Abstract

Introduction: HIV is an infection that attacks the immune system which is characterized by a decrease in CD4+ cells with MSM as the 2nd largest contributor globally. PPrP serves as an additional option in the prevention of HIV-negative MSM from becoming infected with HIV. Objective: This study was conducted to review more deeply the role of pre-exposure prophylaxis in reducing the risk of contracting HIV in male sex groups with HIV negative men and to review the effectiveness and implementation of HIV/AIDS pre-exposure prophylaxis in male sex men so that it is expected to be a consideration in efforts to combat HIV/AIDS. Methods: Literature search was conducted from journal articles published online in the period 2012-2021. The databases used are ScienceDirect, Pubmed, Google Scholar, and Cochrane. Results: The study showed that the factors that significantly affected the high prevalence of HIV cases among MSM were anal sex and based on the findings the use of PrEP showed a significant effectiveness for the MSM group with pre-exposure prophylaxis as a preventive measure in dealing with HIV positive cases. Conclusion: PrEP has been shown to significantly reduce the risk of contracting HIV in HIV-negative MSM groups and has the potential to be an additional prevention option so that it can be applied in efforts to prevent HIV infection and reduce the spread of HIV in MSM.

Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, facial dermatitis namely acne due to masks (maskne), is well-recognized.. This disorder arises due to long-term use of masks, and leads to acne eruption. Maskne often occurs in society and the medical community, especially in the young age group. Wearing a mask can cause humidity and high skin temperature, which allows the growth of acne-causing bacteria, increased sweating, and continuous friction of the skin with the mask, which triggers the appearance of a maskne. Therefore, a good understanding of maskne, especially among adolescents, needs to be addressed and improved if necessary. The results of observations on Class X (Social Class) Kalam Kudus II Senior High School Jakarta showed that the understanding of maskne was not comprehensive. After the students received counseling about maskne, an increase in knowledge about maskne was obtained. This shows that knowledge about maskne as a type of disorder that emerged during the Covid-19 pandemic needs to be disseminated so that correct information can be obtained by the public.

Drug abuse in adolescents is a serious problem that requires a holistic approach to addressing it. Community education, early detection, and brief counseling are the three main activities that can help prevent and overcome drug abuse in adolescents. Community outreach activities aim to increase youth's understanding of the dangers and negative consequences associated with drug abuse. Community service activities were carried out at one of the high schools (SMA) in Duri Kosambi which included 178 teenagers. Based on the results of the Drug Abuse Screening Test (DAST) questionnaire, it was found that 166 (93.3%) respondents had a scale of 1-5 points. All participants underwent brief counseling and it was found that there were no teenagers with indications of drug abuse. Overall, community outreach activities, early detection, and brief counseling are a comprehensive approach in preventing and overcoming drug abuse in adolescents. Through this approach, it is hoped that adolescents can gain a better understanding of the dangers of drugs, as well as get the necessary support and assistance to overcome these problems.
