Abstract

This research is to find description of comparison of creativity on 10-12 years old students between regular primary school ―X‖ and intenational primary school ―Y‖ in Bandung. This research uses comparative method. Purposive sampling is used for  selecting samples. The samples in this research consist of 68 students of regular primary school ―X‖ and 34  students of international primary school ―Y‖. The researcher uses Tes Kreativitas Figural (TKF) by Munandar as the instrument. The data is statistically analyzed in the form of means comparison using independent sample T-test. Based on the data analysis, the result shows, the significancy is 0,964 (two tails) and α is 0,05. In other ways, it shows there is no significant differences of creativity between both of them. So, both of them have same creativity. The researcher suggests a further research to combine  the instrument by using  Tes Kreativitas Verbal (TKV) and Tes Kreativitas Figural (TKF). So, it can collect the data  more complete and accurate. And also, to compare another school that has different curriculum that aims to improve student‘s creativity. Keywords : creativity, students, primary school

Abstract

This study aims to get an overview of The Degree of Altruism of psychology students in University “X” Bandung. This study uses descriptive design and stratified sampling technique. Aquestionnaire is made and administered to a total of 325 psychology students. The measuring instrument used in this study is constructed by the researcher, based on Altruism theory by Smith (2011). Validity is measured by using Construct Validity technique with Spearman formula, while reliability is tested by using Split Half technique. Validity calculation discovers 43 valid items with validity coefficient ranging from 0.340 to 0.692. Reliability is measured and it is discovered that the coefficient reliability is 0.957, which means that the measuring instrument is reliable. The data are calculated by using frequency distribution method and it is concluded that a total of 55.4% psychology students has a low degree of altruism, and a total of 44.6% psychology students has a high degree of altruism. Based on its aspects, psychology students whose degree in altruism is low, have a high degree of concern,a high degree of empathy, but a low degree of cost, a low degree of benefit to recipient, and a low degree of ease of escape. Psychology students whose degree in altruism is highalso have a high degree of concern, cost, benefit to recipient, empathy, and ease of escape. For further study, it is suggested conducting a research regarding the correlation betweenaltruism and the factors that influence it, particularly the type of parenting that psychology students experience. Keywords: altruism, psychology students, concern, cost, benefit to recipent, ease of escape.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to find out how significant verbal imitation on improving language production in 4-6 years old speech delay children at Kindergarten “X” This study used one group pretest-posttest design, with measuring tools used in this study is developmental milestones of Language Production by Olmstead (1971) and has been modified by the researcher. Expert judges tested the validity and reliability testing of the measuring tools. The samples of this study were 8 children who met the sample characteristics and were selected using purposive sampling techniques. The results of statistical test using Wilcoxon is p = 0.019 < 0.05 with Z = -2.366. It indicates differences in children's language production before and after the child undergoing a verbal imitation program. Theoretical suggestions for further research is to conduct a collaborative study that intervenes both parents and children simultaneously. Practically, parents and teachers should continue providing clear and consistent directions to children to correctly imitate the articulate sound of words. Child practitioners are suggested to consider verbal imitation program as an intervention in dealing with children who have a speech delay.

Abstract

The trail-making test (TMT) is a commonly used executive function test in various populations worldwide. It is also used to assess the dementia population, who experience impairment in executive function. In Indonesia, the psychometric properties of TMT for local populations have been reported to be satisfactory. However, there was a lack of studies on the validity and reliability of the TMT for the dementia population. In this study, we examined the validity and reliability of TMT and established population-specific norms for dementia. We analyzed data from 71 TMT scores and three other neuropsychological tests (DSST, DS test, and MOCA) to examine its psychometric properties. The internal consistency analysis was used to assess the reliability of the TMT, while the generalized structured component analysis (GSCA) was conducted to examine TMT’s validity in assessing executive function. The reliability test indicated that the TMT has high reliability (ω = 0.639), while GSCA revealed that TMT has high construct validity with three other neuropsychological tests (TMT-A=0.72 and TMT-B=0.573). Additionally, this study provides standardized norms of TMT for the dementia population.

Abstract

Postpartum women experience both physical and psychological changes. Previous studies have shown that women who delivered via caesarean section tend to have lower levels of Subjective Well-Being (SWB) than those who gave birth vaginally. If left unaddressed, these psychological challenges may lead to anxiety or depression. This study aimed to investigate the impact of Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) training on improving the Subjective Well-Being of postpartum women following caesarean delivery. This research employed a randomized controlled pilot trial (waitlist control) with pretest–posttest assessments and utilized non-parametric analysis (Mann-Whitney U Test). The Scale of Positive and Negative Experience (SPANE), Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS), and Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) were used to measure Subjective Well-Being and self-compassion. The results showed a significant increase in Subjective Well-Being among participants in the experimental group after receiving the MSC training. The findings suggest that MSC training is effective in improving the well-being of postpartum women who delivered via caesarean section.
