Abstract

Food Packaging Assistance Program for Tenants through the Bioindustry Entrepreneur Development Center Packaging is very important, especially on attracting consumer interest, so it needs to be adjusted based on market segments, because consumer tastes of products can be seen from the packaging. Generally, tenants already have packaging, but it was very simple, just mention the name of the product. Therefore, this mentoring program would increase awareness of tenants to make packaging based on labelling regulation for food products. The stages on this community service activity included provision of food packaging, presenting some packaging samples and assisting also giving consultation for tenant about food product packaging. This mentoring activity provided many benefits for tenants. There were 12 tenants participated on this activity. About 80% of participants got improve for their package, on design also information which required on the packaging.

Abstract

Interest-and-Talent-Based Method of Selection in Prospective Entrepreneur at the Faculty of Bioindustry, Trilogi University This program was aimed to determine the selection process based on interests and talents carried out by Bioindustry Entrepreneurship Capacity Development Center (called as PPKWB). This paper can be useful as a reference for conducting the selection process for prospective entrepreneurs in other entrepreneurship development centers. The selection method carried out by PPKWB consisted of 3 stages, namely proposal selection, interview selection, and psychological testing. The result of those activities was 12 selected tenants consisting of groups and individuals as well from 26 tenants registered and participated in the 2019 PPKWB program. The twelve tenants were divided into two, namely individual tenants and group tenants. Group tenants consisted of 2-3 members. The tenants came from several study programs consists of agribusiness, agroecotechnology, and food science and technology study programs. The focus areas of each tenant were food, agriculture, and cosmetics.

Abstract

The cultivation of carambola produced some waste that can be used as organic fertilizer. Organic fertilizer is useful to improve soil conditions and enrich the nutrient content contained therein so that it is easily absorbed by cultivated plants such as pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). The optimum pakcoy production is supported by good land management in order to meet the availability of nutrients needed by the addition of inorganic fertilizers and starfruit organic fertilizer. The study was conducted at Attaqie Farm, Tuban in November 2018 to May 2019. The experimental design used was randomized completely block design with two factors carambla derivated organic fertilizer 10 tons ha-1 , 20 tons ha-1, 30 tons ha-1 and inorganic fertilizer  0 kg ha-1; 50 kg ha-1; 100 kg ha-1. The results showed that carambola derivated organic fertilizer contained N, P, K, S, Ca, and Mg about 6.19%,  0.94%, 75.04%,  0.02%,  20.13%, and 47.23%, respectively. The dosage of 50% inorganic fertilizer and 10 tons of carambola organic fertilizer gave optimum results for the growth of plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, stem diameter, canopy weight, root length and root weight of pakcoy plants. Fertilization using a dose of organic fertilizer 10 tons ha-1 could reduce 50% of the need of inorganic fertilizer.Keywords: fertilizer efficiency, organic fertilizer, pakcoy, starfruit waste, verticulture

Abstract

Universitas Trilogi memiliki visi untuk mencetak generasi teknososiopreneur yang unggul. Visi ini dicapai melalui program tri darma perguruan tinggi. Salah satu wujud untuk mengimplementasikan visi ini, Fakultas Bioindustri Unviersitas Trilogi di bawah Pusat Pengembangan Kapasitas Wirausaha Bioindustri membuat program pengembangan kewirausahaan untuk para mahasiswa dan alumni. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini yaitu untuk mempersiapkan para mahasiswa dan alumni fakultas bioindustri agar dapat menyelesaikan permasalahan bangsa melalui inovasi dan kewirausahaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam program ini yaitu penseleksian, pendampingan, pendanaan, pelatihan dan kunjungan perusahaan. Program di danai oleh Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi Republik Indonesia. Hasil dan dicapai dalam program ini wirausaha-wirausaha yang inovatif dan menyelesaikan permasalahan yang ada. Pada tahun 2019, terdapat 12 usaha yang inovatif yaitu Biocraft, Moodup, Kinuque, Sooci, Mopizza, Isogen, Otel, Mapaya, Bunatea, Muma, Yoshee, dan Nature-B. Tahun 2020 terdapat 12 usaha yang inovatif yaitu Roti Karkus, Burgernesia, Pyong Ktichen, Bubbly Bob’s, Fancis Jam, Dalcomy, Vegefish, Albedo Candy, Yubbi Nugget, Indorice, Rainbowlu, dan Saritem. Tahun 2021, terdapat 8 usaha yang inovatif yaitu Roti Mila, Shicimol, Pudding Custom, Ngenyangin, Bakso Frozen Prebiotik, S-Hat, Dapur Kakak Gembira, dan Otakin aja. Program-program yang diberikan memberikan dampak positif bagi para peserta sehingga usaha yang dijalankan saat ini dapat berkembang dengan baik.

