Abstract

Mathematical reasoning is one of the reasons students need in understanding creatives ideas. One approach to further develop mathematical reasoning is to play problem solving. By using this approach, students are expected to be directly involved in formulating, managing, and solving their own problems without the intervention of others. So in this study intends to examine the role of problem solving in improving mathematical reasoning skills. In this study, Mix methods is an approach with a Quasi Experimental Design Method as a form of comparison design. The subjects used were the control class which received cpntional learning and the experimental class which received assistance with a problem solving approach. The research was conducted at Ibrahimy University in the odd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. Data collection was carried out starting from observation, tests, interviews, and documentation. The analysis technique used is decriptive qualitative and quantitative with paired samples test. The result of the study showed a significance value of (0,003  0,05) that the role of problem solving can improves student’s mathematical reasoning abilities with massive, active, and creative use being the key in this method. Abstract

The mentoring and training activities for junior high school teachers in the innovation of the Caring Community-based PBL learning model go through three stages, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. At the planning stage, the process of identifying problems, making work plans (work plans), and classifying teaching practice tasks is carried out. There are 5 groups with the same target material. At the implementation stage, it consists of two stages; 1) training on caring community learning models with a student centered approach which includes group model class management techniques, learning media design. 2) mentoring the learning practices of junior high school teachers in the classroom based on the ability level group, group L, and group M. Evaluation activities are carried out at the end of the activity to make improvements to mistakes, teacher weaknesses in the process of implementing the learning model.

Abstract

This research is a literature study with a descriptive qualitative approach to the type of literature that seeks to explain the important role of statistics in modern Islamic education and economics. In this literature study, researchers used various written sources such as books, articles, journals and other supporting documents relevant to the study. This study focuses on the discourse of statistical science and its role in the field of Islamic education and economics in the modern era. The results of the study show that statistics have been widely used by the public on various field such as politics, education, government, economics, and business. In education, statistics help students and learners or education practitioners in understanding data, measurement instruments, data analysis techniques, and drawing conclusions, both as evaluations and continuing education research. While in business, statistics can be applied to business calculations in the form of trend index numbers, dividend calculations, probability of profit in investments and stocks. Specifically, statistics have an important role in the banking sector, stock sector, capital market sector, insurance sector, multifinance and micro sector. Statistics present a lot of detailed and systematic information or data. Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan baru bagi calon guru serta melatih keterampilan calon guru dalam menyelesaikan soal berbasis literasi numerasi bernuansa nilai keislaman. Metode yang digunakan adalah PAR (Participatory Action Research) dengan 3 tahapan: Persiapan, Pelaksanaan, dan Evaluasi. Data diperoleh dari Pre-test dan Post-test. Data diperoleh dari hasil pre-test dan post-test kemudian diuji perbedaan dua rata-ratanya dengan menggunakan SPSS. Diperoleh nilai rata-rata pre-test 65,05 sedangkan rata-rata post-test 81,05. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan yang signifikan dari calon guru dalam membuat soal literasi-numerasi serta pelaksanaan pelatihan pembuatan soal berbasis literasi numerasi bernuansa islami terlaksana dengan baik dan mendapatkan respon yang positif.Kata kunci: Pelatihan, Literasi, Numerasi, Nilai Keislaman

