat digolongkan menjadi beberapa kelas yang berbeda seperti terpenoid, fenolik, flavonoid, alkaloid, saponin, steroid dan tanin. Tanaman C. amboinicus (Lour.) kaya akan komponen fenolik seperti asam rosmarinat dan asam kafeat, dengan mayoritas komponen volatil utamanya yaitu karvakrol. Profil fitokimia C. amboinicus (Lour.) dapat bervariasi tergantung pada berbagai faktor, seperti lingkungan, keanekaragaman genetik, bagian tanaman yang digunakan, maupun metode dan proses ekstraksi. Potensi farmakologinya seperti antibakteri, antifungi, antioksidan, antikanker, antiinflamasi, antidiabetes, antihiperlipidemia, antimalaria serta laktagoga telah banyak dilaporkan. Selain itu, tanaman ini juga dimanfaatkan dalam kuliner serta sintesis biogenik senyawa nanopartikel. Eksplorasi dari tanaman C. amboinicus (Lour.) juga merambah kepada mikroorganisme endofitnya, dan dikaitkan dengan kemampuannya untuk menghasilkan senyawa bioaktif yang potensial sebagai antibakteri, agen biokontrol serta produksi enzim selulase. Review artikel ini memberikan informasi terkait botani, fitokimia, farmakologi, sintesis biogenik, pemanfaatan lainnya serta eksplorasi mikroorganisme endofitnya. Artikel ini diharapkan dapat menjadi sumber informasi untuk pengembangan potensi C. amboinicus (Lour.) yang semakin meluas.

Abstract

Borax, a well-known toxic substance, had been banned as food additive in many countries, including Indonesia. Vomiting, fatigue, renal failure, cancer and even sudden death were reported as its toxic effect. There are many studies about Borax identification had been carried out, including instrumental procedures and alternative tests using natural indicator from the plants, such as turmeric. Alternative tests were low-cost, simple and easy to do. However, a certain solvent and concentration of turmeric for borax detection has not studied yet, which made a gap in borax analysis using a natural indicator. This research aims to determine the effect of turmeric solvent extraction and its concentration on borax detection results using the Turmeric Paper Test Kit. Turmeric powder was macerated with three different solvents (methanol, ethyl acetate and n-hexane) for 3 days. The highest yielded extract was methanol extract, followed by ethyl acetate and n-hexane extract. Solution of Turmeric extract in various solvents were prepared in many concentrations and dripped on paper of strip-test detection tool and leaved to dry. Borax detection was performed with dripped on strip-test detection tools, and discoloration of turmeric paper was observed. The most optimal solvent in this research is methanol extract with 10.000 ppm concentration, and discoloration to reddish-brown color

Abstract

Cyclamate is an artificial sweetener that is not allowed for public consumption, because it isspecifically permitted for diabetics and consumers with low-calorie diets. Syrup usuallyadded as a flavor enhancer (sweetener), color, and aroma. The purpose of adding artificialsweeteners to syrup is to reduce production costs because cyclamates have a highersweetness and lower price than sugar. The purpose of this study was to determine the contentand levels of cyclamate in syrup sold in various stalls and street sellers in the NorthBanjarmasin area, and to determine the data validation method with linearity, precision,accuracy, LOD, and LOQ. The results of the qualitative test showed that 4 of the 9 positivesamples contained cyclamate (samples A, C, E, and I). The results of the method validationparameter test for linearity at 20, 40, 60, 80, 100, and 120 ppm gave a value of thecorrelation coefficient (r ) of 0.9987 with an LOD value of 6.4307 ppm, LOQ of 21.4359ppm,d precision value of 0.74%, and an accuracy value of 89.5126%. The results of thequantitative tests were carried out on four samples, namely samples A, C, E, and I, withcyclamate levels of 12.9423, 31.9833, 23.4166, and 115.6469 mg/kg, respectively. Abstract

