Abstract

This research aims to describe the inventory and distribution of phonemes in the East Seram language in Manokwari, West Papua. The data consists of 850 Swadesh core vocabularies obtained in the East Seram language from people from Seram Island who now live in Manokwari. Data sources were obtained from informants' responses or answers to questions asked by researchers both orally and in writing and summarized in a Swadesh list. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data was collected in depth through direct interaction with informant subjects through observation, interviews, and audio recordings. The process of analyzing the data encompasses transcribing the data, creating a phoneme inventory, and categorizing sounds according to different features, such as articulation and distribution, to recognize vowel and consonant phonemes in the language of East Seram in Manokwari, West Papua. This process includes analyzing phoneme usage patterns in words in initial, middle, and final positions. The results of the data analysis concluded that the East Seram language in Manokwari, West Papua, has 23 segmental phonemes consisting of 18 consonants and five vowels (monophthongs). These phonemes are: p/, /b/, /t/, /d/, /c/, /j/, /k/, /g/, /f/, /s/, /h/, /m/, /n/, /ŋ/, /r/, /l/, /w/, /y/, a/, /i/, /u/, /e/ and /o/.

Abstract

The development of literacy in Indonesia is still low, with minimal interest in reading impacting students' literacy skills. The causes include difficulty in understanding reading and the lack of literacy resources in schools. The School Literacy Movement by the government, including the book donation program, is expected to improve students' literacy and reading comprehension. This program involves counseling, storytelling, and a target of reading one book per month for students. Although challenges such as limited infrastructure exist, cross-sector collaboration and community support are expected to build a strong literacy culture at SDN 54 Aipiri. On September 15, 2023, a community service activity was carried out at SDN 54 Aipiri, East Manokwari, West Papua. Involving students in grades 1-6, lecturers, and Indonesian Literature students, this program aims to improve literacy skills. The stages include planning, implementation, and evaluation to expand student literacy and provide inspiration for similar programs elsewhere. The book donation initiative at SD Negeri 54 Aipiri aims to increase the book collection, stimulate students' interest in reading, and improve the quality of learning. 120 books were collected from various donors, including students, lecturers, and the community. Ongoing efforts involve more contributors. Counseling is carried out at the beginning of each learning session, including storytelling, to increase students' literacy awareness and skills.

Abstract

This study is part of an effort to understand the true value of basic philosophy that is revealed behind the law is really very meaningful in finding the words and concepts to describe the meaning of a text of the law. The provision of a special autonomy space for Papua is seen as a new sign that becomes a beacon within nationalists from the threat of Papuan nationalist groups (separatists and federalists) who are constantly creating new signs in the social semiotics space in Papua. Language as the home of life, capable of echoing and symbolized as a form of resurrection that is ready to threaten the unitary state system. The purpose of this study is to uncover political discourse in the text of law number 21 on Special Autonomy of Papua laden with linguistic nuances (morphology) which is not only what is understood, but the understanding itself is essentially linguistic as well. The method used in this research refers to qualitative method with descriptive research type which serves to present a detailed picture about a particular situation, social background, relationship, class or certain characteristic in Papua Special Autonomy Law. The main data in this study is the writing data (main) which is derived from the text of the Special Autonomy Law of Papua. The qualitative data derived from the text of the law in the form of words, phrases, clauses and sentences that provide an overview of the integration of morphological studies can then be described and explored in their meaning according to their use in the text.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat minat baca tulis anak usia sekolah di Dusun Siai Kamaniani Kampung Yekwandi Distrik Momi Waren Kabupaten Manokwari Selatan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minat baca tulis anak usia sekolah disana sangat kurang. Hal ini juga didukung oleh pernyataan orang tua dan juga guru yang ikut serta dalam mengisi kuesioner penelitian. hal ini juga dipengaruhi oleh faktor – faktor yang tidak mendukung aktivitas belajar mereka. Dengan demikian, perlu adanya upaya – upaya yang dilakukan untuk dapat meningkatkan minat baca tulis mereka berdasarkan instrumen penelitian / kuesioner peneliti menemukan bahwa anak usis sekolah di Dusun Siai Kamaniani lebih banyak menjawab tidak suka, begitu pula dengan orang tua dan juga guru.

Abstract

Abstrack: Reproductive Health of indigenous Papuan women in KB Village in Sorong Regency is related to the Cultural environment. Objective: to analyze the relationship between the cultural environment and the reproductive health status of indigenous Papuan women. Research method: qualitative descriptive presented in the form of frequency distribution and to test the closeness of the relationship between variables is done through the Spearman test. The variables studied were the Cultural Environment and the Reproductive Health Degrees of Indigenous Papuan Women. This research is a case study in Kampung KB, Sorong Regency. Determination of population using purposive sampling method. Results: The cultural environment has a very strong relationship with the degree of female reproductive health because the significance value is at the 99% confidence level. Researchers did not link the reproductive health status of indigenous Papuan women with maternal mortality and infant mortality rates. Key words: relationship of cultural environment, women's reproductive health Abstrak Kesehatan Reproduksi wanita orang asli Papua pada Kampung KB di Kabupaten Sorong berhubungan dengan lingkungan Budaya. Tujuan: menganalisis hubungan lingkungan budaya dengan derajat kesehatan reproduksi wanita orang asli Papua. Metode penelitian: deskriptif kualitatif yang disajikan dalam bentuk distribusi frekuensi dan untuk menguji keeratan hubungan antar variabel dilakukan melalui uji Spearman. Variabel yang diteliti yaitu Lingkungan Budaya serta Derajat Kesehatan Reproduksi Wanita Orang Asli Papua. Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus di Kampung KB Kabupaten Sorong. Penentuan Populasi menggunakan metode Purposive Sampling. Hasil: Lingkungan Budaya memiliki hubungan sangat kaut terhadap Derajat Kesehatan Reproduksi Wanita karena nilai signifikasi berada pada tingkat kepercayaan 99%. Peneliti tidak menghubungkan derajat kesehatan reproduksi wanita orang asli Papua dengan Angka Kematian Ibu melahirkan dan Angka Kematian Bayi. Kata kunci: hubungan lingkungan budaya, kesehatan reproduksi wanita

Abstract

ABSTRACT: Schools as educational institutions are the main target in environmental management efforts through implementation in subjects. Environmental education is a character education. Understanding of the environment has been included in one subject based on an agreement between the Minister of Environment and the Minister of National Education. SMP YPK 2 Fanindi Manokwari is expected to implement environmental education. It is necessary to know the understanding of the implementation of environmental education and also the implementation of environmental education at SMP YPK 2 Fanindi Manokwari and the results can provide an overview of the understanding and implementation of environmental education at SMP YPK 2 Fanindi Manokwari. This research uses descriptive methods and interview, observation and archiving techniques. The results of this study indicate that the application of environmental education has not been applied but in practice it has been applied in everyday life at SMP YPK 2 Fanindi Manokwari.