Abstract

Program kemitraan dengan santri komunitas Pilar Al Jabar merupakan suatu kegiatan yang telah berlangsung mulai tahun 2018 dan masih berlangsung sampai saat ini (2023). Kegiatan ini memberikan wadah untuk belajar urban farming (pertanian perkotaan) kepada masyarakat dan santri. Kegiatan meliputi budidaya lahan sempit di pekarangan dengan penanaman sayuran sebagai sumber pangan lestari, dan untuk area hijau yang dimanfaatkan untuk kesehatan, serta penambahan nilai estetika di lingkungan. Kegiatan urban farming ini diharapkan dapat membawa dampak positif bagi lingkungan dan warga. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah; Tercipta pengembangan sistem bercocok tanam yang efektif dan efisien bagi mitra pengabdian; Meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan, kesadaran dan memotivasi mitra khususnya urban farming sebagai sumber pangan di lahan sempit yang juga bisa menjadi sumber pendapatan; Terciptanya wirausaha baru dengan kemampuan urban farming berbasis komunitas. Kegiatan sosialisasi, motivasi dan pelatihan pembuatan kompos, POC dan budikdamber ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai dengan Desember 2022 di Perumahan Jatinegara Baru, Jakarta Timur. Peserta yang hadir dalam kegiatan pelatihan adalah masyarakat dan santri Al Jabar. Hasil dari kegiatan ini sangat baik, yang dibuktikan dengan keberlanjutannya kegiatan pertanian perkotaan mulai dari budidaya sampai pemasaran mingguan dan tetap berlangsung dalam pendampingan. Dari evaluasi menunjukkan, kegiatan yang awalnya hanya difahami oleh peserta sebesar 10%, menjadi 100% dengan nilai “sangat bermanfaat” yang diperoleh oleh peserta, dan pemilihan metode yang diberikan berupa teori dan praktik merupakan metode yang dirasa sangat sesuai untuk peserta.Kata Kunci: budidaya; pekarangan; pertanian perkotaan; pertanian Berkelanjutan; urban farming

Abstract

Hygiene is an important aspect in everyday life. However, in some areas there is still waste that is just thrown away and mixed between organic and inorganic waste. These wastes should still be utilized as products that are useful for everyday life or used to increase the value of waste by making products that are worth selling. For example in an organic waste can be used to make compost fertilizer (compost can come from leftovers such as leftover vegetables and fruits that cannot be eaten), while inorganic waste can be used for making verticulture (this product can be used as a place to grow vegetables or flowers). The socialization and training in making compost for vegetable cultivation vertically is one way to increase the interest and talent of the community in Cibitung Kulon village. The compost training is not only used to grow vegetables vertically in the yard of the house and in the cultivation of vegetables in the farmer's garden, but it is also intended to help farmers in the maintenance / cultivation of rice plants or food crops in order to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers. This verticulture training in composting and vegetable cultivation is conducted in August 2018 in the Cibitung Kulon Village Office Hall RW 7, Pamijahan District, Bogor. The results of the implementation of training activities in making compost and growing vegetables vertically in Cibinong Kulon, RW 07, Pamijahan District, Bogor went well. This can be seen from the enthusiasm of the many participants present and the involvement of the community in following a series of activities that have been well prepared from the beginning to the end of the activity.Keywords: Environment, Household Fertilizer, Hygiene, Organic, Plants