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the increase in students' learning outcomes of geometry material at MTs Nuris Jember used a problem-based learning model. This type of research was classroom action research with a model design consisting of four steps: planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Data collection techniques used tests and observations. The instruments used essay questions and checklists of student activities in class. Thirty students of class VII at MTs Nuris Jember served as the subjects, and samples were collected using purposive random sampling. In this study, descriptive and inferential statistics were employed in the data analysis for this investigation. It could be seen from the research results that the initial condition of the average test score was 61.33, meaning that 30% of students had passed the learning in the pre-cycle. In standard Cycle I, the average test score was 66.83, and 47% of students had reached standard learning. In Cycle II, the average score of students' tests was 71.67, and 83% of students had reached the standard learning. The significance test results of the average value showed a significant difference in average test results between students' mathematics learning outcomes in Cycle I and Cycle II, with a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05. Based on the observation result of students' activity in the second Cycle, the average observation result for students' activities was 79,45% in the good category and got an alphabet score of B.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze logical-mathematical intelligence in problem-solving in terms of adversity quotient. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research subjects were fifth-semester students of the Tarbiyah Faculty, Ibrahimy University. Data collection techniques using questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The questionnaire was conducted using a Likert adversity quotient scale. The results of the Likert adversity quotient scale analysis of students are grouped into 3 categories, namely: quitter, camper, and climber. Tests in the form of problem-solving questions were carried out to measure students' logical-mathematical intelligence. Interviews were conducted with 6 students based on the adversity quotient category and level of ability on the test results. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner, in the form of a theory of induction and data reduction. The results of the research based on the adversity quotient category and ability test results show that: 1) In the quitter category, there are 3 students with low ability (10%). 2) In the camper category, there are 2 students with low ability (6.7%), 10 students with medium ability (33.3%), and 3 students with high ability (10%). 3) In The climber category, there are 6 students with moderate abilities (20%) and 6 students with high abilities (20%).

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep integral dalam kalkulus serta penerapannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari melalui pendekatan tinjauan pustaka kontekstual-tematik. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur yang didasarkan pada berbagai sumber ilmiah relevan, termasuk jurnal nasional dan internasional serta buku ajar kalkulus terapan. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa konsep integral tidak hanya penting dalam konteks akademik, tetapi juga memiliki peran praktis di berbagai bidang seperti transportasi (menghitung jarak dari grafik kecepatan terhadap waktu), ekonomi (akumulasi keuntungan), ilmu lingkungan (mengukur limbah atau polusi), dan kesehatan (menentukan dosis obat berdasarkan laju penyerapan). Kebaruan dari penelitian ini terletak pada pendekatan klasifikasi tematik dan aplikatif yang belum banyak dibahas secara sistematis dalam literatur sebelumnya. Tinjauan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan literasi matematis fungsional dan memberikan ilustrasi konkret bahwa konsep integral bersifat kontekstual dan aplikatif dalam kehidupan modern.

Abstract

This study employs a qualitative research approach, utilizing a library research method and interdisciplinary conceptual analysis, to explore the meaning of charity (Sedekah) in the Al-Qur'an and formulate a conceptual model that represents the principle of reward multiplication. Primary data are derived from Al-Qur'an verses and hadiths, particularly QS. Al-Baqarah: 261 and QS. Al-An'am: 160. Secondary data are obtained from classical and contemporary tafsir, scientific journals, and relevant literature in Islamic economics, mathematics education, and the integration of science and religion. The analysis was conducted through thematic interpretation and Islamic hermeneutics, followed by the conceptual formulation of reward multiplication using logical mathematical approaches through functional equations. This approach aims to illustrate how a single act of good deed, particularly charity, from an Islamic perspective, can yield multiplied rewards in a rational and structured manner. The findings suggest that charity holds a broad and profound meaning, occupying a significant position in Islamic teachings as a social act that promises multiple rewards. These results contribute to a more systematic and rational understanding of Islamic teachings, enriching scientific and economic perspectives on the practice of charity in contemporary contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of a Problem Based Learning (PBL) model integrated with Caring Community in mathematics teaching materials on vectors at SMA Ibrahimy 2 Sukorejo, addressing students’ persistent difficulties in mathematical problem-solving due to conventional approaches that neglect affective dimensions. Using a sequential explanatory mixed methods design, the study involved 30 students in the experimental class and 31 in the control class. Data were collected through learning achievement tests and observation, then analyzed quantitatively (normality test, homogeneity test, t-test, and normalized gain) and qualitatively (thematic analysis). Results show the experimental class’s mean post-test score (82.40) was significantly higher than the control class (68.50) (p = 0.000). Qualitative findings reveal that Caring Community fostered an empathetic, collaborative classroom climate that enhanced active participation and reduced math anxiety. The study concludes that the PBL Caring Community model effectively improves students’ mathematical abilities and aligns with the pesantren-based cultural context emphasizing solidarity and care.