ABSTRAK Meningkatnya penyebaran kasus Covid-19 saat ini menjadikan kebiasaan mencuci tangan menggunakan sabun sebagai salah satu kewajiban untuk menekan penyebarannya. Pemanfaatan tanaman herbal sebagai bahan aktif sabun handwash sering dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan tanaman Kelakai (Stenochlaena palustris (Burm.f) Bedd.) sebagai bahan aktif dalam formulasi sabun handwash dan diuji aktivitas antibakterialnya terhadap bakteri Escherichia coli. Tanaman Kelakai dimaserasi dengan etanol 70% dan dilakukan skrinning fitokimia terhadap ekstrak yang dihasilkan. Ekstrak Kelakai kemudian diformulasikan dalam sabun handwash dan diuji aktivitas antibakteri dengan metode dilusi menggunakan media Nutrien Broth dan dilanjutkan dengan uji penegasan menggunakan media Nutrien Agar. Hasil randemen ekstrak dari Kelakai adalah sebesar 12,07%. Ekstrak etanol Kelakai menunjukkan adanya kandungan fenolik, flavonoid, saponin, terpenoid, steroid, alkaloid dan tanin. Konsentrasi Hambat Minimum (KHM) formulasi sabun handwash ekstrak Kelakai teramati pada konsentrasi 30%. ABSTRACT The growth of Covid-19 cases currently, generating the importance of washing hands with soap to suppress its spread. Herbal plants utilization as active ingredients in handwash soap is often carried out. This study aims to utilize Kelakai (Stenochlaena palustris (Burm.f) Bedd.) as an active ingredient in handwash soap formulations and evaluate its antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli bacteria. Kelakai was macerated using 70% ethanol and extract Kelakai was subjected to phytochemical screening. Kelakai extract was then formulated in handwash soap and evaluated for antibacterial activity with dilution method using Nutrien Broth and followed by a confirmation test using Nutrient Agar. The yield of the extract from Kelakai was 12.07%. The ethanol extract of Kelakai showed the presence of phenolics, flavonoids, saponins, terpenoids, steroids, alkaloids and tannins. The Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) of the Kelakai extract handwash soap formulation was observed at a concentration of 30%.

Abstract

Inflamasi merupakan bagian dari proses atau mekanisme pertahanan tubuh dan berfungsi dalam proses penyembuhan sementara itu inflamasi yang bersifat progresif cenderung akan merusak dan menimbulkan beberapa permasalahan dalam tubuh. Enzim COX-2 merupakan salah satu enzim yang berkontribusi dalam terjadinya inflamasi progresif. Ekstrak buah semangka (Citrullus lanatus) terbukti memiliki aktivitas anti-inflamasi namun masih belum ada penelitian terkait menguji selektivitasnya terhadap penghambatan COX-2. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui potensi metabolit sekunder buah semangka yang memiliki aktivitas anti-inflamasi yang selektif menghambat COX-2 menggunakan uji penambatan molekul. Pengujian ini juga melakukan, pengujian Lipinski’s rules of five dan prediksi ADMET. Metode yang digunakan berbasis oriented docking dengan kompleks protein ligandd dibuat semi fleksible docking menggunakan software Autodock Tools. Hasil menunjukan bahwa semua 16 senyawa yang ada pada buah semangka berpotensi sebagai inhibitor COX- 2. Nilai docking (energi ikat bebas (?G)) terbaik yang berasal dari myricetin sebesar -8,62 kcal/mol, disusul oleh tricetin sebesar -8,53 kcal/mol serta quercetin -8,32 kcal/mol. Myricetin merupakan senyawa uji yang memiliki potensi besar sebagai inhibitor COX-2 selektif karena memiliki kekuatan dan kestabilan ikatan yang tinggi saat ditambatkan pada protein 6COX. Residu asam amino GLN 192, PHE 518, LEU 352, SER 530 dan MET 522 banyak berkontribusi membentuk ikatan hidrogen.

Abstract

Selective COX-2 inhibitors have been considered safer treatments than NSAIDs for inflammation from its side effect. Sappanwood was already known for its antiinflammatory activity, but its selectivity towards COX-2 has not been tested. The purpose of this study was to determine the potential activity of compounds in Caesalpinia sappan as anti-inflammatory agents by inhibiting COX-2 and determine their ADMET’s properties through in silico study. Qulified compound from Lipinski’s rule of five evaluation would be continued to the molecular docking using Autodock Tools and ADMET prediction using SwissADME and ADMETLab. Three compounds known to have the best free bond energy (ΔG) values were Caesalpiniaphenol A, Sappankalkon, and Deoxysappanone B with ΔG values respectively (-9.36 ; -9.23 ; -9.02 kcal/mol) and their inhibition constant values of (124.44 ; 172.43 ; 244.75 nM) respectively. Amino acid residues that are known to involve to the formation of hydrogen bonds in ligands are GLN 192 and PHE518. Toxicity results showed that these three compounds were predicted to be neither hepatotoxic nor hERG inhibitors, but 3-deoxysappanone B and sappankalkon was predicted to cause AMES mutagenicity and skin sensitivity. It can be concluded that these third compound has the potential as an inhibitor of the COX-2 enzyme.

