Abstract

Abstract

The practice of education in schools still needs to improve in the form of limited studies focusing on parental involvement in the learning process of children with special needs in Indonesia. This study aimed to identify the forms of parental involvement in planning, implementing, and evaluating learning programs from 2017 to 2022 using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method. The stages of implementation using the Cooper version are (1) formulating the problem, (2) collecting data, (3) evaluating the feasibility of the data, (4) analysis and interpreting the relevant data, and (5) organizing and presenting the results. Data was collected by searching for keywords related to the concept to be reviewed on the data source page (Google Scholar, Perpusnas.go.id, and Portal Garuda). The results of this study indicate that parental involvement in learning planning is as a giver and recipient of information about the child's condition in the assessment process but has yet to be involved in determining the learning program. Meanwhile, mostly parents accompanied children when studying at home during the pandemic, despite many challenges in the learning implementation.  As for the evaluation process, parents monitored their children’s progress and gave feedback to the teachers about their children’s achievements. The findings of this study indicate the need for further studies to improve school-parent collaboration in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low employee performance. Employee performance is influenced by work passion and organizational commitment. This study aims to empirically test the relationship between work passion, organizational commitment, and employee performance. The main hypothesis proposed in this study is that work passion and organizational commitment are jointly correlated with employee performance. The minor hypotheses proposed are: 1) Work passion is positively correlated with employee performance, and 2) Organizational commitment is positively correlated with employee performance. This study involves 97 male and female employees, with a purposive sampling technique used to select participants. The characteristics of the subjects in this study are: 1) Employees of CV SP Aluminum, 2) Both male and female employees, and 3) Employees with more than 2 years of work experience. Data collection was carried out using employee performance scales, work passion scales, and organizational commitment scales. The analysis technique used was multiple linear regression with SPSS 22. The first minor hypothesis showed a t-value of -0.183 and a significance value of p = 0.855, indicating that this hypothesis was not statistically supported. This result shows that work passion has no significant relationship with employee performance. Interestingly, the negative beta coefficient indicates a potential reverse relationship, although insignificant. This negative contribution may reflect the complexity of the work passion dimension, including both harmonious and obsessive passion. Harmonious passion increases intrinsic motivation at work, while obsessive passion can lead to emotional exhaustion and decreased performance. These findings are consistent with previous research (e.g., Appienti & Chen, 2020; Kemie, 2020; Fawwaz, 2023), which shows that work passion does not always positively impact performance and, in some cases, can even be counterproductive. Therefore, it can be concluded that work passion does not correlate with employee performance. The second minor hypothesis, with a t-value of 3.157 and a p-value of 0.002, can be interpreted as supporting the second minor hypothesis. Therefore, it can be concluded that organizational commitment positively correlates with employee performance. The effective contributions of work passion and organizational commitment to employee performance are -0.07% and 9.77%, respectively. Keywords: Employees, Employee Performance, Organizational Commitment, Work Passion

Abstract

The elderly need support from companions or caregivers, both from family and volunteers. Elderly care requires a lot of time and effort, especially when the elderly experience conditions such as dementia, chronic diseases, or physical disabilities. The majority of elderly nurses in Indonesia come from family environments because the culture in Indonesia emphasizes kinship and attachment between families. A caregiver is an individual who has a personal relationship such as family, friends, or relatives who are willing to volunteer to help an individual with a chronic illness or disability. Family Caregivers often experience the emotional burden of stress, physical and mental exhaustion, as well as mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, as the average caregiver spends about 8-13 hours per day caring for them. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of psychoeducational problem focused coping in reducing the emotional burden of elderly caregivers. This research method uses an experimental research method with a nonequivalent design. The hypothesis of this study is whether psychoeducation problem-focused coping effectively reduces the emotional burden of caregivers of the elderly in Kulon Progo with the types of a control group and an experimental group. The results of this study showed that v by as much as 0.000<0.05, aimed at reducing emotional burden in the experimental group compared to the control group that did not receive treatment. Psychoeducation of problem focused coping can be used as one of the methods that can be used to reduce the emotional burden on caregivers

Abstract

The issue of mental health among students, especially those in psychology programs, has garnered increased attention due to the rising cases of suicides and mental disorders. This research aims to explore the relationship between mental health literacy and help-seeking behavior among psychology students. The research methodology employed a descriptive approach, involving the participation of 100 psychology students who responded to a survey with open-ended questions. Research findings indicate that the majority of psychology students still have limited understanding regarding mental health issues and literacy, as well as how these relate to help-seeking behavior. The implications of these findings are expected to contribute to raising awareness among psychology students about the importance of mental health literacy and how it can shape more effective help-seeking behaviors. Further research may be needed to develop in-depth and relevant interventions at the higher education level to support the mental well-being of students.

Abstract

Adolescent mental health is influenced by resilience, which is defined as the ability to face challenges. Low resilience renders adolescents vulnerable to loneliness due to limited social support, which in turn heightens the risk of suicidal ideation. Social support can bolster resilience while mitigating the negative effects of loneliness; however, research positioning resilience as a mediator and social support as a moderator in this relationship remains limited, particularly among adolescents in high-risk areas such as Gunungkidul. This study aims to explore the role of resilience as a mediator and social support as a moderator in the relationship between loneliness and suicidal ideation. A quantitative cross-sectional correlational method was employed, together with a cluster random sampling technique. The sample comprised 420 students, consisting of 308 females and 112 males. The data collection technique used a social support scale, a resilience scale, and a suicidal ideation scale. The data were analyzed through a series of path analyses with the causal step method and MRA. Social support is shown to significantly moderate the direct effect of loneliness on resilience (p = .006 < .05), which indicates that social support increases. However, such support is unable to moderate the direct effect of resilience on suicidal ideation (p = .196 > .05), nor of loneliness on suicidal ideation (p =  .338 > .05). The mediation effect test shows that loneliness does not have a significant effect on suicidal ideation when the resilience variable is controlled (p = .185 > .05). Regression model 2 in the mediation effect test indicates that only resilience has a significant effect on suicidal ideation (-.184 p < .05). The implications of the study include the understanding that suicidal ideation will be lower if accompanied by a decrease in loneliness and an increase in resilience and social support.
