Abstract

This study aims to determine the library's efforts to save collections when facing a disaster, especially disasters caused by human activities. Disasters in the form of human activities that can harm the library, such as theft, lack of security in institutions, fires and so on. The method used in this research is descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques by means of observation, interviews and documentation studies. Informants in this study amounted to two people. The results of the study show that the Museum Library of the Asian-African Conference has chosen disaster preparedness efforts which are seen from four stages, namely, the prevention stage, the response stage, the reaction stage, and the recovery stage. The prevention stage is by carrying out an inspection of the library environment by the librarian and installing CCTV cameras. The response phase is by providing librarian disaster preparedness training and collaborating with the National Library of Indonesia in library collection preservation activities. The reaction stage, using evacuation route signs, APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher), and deposit boxes in the event of a disaster. The recovery phase is by collecting damage data and asking the National Library of Indonesia for help.Keywords: disaster preparedness, collection rescue, Asian African Conference Museum LibraryABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui upaya perpustakan dalam menyelamatkan koleksi ketika menghadapi suatu bencana, terutama bencana yang disebabkan oleh ulah manusia. Bencana berupa ulah manusia yang dapat membahayakan di perpustakaan ini seperti pencurian, kurangnya pengamanan yang ada dalam institusi, kebakaran dan lain sebagainya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara observasi, wawancara serta studi dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah dua orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Perpustakaan Museum Konferensi Asia Afrika sudah memilihi upaya kesiapsiagaan bencana yang dilihat dari empat tahap yaitu, tahap pencegahan, tahap tanggapan, tahap reaksi, dan tahap pemulihan. Tahap pencegahan dengan melakukan pemeriksaan lingkungan perpustakaan oleh pustakawan serta memasang kamera CCTV. Tahap tanggapan yaitu dengan memberi pelatihan kesiapsiagaan bencana pustakawan dan menjalin kerjasama dengan Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia dalam kegiatan preservasi koleksi perpustakaan. Tahap reaksi, dengan menggunakan rambu-rambu jalur evakuasi, APAR (Alat Pemadam Api Ringan), dan deposit box apabila terjadi bencana. Tahap pemulihan dengan melakukan pendataan kerusakan, dan meminta bantuan Perpustakaan Nasional Republik Indonesia.

Abstract

Bandung City Archives and Library Service carries out library promotion activities using Instagram social media. However, the level of visits and borrowing of library collections at Bandung City Archives and Library Service tends to be little and the visualization and content on Instagram social media is not very attractive, tending to frequently upload content regarding official activities. So that promotion of the library has not fully been able to generate desire and has not been optimal enough to attract audiences in generating visits and utilizing library facilities. The purpose of this study was to find out and describe the use of social media Instagram as a library promotional medium in increasing the number of visitors and the number of borrowing library collections at Bandung City Archives and Library Service using AIDA model. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results showed that the use of social media Instagram as a promotional medium for the library of Bandung City Archives and Library Service had achieved an AIDA model, namely being able to attract attention, maintain interest, generate desire, and generate action. So that Instagram social media as a library promotion media has succeeded in increasing the number of visitors and the number of borrowing library collections at Bandung City Archives and Library Service. Keywords: instagram social media, library promotion, AIDA ABSTRAK Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Kota Bandung melakukan kegiatan promosi perpustakaan dengan menggunakan media sosial Instagram. Tetapi tingkat kunjungan dan peminjaman koleksi perpustakaan di Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Kota Bandung cenderung sedikit dan visualisasi serta konten pada media sosial Instagram belum terlalu menarik, cenderung sering mengunggah konten mengenai kegiatan dinas. Sehingga promosi perpustakaan belum sepenuhnya dapat menimbulkan keinginan dan belum cukup optimal menarik khalayak dalam menghasilkan tindakan berkunjung dan memanfaatkan fasilitas perpustakaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah ingin mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan penggunaan media sosial Instagram sebagai media promosi perpustakaan dalam meningkatkan jumlah pengunjung serta jumlah peminjaman koleksi perpustakaan di Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Kota Bandung menggunakan model AIDA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial Instagram sebagai media promosi perpustakaan Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Kota Bandung telah mencapai model AIDA yaitu dapat menarik perhatian, mempertahankan ketertarikan, menimbulkan keinginan, dan menghasilkan tindakan. Sehingga media sosial Instagram sebagai media promosi perpustakaan berhasil meningkatkan jumlah pengunjung serta jumlah peminjaman koleksi perpustakaan di Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Kota Bandung.

