Abstract

Produktivitas tanaman sawi keriting (Brassica chinensis var. Parachinensis) berfluktuasi akibat  kesuburan tanah yang rendah. Salah satu upaya dalam peningkatan produktivitas tanaman sawi keriting yaitu melalui penggunaan pupuk organik cair-bioslurry. Penelitian bertujan untuk mengkaji pengaruh  berbagai dosis nitrogen berbasis bioslurry dan waktu aplikasi pemupukan serta interaksi keduanya terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tanaman sawi keriting. Penelitian telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei – Juli 2022 di Desa Karaskepoh, Kecamatan Lasem, Kabupaten Rembang (6º43’32” LS dan 111º27’34” BT), Provinsi Jawa Tengah dan Laboratorium Ekologi dan Produksi Tanaman Fakultas Peternakan dan Pertanian, Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang, Jawa Tengah. Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) faktorial 4x3 dengan 3 ulangan digunakan dalam percobaan sehingga terdapat 36 satuan unit percobaan. Faktor pertama adalah berbagai level dosis nitrogen berbasis Pupuk Organik Cair-bioslurry (POC-bioslurry) terdiri dari (0 kg N/ha setara 0 ml/tanaman) K0; (100 kg N/ha setara 29 ml/tanaman) K1; (200 kg N/ha setara 58 ml/tanaman) K2; dan (300 kg N/ha setara 87 ml/tanaman) K3. Faktor kedua adalah perlakuan  pemupukan yang aplikasikan setiap 4, 7 dan 10 hari, berturut-turut untuk P1, P2 dan P3. Parameter yang diamati termasuk tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, panjang akar, kadar air tanaman, kandungan klorofil total, serapan nitrogen, berat kering tajuk, berat kering akar, nisbah tajuk akar, berat segar tajuk, dan indeks panen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan interaksi antara perlakuan 200 kg N/ha setara 58 ml/tanaman dengan aplikasi pemupukan 4 hari (K2P1) berpengaruh nyata pada parameter pertumbuhan tanaman seperti jumlah daun, luas daun, dan panjang akar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dosis 200kg N/ha dan aplikasi setiap 4 hari sekali paling sesuai untuk diaplikasikan dalam budidaya tanaman sawi keriting.

Abstract

This study was aimed to determine the effect of humic acid, N, P, and K fertilizer and the interaction of the two treatments on the growth and production of sweet corn. The field experiment was carried out on August 02 – October 12, 2021 in Tembalang Sub-district, Semarang City and at the Ecology and Plant Production Laboratory, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, Semarang (7o03’17” S dan 110o26’28” E). The factorial experiment with a 3 x 3 randomized block design with 3 replications was used in the study. The first factor was consisted of 20, 25, and 30 kg of humic acid/ha, respectively for M1, M2 and M3.The second factor was the dose of fertilizer N, P, and K which consisted of 100%, 75%; and 50% of the recommended dose, for P1, P2 and P3 respectively.The 100% of recommended dose was200 kg N/ha, 154 kg P2O5/ha, 125 kg K2O/ha. Parameters observed consisted of plant height, number of leaves, number of cobs, and weight of cobs. The data obtained were analyzed by using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan's test at 5% was used for further analysis. The results showed that the dose of humic acid had a significant effect on the parameters of plant height and number of leaves.  Keywords: dose, humic acid, sweet corn

Abstract

This study was aimed to examine the effect of nitrogen-based fertilizers based on coffee grounds and types of planting media on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.). The research was carried out on October 03, 2021 – March 20, 2022, at the Green House and at the Ecology and Plant Production Laboratory, Faculty of Animal and Agricultual Sciences, Diponegoro University, Semarang. The factorial experiment with a 4 x 3 completely randomized design with 3 replication was used in the study. The first factor (P) consist of 4 levels of nitrogen dose based on coffee grounds organic fertilizer (CGOF) , namely P0 = control, P1 = 150 kg N/ha equivalent to 10,5 tons CGOF/ha, P2 = 170 kg N/ha equivalent to 11,9 tons CGOF/ha and P3 = 190 kg N/ha equivalent to 13,3 tons CGOF/ha. The second factor (M) consists of several kinds of planting media, namely M1 = soil, M2 = soil + husk charcoal (3:1) and M3 = soil + cocopeat (3:1). The recommended dose of nitrogen used in the study was 170 kg N/ha. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, root length, fresh weight, plant dry weight, harvest index and root crown ratio. The data obtained were tested using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and the results that significantly affected the observed parameters were then further tested using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at the level 5%.Keywords: dose, nitrogen, coffee grounds, mustard greens.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of nitrogen doses based on water hyacinth compost and the fermentation time on the growth and production of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.). The research was carried out from March 24 to May 29, 2021 at the Greenhouse, Ecology and Plant Production Laboratory, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences. A 5 x 3 factorial experiment based on a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 replications was used in this study. The first factor was the dose of nitrogen-based water hyacinth compost (WHC) 0 kg N/ha, K0; 69 kg N/ha equivalent to 4.1 tons of WHC/ha, K1; 138 kg N/ha equivalent to 8.2 tons of WHC/ha, K2; 207 kg N/ ha is equivalent to 12.3 tons of WHC/ha, K3; and 276 kg N/ha is equivalent to 16.4 tons of WHC/ha, K4. The second factor was the fermentation time during the composting process which consists of 21, 28 and 35 days, respectively. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf area, chlorophyll content, shoot and root fresh weight, harvest index. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and tested further using Duncan's test at 5% level. Based on the research results, it may be concluded that the best performance of pakcoy was achieved at a WHC-based nitrogen dose of 276 kgN/ha and at 35 days. Keywords : nitrogen dose, ripening time, pakcoy

