Abstract

Keong mas telah menjadi hama utama pada tanaman padi, terutama pada areal sawah beirigasi. Serangan keong mas terjadi pada anakan yang masih muda, sehingga jumlah anakan produktif menjadi berkurang. Pengendalian keong mas pada tanaman padi umumnya masih menggunakan pestisida kimia (sintetis). Penggunaan pestisida kimia menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan. Hal ini perlu dipertimbangkan terutama dampak residu terhadap lingkungan, kesehatan manusia dan terhadap mahluk hidup lainnya. Oleh sebab itu perlu alternatif lain yang lebih aman dalam pengendalian keong mas diantaranya dengan memanfaatkan tanaman yang ramah lingkungan menjadi pestisida nabati. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh pestisida nabati terhadap mortalitas dan rata-rata kecepatan waktu kematian hama keong mas (Pomacea canaliculata L). Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non factorial dengan 4 perlakuan yaitu P0 ( Tampa pestisida Nabati), Pl (Pestisida Nabati Daun Salam), Pb (Pestisida Nabati aun Jambu Biji) dan Pj (Pestisida Nabati Daun Jati) dengan dosis masing-masing pestisida nabati 350 ml. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pestisida nabati berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap mortalitas dan rata-rata kecepatan waktu kematian hama keong mas (Pomacea canaliculata L) dari HSA 1 sampai dengan HSA 4 dibandingkan dengan kontrol.

Abstract

Keong mas atau siput murbei dengan bahasa latin Pomacea canikulata L, dari family Ampullariidae merupakan hama utama pada areal tanaman padi. Serangan keong mas terjadi pada anakan yang muda, sehingga jumlah anakan produktif menjadi berkurang. Untuk menekan populasi dan mengurangi kerusakan tanaman oleh keong mas dapat dilakukan upaya pengendalian. Pengendalian keong mas pada tanaman padi umumnya masih menggunakan pestisida kimia (sintetis). Penggunaan pestisida kimia menimbulkan dampak negatif bagi lingkungan. Abstract

Hasil observasi dari potensi di desa Dham Pulo Kecamatan Ingin Jaya Kabupaten Aceh Besar menunjukkan bahwa disana cocok sosialisasi pembuatan pupuk NPK organik cair yang ramah lingkungan pada tanaman pertanian dan perkebunan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa limbah dapur/limbah rumah tangga dapat dijadikan pupuk organik dan banyak terdapat di Desa tersebut namun terdapat beberapa kendala yang menghambat pemanfaatan limah dapur ini, diantaranya kurangnya pengetahuan tentang pupuk organik serta masyarakat/petani lebih terbiasa menggunakan pupuk yang telah tersedia di pasaran. Padahal jika masyarakat fokus membuat sendiri pupuk organik maka dapat membuka peluang usaha rumah tangga di desa tersebut. Faktor pendukung dari kegiatan ini yaitu petani memang sangat membutuhkan pupuk yang ramah lingkungan dan aman untuk tanaman tanpa ada terkontaminasi zat kimia buatan. Masyarakat khususnya petani berharap kampus Politeknik Indonesia Venezuela sebagai salah satu perguruan tinggi di Aceh Besar dapat menjadi mitra petani dan dapat membantu memecahkan kendala-kendala yang ada di dalam budidaya tanaman.

Abstract

Meanwhile, the study entitled Correlation Analysis Between Watering Interval, Stem Height, Stem Diameter and Number of Leaves in Jackfruit Seedlings (Artocarpus Heterophyllus Lamk) is guided by the amount of watering of 100 ml which is based on the recommendation for the use of the best liquid fertilizer from the research of Mamik et al., (2020). The research will be carried out in the closed room experimental garden of the Plantation Management Study Program, Politeknik Indonesia Venezuela located in Cot Suruy Village, Ingin Jaya District, Aceh Besar Regency, from May 2024 to July 2024. The temperature in the experimental garden is set at 25oC – 28oC. To see the correlation analysis between the Watering Interval, Stem Height, Stem Diameter, and Number of Leaves in Jackfruit Seedlings (Artocarpus Heterophyllus Lamk) bivariate correlation analysis was used. There is a relationship between plant height, stem diameter, and number of leaves. There is no relationship between the length of the watering interval and the variables of plant height, stem diameter, and number of leaves. Table 6 shows that there are no variables that are strongly related and have a significant effect on the watering interval, plant height, stem diameter, and number of leaves. The decreasing amount of water causes plants to be unable to grow normally.

