Abstract

Uncontrolled blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes mellitus will result in peripheral neuropathy in the lower extremities, so that the sensitivity of the feet will decrease. Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) assessment is necessary for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) patients to detect peripheral neuropathy early, particularly on the soles of the feet. Low ABI values that cause vascular disorders are influenced by increasing age, duration of DM and obesity. Objective: To determine the relationship between blood sugar levels and the ankle brachial index value of patients with diabetes mellitus in the Out-Patient Department (OPD) Siloam Hospital, Denpasar. Methods: This study employed a correlational research design with a cross-sectional approach, using simple random sampling to involve 227 respondents. The research instruments used were a Sphygmomanometer to measure the ABI value and a Glucometer (Glukotest) to measure the blood sugar levels of respondents. Data analysis was carried out using Spearman's rank correlation. Results:  Based on the value of blood sugar levels, it shows that the majority of respondents have a high category, namely 205 respondents (90.3%) and based on the value of the ankle brachial index (ABI), the majority of respondents' right foot ABI values are in the mild obstruction category, namely 128 respondents (56.4%) and the majority of the left foot has mild obstruction, namely 133 respondents (59.5%). The analysis yielded a p-value of 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between blood sugar levels and ankle brachial index (ABI) values. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between blood sugar levels and ABI index on T2DM. Keywords: ankle brachial index, blood sugar level, T2DM

Abstract

Introduction: COPD is a respiratory disease that causes chronic airflow disruption and progressive airway obstruction, as a result of many factors. The management of COPD therapy is carried out with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies. Various non-pharmacological techniques can be performed, including Balloon Blowing and Pursed Lips Breathing (PLB). Method: This study uses a quasi experimental research method (Quasi Experimental Design) with the research design used is Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Where the experimental group and the control group were not randomly selected. The results of the comparative test analysis of balloon blowing and pursed lips breathing exercises on the oxygen saturation of COPD patients in the HCU Room of Bali Mandara Hospital using the results of the Repeated ANOVA test Results: The results of the comparative test analysis of balloon blowing and pursed lips breathing exercises on the oxygen saturation of COPD patients in the HCU Room of Bali Mandara Hospital using the results of the Repeated ANOVA test obtained a p-value of 1,000 in the saturation before the intervention and a p-value of 0.304 in the column after the intervention, with a p value of > 0.05, showing that there was no difference between balloon blowing and pursed lips breathing exercises on the oxygen saturation level in COPD patients because Both interventions have an effect on increasing oxygen saturation in COPD patients in the HCU Room of Bali Mandara Hospital Conclusion: The results of this study are in line with a study that compared pursed lips breathing (PLB) and balloon blowing exercises to increase oxygen saturation in COPD patients, the results of which were no difference between PLB exercises and balloon blowing on oxygen saturation in COPD patients. There was an increase in clinical oxygen saturation due to the median value before the intervention: 94, however, there was no statistically significant improvement in the two interventions.

Abstract

Introduction: Socialization skills in preschool children are crucial as a foundation for preparing them for their future academic success. Parenting styles play a crucial role in character formation and socialization skills in children. This study aimed to determine the correlation between parenting styles and socialization skills of 4-5 years old children at Sai Prema Kumara Kindergarten, Denpasar. Method: This research employed a cross-sectional methodology. Purposive sampling was used to choose a sample of thirty-one people. The Chi-Square statistical test was performed to analyze the data. Results: The study’s findings revealed that the majority of parents’ parenting techniques were democratic (64.5%), while the majority of children demonstrated high socialization skills (71%). Bivariate analysis revealed a significant correlation between parenting styles and socialization skills in children aged 4-5 years at Sai Prema Kumara Kindergarten, Denpasar (p-value < 0.05). Future researchers are encouraged to investigate other variables that can give the appropriate stimulus to maximize sociability skills in preschool children. Conclusion: Based on the results of the analysis using the Chi-square statistical test between parental parenting and socialization ability in children aged 4-5 years at PAUD Sai Prema Kumara, the significance result obtained was 0.022 so that the p value < 0.05. This shows that there is a relationship between parental parenting and the socialization ability of children aged 4-5 years at PAUD Sai Prema Kumara.