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of the experiment was to evaluate the effect of incubation time of liquid organic fertilizer and nitrogen doses on the growth and production of cherry tomatoes. The experiment was conducted at the sreen house of Department of Agriculture of Semarang City and at the Ecology and Crop Production Laboratory of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University from May-September 2017. A completely randomized design of 3x3 factorial patterns was used throughout the experiment. The first factor consisted of the incubation time of liquid organic fertilizer 6, 12 and 18 days, respectively for I1, I2 and 13 treatments. The second factor was the doses of nitrogen that consisted of three levels 36, 72 and 180 kgN/ha as D1, D2 and D3 treatments, respectively. Observed data included plant height, fresh and dry weight of stover, harvest index, fruit production and fruit sets. Obtained data were analyzed statistically by using ANOVA and continued with the smallest significant difference test at 5%. On the basis of the experiment it may be concluded that all of LOF with different of incubation time at dose of 72 kg N/ha may be recommended for cherry tomatoes cultivation.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The study was aimed to evaluate the effect of spacing of Odot elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum cv. Mott) and variety of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) on the growth and yield of these two plants in a mixed cropping system. A randomized block design in a 2 × 4 factorial pattern with 3 replications was used in the study. The first factor was spacing of Odot elephant grass consisted of J1: 60 × 90 cm and J2: 45 x 90 cm. The second factor was several varieties of sweet potato, namely V1: Pating-1, V2: Beta-2, V3: Kidal and V4: Papua Solossa. Parameters observed were plant height, dry matter production, crude protein and crude fiber content of Odot elephant grass, as well as production of tubers, dry matter of leaves, crude protein, crude fiber and brix content of sweet potato. The results showed that there was no significant effect of Odot elephant grass spacing on all parameters studied except plant height on the 5th week of observation. Meanwhile, there was a significant effect on all parameters observed due to the treatment of sweet potato varieties. It was concluded that Odot elephant grass may be mixed with various sweet potato varieties such as Pating-1, Beta-2, Kidal and Papua Solossa, especially if there were no pests attacking the Odot elephant grass at the beginning of its growth. Further research with a more varied spacing of Odot elephant grass spacing is highly recommended. Mott) dan varietas ubi jalar (Ipomoea batatas L.) terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil kedua tanaman pada sistem tanam campuran. Rancangan acak kelompok pola faktorial 2 × 4 dengan 3 ulangan digunakan dalam penelitian. Faktor pertama adalah jarak tanam rumput gajah Odot terdiri dari J1:60 × 90 cm dan J2: 45 x 90 cm. Faktor kedua adalah beberapa varietas ubi jalar yaitu V1: Pating-1, V2: Beta-2, V3: Kidal dan V4: Papua Solossa. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, produksi bahan kering, kandungan protein kasar dan serat kasar rumput gajah Odot, serta produksi umbi, bahan kering daun, protein kasar, serat kasar dan kadar brix ubi jalar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat pengaruh nyata jarak tanam rumput gajah Odot terhadap semua parameter yang diteliti kecuali tinggi tanaman pada minggu ke-5 pengamatan. Terdapat pengaruh nyata pada semua parameter yang diamati akibat perlakuan varietas ubi jalar. Tidak ada pengaruh interaksi kedua perlakuan terhadap semua parameter yang diamati. Disimpulkan bahwa rumput gajah Odot dapat dicampur tanam dengan berbagai varietas ubi jalar seperti Pating-1, Beta-2, Kidal dan Papua Solossa, terutama jika tidak ada hama yang menyerang rumput gajah Odot pada awal pertumbuhannya. Penelitian lebih lanjut dengan jarak tanam rumput gajah Odot yang lebih bervariasi sangat disarankan. Kata kunci: hasil samping pertanian; pakan alternatif; protein; serat; tanaman pakan
