Abstract

This study investigates the impact of corporate governance mechanisms on strategic risk management (SRM) and firm performance, with SRM examined as a mediating variable. Using a quantitative approach and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), data were collected from managerial-level respondents across firms operating in dynamic and high-risk environments. The results reveal that board independence and board expertise significantly enhance SRM practices, underscoring the role of effective oversight and domain knowledge in shaping strategic responses to risk. SRM is also found to have a strong positive effect on firm performance, demonstrating its strategic value in improving organizational resilience and competitive advantage. However, board independence, board expertise, and board size show no direct effect on firm performance, indicating that governance mechanisms influence outcomes primarily through risk management processes rather than direct governance intervention. Board size also exhibits no significant relationship with SRM, suggesting that capability and functional effectiveness matter more than structural characteristics. Furthermore, SRM significantly mediates the relationships between board independence and firm performance, and between board expertise and firm performance, confirming its role as a crucial conduit through which governance affects organizational results. Overall, the findings reinforce the importance of aligning governance quality with strategic risk practices to enhance firm performance in increasingly unpredictable business environments.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how effective the leadership of one-roof school principals is at SDN 10 Kisam Tinggi and One-roof SMPN Bandar Alam Lama OKU Selatan, as well as what are the inhibiting factors and supporting factors for the effectiveness of the leadership of one-roof school principals at SDN 10 Kisam Tinggi and One-roof SMPN Bandar Alam Lama OKU Selatan. This research uses descriptive research with a qualitative research approach. In this study, the informants were the principal, vice principal, and teacher. The data collection techniques in this study are observation, interviews, and documentation. At the same time, the method used in data analysis is data reduction—the presentation of data and conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the effectiveness of the leadership of the one-roof school principal at SDN 10 Kisam Tinggi and the one-roof SMPN Bandar Alam Selatan has been running effectively. The point of the principal's leadership is measured by the number of results issued, the level of satisfaction obtained, the creative product, and the intensity to be achieved. As for the inhibiting factors, namely schools that are far from the sub-district, signal difficulties, and a lack of teacher human resources, however, this has begun to be resolved with the strategy carried out by the school principal. The supporting factors are the presence of civil and non-civil servant teachers, as well as adequate facilities and infrastructure for the education process.

Abstract

Abstract

The proliferation of algorithmically curated digital content has introduced a neurological phenomenon increasingly referred to as "digital dopamine", the reward-loop mechanism by which engaging digital stimuli trigger repeated dopamine release, fostering habitual and addictive consumption patterns. This systematic literature review examines the intersection of this phenomenon with modern learning from the perspective of Educational Technology. Drawing on 20 peer-reviewed references published between 2021 and 2024, the study investigates how digital content addiction disrupts cognitive load, attention span, deep learning, and academic performance, while also exploring how Educational Technology practitioners can harness dopamine-driven design principles responsibly through gamification, adaptive learning, and AI-powered personalization. Results reveal that students with high digital content addiction exhibit significantly lower scores in deep learning (38% vs. 81%), attention span (45% vs. 78%), and academic performance (52% vs. 74%) compared to peers with low addiction profiles. Simultaneously, structured gamification and evidence-based digital engagement strategies demonstrate potential for redirecting dopamine-seeking behavior toward productive educational outcomes. The study concludes with a framework for "Positive Digital Engagement Design" (PDED) and recommendations for educators, technology designers, and policymakers seeking to balance engagement with educational integrity in the digital age.

Abstract

The shortening of human attention spans in the digital age—particularly among Generation Z and Generation Alpha—presents significant challenges to traditional instructional models that rely on extended, sustained engagement. Microlearning, defined as the delivery of educational content in short, focused, and modular units, has emerged as a strategically aligned response to this cognitive reality. This study conducts a systematic literature review of 20 peer-reviewed publications from 2021 to 2024, examining the theoretical foundations, practical implementations, technological enablers, and measurable outcomes of microlearning in digital educational contexts. Findings indicate that microlearning consistently improves knowledge retention, learner motivation, and self-directed learning when designed according to cognitive load theory and spaced repetition principles. Digital platforms—including TikTok, mobile LMS applications, AI-powered chatbots, and gamified environments—serve as effective delivery mechanisms for microlearning content. However, challenges including fragmentation of deep learning, over-reliance on passive consumption, and assessment validity require careful pedagogical consideration. The study concludes with a proposed framework for effective microlearning design in digital educational technology contexts.
