Abstract: Tuberculosis (TB) is a direct infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium Tuberculosis. Based on document searches, in 2023, Putri Ayu Health Center was one of the health centers with the highest incidence of TB and experienced an increase in cases compared to the previous year, reaching 95 cases. The purpose of the study was to determine the determinants of the incidence of pulmonary TB in productive age. The research design used in this study was Case Control. The research was conducted in the working area of the Putri Ayu Health Center. The research was conducted from May to July 2024. The study population was all cases of Tb in the Putri Ayu Health Center work area totaling 97 people. The research sample has a ratio of 1: 1 so that the sample amounted to 114 people. The sampling technique used in this study was Simple Random Sampling. Data analysis was done univariate and bivariate. The results showed a relationship between income (p value: 0.031) and contact history (p value: 0.024) to the incidence of TB. It is recommended that the community, especially those with low income and a history of TB contact, should receive more attention from health workers to ensure TB screening in communities with risk factors and with TB symptoms. Keywords: Income, Contact History, Tuberculosis.

Abstract

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic condition characterized by elevated blood glucose levels or hyperglycemia resulting from impaired insulin secretion, decreased sensitivity to insulin, or a combination of both. Based on preliminary studies conducted at the Sindang Barang Community Health Center, it was found that some patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus still experience problems with adherence to treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-efficacy and medication adherence in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. A cross-sectional study design was used in this study. The study was conducted in the working area of the Sindang Barang Community Health Center. The study was conducted in February 2025. The population consisted of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients at the Sindang Barang Community Health Center in Bogor. The research sample consisted of 88 respondents. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. The research instrument used was a research questionnaire. Data analysis was performed using univariate and bivariate methods. The results showed a relationship between self-efficacy (p value: 0.002) and medication adherence in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is recommended that the Sindang Barang Community Health Center in Bogor create broader communication between diabetes mellitus patients, their families, and health workers so that good medication adherence can be achieved in patients with type 2 DM. Keywords: Self-efficacy, Diabetes, Compliance.

Abstract

Background: Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a serious complication of diabetes mellitus, often leading to end-stage renal failure. Patient knowledge is a critical factor in preventing or slowing its progression. This study aimed to assess the level of knowledge regarding CKD risk among diabetic patients. Methods: A descriptive quantitative study was conducted in the working area of Talise Public Health Center, Palu. From a total population of 219, a sample of 69 respondents was selected using cluster random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire assessing knowledge of CKD etiology, symptoms, and risk factors. Knowledge levels were categorized as good, sufficient, or poor based on total scores. Results: The study found that less than half of the respondents (37.7%) had good knowledge of CKD risks. A plurality (47.8%) had sufficient knowledge, while 14.5% had poor knowledge. Conclusion: While most diabetic patients in this setting possess at least sufficient knowledge, the proportion with good knowledge remains under 40%. This indicates a significant need for enhanced and targeted patient education programs to improve understanding of CKD risks. Future research should investigate determinants of knowledge and develop effective community-based interventions for CKD prevention.