Abstract

Tomato plants are one of the most important vegetables after potatoes, eggplants, and chilies. Tomatoes can be eaten raw, they are also used as a flavoring ingredient in dishes, vegetables or made into soy sauce and sauces. the need for tomato plants is increasing every year. which type of organic mulch and variety is more appropriate for the growth of tomato plants, and how does the response of the three varieties of tomato plants to the type of organic mulch in increasing the growth and yield of tomato plants? Based on the description above, this study aimed to determine the best variety and type of organic mulch suitable for maximum growth and yield of tomato plants, as well as whether there was interaction between the two factors studied. This study used a 3 x 3 factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replications, so there were 27 experimental combinations. There are two factors studied, namely the variety factor (V) and the organic mulch factor (M). The results of this study that the variety of tomatoes has a very significant effect on Plant height (cm), Diameter of stem base (cm), Number of fruits per plant (fruit), Fruit weight per plant (g), Tomato fruit diameter (cm), Fruit weight (g). Organic mulch had no significant effect on Plant height (cm), Diameter of stem base (cm), Number of fruits per plant (fruit), Fruit weight per plant (g), Tomato fruit diameter (cm), and Fruit weight (g). The responses of the three tomato varieties were not significantly different to changes in the type of organic mulch in increasing the growth and yield of tomato plants.

Abstract

This study develops an aquaponics system using tarpaulin ponds and recycled plastic waste as planting media. Conducted in Gampong Ruyung, Mesjid Raya Subdistrict, Aceh Besar, the project involved community participation through socialisation and demonstration. The pond was constructed with durable tarpaulin and bamboo frames, while plastic bottles served as planting containers. A water circulation system with PVC pipes and aerators maintained water quality, enabling optimal growth of fish and vegetables. Results show that this aquaponics model is land- and water-efficient, environmentally friendly, and supports local knowledge and economic opportunities.

Abstract

Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) are organic compounds that are not classified as plant nutrients but are biologically active at low concentrations and can stimulate, inhibit, or modify plant growth and development. The objective of this community service program was to develop a fermentation technique for bamboo shoots into a PGR solution and to enhance farmers’ capacity through extension services and hands-on training. This program was implemented by lecturers and students of Politeknik Indonesia Venezuela in Cot Cut Village, Kutabaro Sub-district, Aceh Besar Regency. The activities included field observation and the fermentation of bamboo shoots to produce PGRs. The fermentation process successfully yielded a dark-colored PGR solution with a characteristic aroma. The local community of Cot Cut Village showed strong enthusiasm for this program because it used natural materials that are inexpensive, readily available, and environmentally friendly. This activity demonstrates that bamboo shoots have significant potential as a source of natural PGRs and can serve as an innovative component of environmentally sustainable agriculture. Through this approach, bamboo shoots are expected to provide a simple yet impactful solution in supporting sustainable, locally based agricultural practices in Cot Cut Village, Kutabaro Sub-district, Aceh Besar Regency.

Abstract

The rising international demand for agarwood has led to excessive harvesting from natural populations, creating serious concerns regarding the sustainability of this valuable resource. Therefore, the development of efficient and sustainable propagation methods has become increasingly important. One promising approach is in vitro culture, which enables large-scale plant multiplication. Nevertheless, the response of agarwood explants to cytokinin treatments, especially Benzyl Amino Purine (BAP), has not been clearly established. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different concentrations of BAP on the formation of shoots and leaves in agarwood explants cultured under laboratory conditions. The experiment was conducted in 2008 at the Tissue Culture Laboratory, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh. A Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a single factor was employed. Seven BAP concentrations were tested with seven replications, resulting in a total of 49 experimental units. The treatments consisted of 0, 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9, and 1.1 mg L⁻¹ BAP added to Murashige and Skoog (MS) culture medium. Observations on growth responses were recorded for eight weeks after culture initiation. The results of statistical analysis indicated that the variation in BAP concentration did not significantly influence the number of shoots or leaves produced by the explants. However, descriptive observations showed that the medium containing 0.3 mg L⁻¹ BAP tended to support relatively better growth compared with the other treatments. These findings imply that the tested BAP levels were not sufficiently effective in significantly stimulating the in vitro growth of agarwood explants. The study provides additional insight into the cytokinin response of agarwood under tissue culture conditions and may serve as a reference for future optimization of culture media to improve large-scale propagation strategies.