Abstract

Good furniture can certainly make users feel comfortable, safe, and free from any complaints or discomfort while carrying out activities. Therefore, there is a need for ergonomic furniture that can support the activities of library managers and library users. This research aims to determine the availability of furniture for library managers and users using the ENASE ergonomic approach at the Dinas Perpustakaan and Arsip of Bandung Regency. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The objects of this research are the furniture for library managers and library users, including work desks and chairs, as well as reading desks and chairs. The subjects of this research are three librarians, two library staff members, three library users, and head of library management division. The data collection methods used in this research are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis process in this research includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The validation of the research results is using members check. The results of the research show that the desks and chairs used by library managers and reading desks for library users available at the Dinas Perpustakaan and Arsip of Bandung Regency, can be considered ergonomic since they satisfy four out of the five aspects: effective, comfort, safety, and efficiency. However, the aspect of health remains unfulfilled due to ongoing complaints expressed by the library manager regarding the usage of the available work facilities, which do not meet the standards outlined in PERMENKES No. 48 of 2016. The health aspect is also not fully met for reading desks used by library users, as there are still complaints and discomfort experienced by users when using the furniture. However, Dinas Perpustakaan and Arsip of Bandung Regency has provided alternative options so users can adjust the furniture they will use.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the importance of digital literacy in the New Habit Adaptation Era that must be implemented by libraries through various existing services. The research method used is a literature study. The results of the study show that the period of Adaptation to New Habits caused by the Covid-19 pandemic since the beginning of 2020 has brought changes to all activities carried out by humans. Including the library which is a public service institution and media literacy. In providing information services and media literacy, having a library has a strategic role to educate the public, not only as a source of information and knowledge for every user. However, the library also acts as a lifelong learning medium that supports improving the quality of public education. This makes the library must be adaptive to the times in accordance with the dynamic and changing needs of users. One of the changes in user needs is influenced by the development of Information and Communication Technology which coincides with the pandemic period. Libraries must transform their management and service activities that lead to the use of technology which has become a necessity. This library transformation aims so that existing resources can be utilized by users optimally, so digital literacy needs to be developed to build the nation's character. Dimensions of digital literacy include tools and systems; information and data; sharing and creation; and historical and cultural contexts. Thus, the digital literacy capabilities possessed by library human resources and users will build a strong synergy in the use of libraries.Keywords: digital literacy; new normal; library ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pentingnya literasi digital di Era Adaptasi Kebiasaan Baru yang harus diterapkan oleh perpustakaan melalui berbagai layanan yang ada. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah studi literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masa Adaptasi Kebiasaan Baru yang diakibatkan oleh pandemi Covid-19 sejak awal Tahun 2020 telah membawa perubahan pada seluruh aktivitas yang dilakukan manusia. Termasuk di perpustakaan yang merupakan institusi pelayanan publik dan media literasi. Dalam memberikan layanan informasi dan media literasi memiliki perpustakaan memiliki peran strategis untuk mencerdaskan masyarakat tidak hanya sebagai sumber informasi dan pengetahuan bagi setiap pemustaka. Namun, perpustakaan juga berperan sebagai media pembelajaran sepanjang hayat yang mendukung peningkatan kualitas pendidikan masyarakat. Hal ini menjadikan perpustakaan harus adaptif terhadap perkembangan zaman sesuai dengan kebutuhan pemustaka yang dinamis dan berubah-rubah. Perubahan kebutuhan pemustaka ini salah satunya dipengaruhi oleh perkembangan Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi yang bertepatan dengan masa pandemik. Perpustakaan harus melakukan transformasi pengelolaan maupun kegiatan layanannya yang mengarah kepada penggunaan teknologi yang telah menjadi suatu keniscayaan. Transformasi perpustakaan ini bertujuan agar sumber daya yang ada dapat dimanfaatkan oleh pemustaka secara optimal, maka literasi digital perlu dikembangkan untuk membangun karakter bangsa. Dimensi literasi digital meliputi alat dan sistem; informasi dan data; berbagi dan kreasi; serta konteks sejarah dan budaya. Dengan demikian, kemampuan literasi digital yang dimiliki oleh sumber daya manusia perpustakaan dan pemustaka akan terbangun sinergi yang kuat dalam pemanfaatan perpustakaan.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that information technology in the university library system has a role to assist librarians in carrying out their roles and functions. With the implementation of SLiMS in the management of the library system, especially in processing collections, it is expected to improve the performance of librarians as an important part of the education system. The results showed that the librarian of the collection processing department in utilizing SLiMS was basically quite skilled. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the skills of librarians in using the SLiMS bibliography module can be said to be skilled, because SLiMS can help work without any difficulties in its operation. The librarian's skill in using the SLiMS added new bibliography feature can be said to be skilled, because SLiMS is very helpful in doing data entry for new collections quickly and easily. The librarian's skills in verifying bibliographic data always use the bibliographic list sub menu and the exemplar data sub menu in deleting or editing the bibliographic data available in the SLiMS database. The obstacles experienced by librarians in bibliographic data entry are determining the title of the main entry for works written by more than three people, adaptations, editors, and corporate body works.Keywords: librarian skills, bibliographic data entry, SLiMSABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh suatu kenyataan, bahwa teknologi informasi pada sistem perpustakaan perguruan tinggi memiliki peranan untuk membantu pustakawan dalam menjalankan peran dan fungsinya. Dengan diterapkannya SLiMS pada pengelolaan sistem perpustakaan khususnya dalam pengolahan koleksi diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kinerja pustakawan sebagai salah satu bagian penting dalam sistem pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa pustakawan bagian pengolahan koleksi dalam memanfaatkan SLiMS pada dasarnya cukup terampil. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan, bahwa keterampilan pustakawan dalam memanfaatkan SLiMS modul bibliografi dapat dikatakan terampil, karena SLiMS dapat membantu pekerjaan tanpa adanya kesulitan dalam pengoperasiannya. Keterampilan pustakawan memanfaatkan SLiMS fitur tambah bibliografi baru dapat dikatakan terampil, karena SLiMS sangat membantu dalam melakukan entri data koleksi baru dengan cepat dan mudah. Keterampilan pustakawan dalam melakukan verifikasi data bibliografi selalu menggunakan sub menu daftar bibliografi dan sub menu data eksemplar dalam menghapus atau mengedit data bibliografi yang tersedia di dalam database SLiMS. Hambatan yang dialami oleh pustakawan dalam entri data bibliografi adalah menentukan tajuk entri utama karya yang ditulis oleh lebih dari tiga orang, karya saduran, karya editor, karya badan korporasi.