Abstract

Kasus anemia defisiensi zat besi terjadi pada dua milyar penduduk dunia dan sebesar 29,9% nya dialami oleh remaja putri. Prevalensi anemia di Indonesia mencapai 23,7%  dan terkhusus Kalimantan Selatan prevalensi anemia pada remaja putri sebesar adalah 52,98%  Anemia pada remaja beresiko terjadinya pertumbuhan fisik dan maturitas seksual yang melambat, serta penurunan konsentrasi dalam belajar. Program pencegahan anemia terus dilakukan oleh pemerintah, khususnya pada remaja putri dan wanita usia subur. Kegiatan edukasi ini bertujuan untuk mendukung program pemerintah dan mendeskripsikan pengetahuan remaja putri tentang senyawa Fe dalam mengatasi anemia di SMK Al-Furqon Banjarmasin Utara, Kota Banjarmasin, Kalimantan Selatan. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode sosialisasi menggunakan media Power Point Presentation (PPT) dan leaflet, dimana dilakukan pemaparan materi terkait pentingnya peranan senyawa Fe dalam mengatasi anemia pada remaja putri. Berdasarkan pada hasil posttest terlihat bahwa tingkat pengetahuan remaja putri terkait anemia mengalami peningkatan, sehingga dapat dinyatakan bahwa edukasi yang telah dilakukan, dapat memberikan peningkatan pengetahuan terkait pentingnya senyawa Fe dalam mengatasi anemia. Kata Kunci: Anemia, Senyawa Fe, Program Preventive, Edukasi Iron deficiency anemia cases occured in two billion people in the world and 29.9% of them are experienced by adolescent girl. The prevalence of anemia in Indonesia reached 23.7% and specifically in South Borneo the prevalence of anemia in adolescent girls was 52.98%. Anemia in adolescents is at risk of slowing physical growth and sexual maturity, as well as decreased concentration in studying. The government continues to carry out anemia prevention programs, especially for adolescent girls and women of childbearing age. This educational activity aims to support government programs and describe the knowledge of young women about Fe compounds in treating anemia at Al-Furqon Vocational School, North Banjarmasin, Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan. These activities are carried out using the socialization method using Power Point Presentation (PPT) media and leaflets. where material was presented regarding the importance of the role of Fe compounds in overcoming anemia in adolescent girls. Based on the posttest results, showed that the level of knowledge of adolescent girl regarding anemia has increased, so it can be stated that the education that has been carried out could provide knowledge enhancement regarding the importance of Fe in treating anemia.

Abstract

Many children only want to eat the foods they like, such as sweet, salty, or high-carbohydrate foods, while vegetables and fruits are often ignored. This unbalanced diet can lead to children lacking essential nutrients needed to maintain immunity and optimal growth. "Isi Piringku" is a government program aimed at raising public awareness about balanced nutrition and healthy eating patterns. The activity aims to improve students' understanding in Desa Karang Bunga regarding the importance of a balanced diet through the "Isi Piringku" education program. This activity, conducted on June 27, 2024, utilized presentation media, demonstrations, and evaluations to measure the increase in knowledge and satisfaction. During the activity, students received explanations about the introduction of "Isi Piringku" in arranging a balanced diet, including carbohydrates, proteins, fats, fruits, and vegetables, and demonstrations were conducted. The results of the activity showed an increase in students' understanding of the importance of balanced nutrition, and satisfaction evaluations indicated positive responses from Desa Karang Bunga.

Abstract

Protein Kasein Kinase 2-α merupakan salah satu target terapi dalam pengobatan kanker leukemia yang merupakan molekul penting dalam mengatur pertumbuhan kanker leukemia. Senyawa kurkumin terbukti memiliki aktivitas sebagai inhibitor Kasein Kinase 2-α, namun masih belum ada penelitian yang menguji senyawa turunan kurkumin sebagai inhibitor Kasein Kinase 2-α. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui potensi dari senyawa kurkumin beserta turunannya sebagai inhibitor Kasein Kinase 2-α ID PDB: 3PE1 melalui penambatan molekul (molecular docking), berdasarkan nilai energi ikatan bebas (ΔG) terendah serta interaksinya, dan mengetahui prediksi ADMET. Metode yang digunakan adalah penambatan molekul dengan AutoDock Tools 1.5.7. yang dilanjutkan pengujian Lipinski’s rule of five (RO5) dari senyawa kurkumin beserta turunannya disertai screening ADMET menggunakan Swiss ADME dan admetSAR. Hasil yang diperoleh terdapat tiga senyawa uji yang memiliki energi ikatan bebas (ΔG) terbaik yaitu Di-O-acetyldemethoxy curcumin = -10,13 kcal/mol, Dimethoxy curcumin = -9,93 kcal/mol dan Dimethyl curcumin = -9,88 kacal/mol. Residu asam amino yang paling banyak berkontribusi membentuk ikatan hidrogen adalah Valine (VAL 116) sebanyak 22 interaksi, diikuti dengan  Lysine (LYS 68) sebanyak 18 interaksi, dan Aspartate (ASP 175) sebanyak 17 interaksi. Tiga senyawa uji terbaik juga memenuhi kriteria RO5 serta screening ADMET pada senyawa tersebut menunjukkan hasil prediksi aktivitas sebagai inhibitor Kasein Kinase 2-α dengan parameter Absorbsi, Distribusi, Metabolisme, Ekskresi, Toksisitas (ADMET) yang sudah baik. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini tiga senyawa uji terbaik diprediksi memiliki potensi sebagai inhibitor Kasein Kinase 2-α