Abstract

Star fruit harvesting activity in Attaqie Farm orchard produces no less than 20% of organic waste in each period. The organic waste can be utilized as an organic fertilizer source. The potential of star fruit waste as a source for liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) is an interesting subject to study. The objective of this study was to obtain information about the potential of star fruit waste as LOF and how it affects green mustard production. The study used the factorial design with two factors, namely inorganic fertilizer dosage (0%, 50%, and 100% of recommended dosage) and LOF concentration (0, 3, 6, and 9 ml/L) and arranged using Completely Randomized Block Design. There were twelve combinations of treatments with three replications. The production of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) with star fruit waste as the main ingredient used an anaerobic fermentation method with help from EM4 bio-activator for 30 days. Green mustard shoot weight increased with higher LOF concentration. The application of 9 ml/L LOF produced 20% higher green mustard shoot weight compared to without application and the application of 3 ml/L LOF. The result showed that LOF from star fruit waste has the potential to be developed through formulation development.

Abstract

Belimbing merupakan salah satu buah yang mudah mengalami kerusakan, sehingga diperlukan upaya dalam penanganan pascapanen yang baik. Salah satu upaya penanganan pascapanen yaitu dengan cara pemanenan pada stadia kematangan yang tepat dan dilakukan pengemasan dengan jenis kemasan yang sesuai. Panen pada stadia kematangan dan jenis kemasan yang tepat sangat menentukan mutu buah belimbing. Karena jarak transportasi pasar untuk pengiriman berbeda, sehingga stadia kematangan dan jenis kemasan yang tepat sangat dibutuhkan buah belimbing agar aman sampai ke tempat tujuan akhir/konsumen. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan stadia kematangan dan jenis kemasan yang tepat pada buah belimbing untuk mempertahankan mutu buah selama distribusi. . Buah belimbing dipetik di kebun Attaqie Farm Tuban, Jawa Timur dan perlakuan dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Pascapanen, Universitas Trilogi. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dua faktor. Faktor pertama yaitu Stadia kematangan terdiri atas 2 taraf yaitu: Stadia kematangan 4 dan stadia kematangan 5. Faktor kedua adalah jenis pengemasan terdiri atas 4 taraf yaitu: kemasan kardus (pemisah buah berupa kertas koran), kemasan kardus (pemisah buah berupa kertas koran dan Foamnet), kemasan keranjang (pemisah buah berupa kertas koran), Keranjang (pemisah buah berupa kertas koran dan Foamnet). Ulangan dilakukan sebanyak 3 kali. Peubah-peubah yang diamati meliputi persentase kerusakan, skoring warna, skoring penampilan, persentase susut bobot, dan persentase kerusakan selama distribusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan Stadia kematangan 4, dengan menggunakan kemasan keranjang (pemisah buah berupa kertas koran dan Foamnet) dengan akhir masa simpan 6 hari setelah panen adalah perlakuan terbaik dengan nilai persentase kerusakan sangat baik (Kulit dan sirip belimbing mulus (0% - 10%)); persentase susut bobot yang masih tergolong rendah yaitu 0% sampai 10%; warna yang ditunjukkan adalah kuning; dan skoring penampilan dengan nilau 3.83 yang berarti menarik.

Abstract

One effort that can be made to reduce starfruit damage is harvesting at the right stage of maturity and choosing the proper packaging. The research objective was to obtain the right maturity stage and type of packaging to reduce the percentage of damage and preserve quality during the distribution process of starfruit. The research was carried out at the Trilogi University. The harvesting and packaging process was carried out at Attaqie Farm, East Java. The study was conducted from October 2022 to March 2023. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design with two factors; the first factor was the stage of maturity (S), consisting of 2 levels: S-4 and S-5). The second factor was the type of packaging composed of 4 levels: cardboard packaging (fruit sealed with newspaper); cardboard packaging (fruit sealed with newspaper and foam net); basket packaging (fruit sealed with newspaper); and basket (fruit sealed with newspaper and foam net), replicated three times. The variables observed were the percentage of fruit damage, °Hue value, taste scoring, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and Total Titratable Acidity (TTA). The research results showed that starfruit could still be accepted by consumers until the 6th day, with the best treatment in SK-4, which is basket packaging type (fruit sealed with newspaper and foam net). This treatment had good results, as indicated by the damage percentage value of 7.67%, taste score of above 3.5, TDS of 9.66, °Hue value of 99.89 with less bright colors, and TTA of 0.50.
