ABSTRAK Penelitian ini berjudul Reinterpretasi Teknik Slide Derek Trucks dalam Lagu “ Sahib Teri Bandi” Menggunakan Tools Aluminium Slide melalui Gitar Resonator. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi karakteristik teknik slide dengan menggunakan tools aluminium slide melalui gitar resonator sebagai bentuk reinterpretasi artistik terhadap permainan Derek Trucks dalam lagu “Sahib Teri Bandi”. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain Practice as Research (PaR), di mana praktik musikal, refleksi diri, dokumentasi, refleksi pengalaman resital, dan analisis sonic menjadi bagian integral dari proses penelitian. Proses reinterpretasi dilakukan melalui eksperimen penggunaan berbagai jenis tools slide (glass, brass, aluminium), serta perbandingan karakteristik spektrum frekuensi antara permainan Derek Trucks dan hasil eksplorasi penulis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tools aluminium slide melalui gitar resonator menghasilkan karakter sonic yang lebih terang (bright), kasar (harsh), dan dinamis, berbeda dengan tone hangat (warm) yang dihasilkan glass slide pada gitar elektrik. Pemilihan gitar resonator tri-cone yang dimodifikasi dengan pickup humbucker juga membuka kemungkinan ekspresi baru, baik dalam hal sustain, artikulasi, maupun resonansi. Selain itu, idiom musik Bali seperti pelog dan slendro turut diintegrasikan dalam improvisasi sebagai bentuk penegasan identitas musikal penulis. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa reinterpretasi bukan hanya persoalan teknis, melainkan juga refleksi estetis dan kultural. Melalui pendekatan Practice as Research, praktik musikal menjadi sarana penciptaan pengetahuan baru yang kontekstual, personal, dan ekspresif.Kata kunci: Reinterprestasi, Teknik Slide, Derek Trucks, Gitar Resonator, Akuminium Slide, Practice as ResearchABSTRACT This research is titled Reinterpretation of Derek Trucks’ Slide Technique in the Song “ Sahib Teri Bandi” Using an Aluminum Slide Tool through a Resonator Guitar. The aim of this study is to explore the characteristics of the slide technique using an aluminum slide tool through a resonator guitar as an artistic reinterpretation of Derek Trucks' performance in the song “Sahib Teri Bandi”. The research applies a qualitative approach using the Practice as Research(PaR) framework, where musical practice, self-reflection, documentation, recital experience reflection, and sonic analysis serve as integral components of the research process. The reinterpretation process was carried out through experiments involving various types of slide tools (glass, brass, aluminum), as well as frequency spectrum comparisons between Derek Trucks’ performance and the author's own explorations. The results show that using an aluminum slide tool through a resonator guitar produces a sonic character that is brighter, harsher, and more dynamic—distinct from the warm tone produced by a glass slide on an electric guitar. The use of a tri-cone resonator guitar modified with a humbucker pickup also opens new expressive possibilities in terms of sustain, articulation, and resonance. Additionally, Balinese musical idioms such as pelog and slendro are integrated into the improvisation as a means of affirming the author's musical identity. This research concludes that reinterpretation is not merely a technical matter, but also an aesthetic and cultural reflection.
