Abstract

The country of Indonesia is currently published as the second largest contributor of plastic waste in the world, amounting to 28.4 thousand tons of plastic waste / day. Plastic has caused problems in the environment and become waste that is difficult to be reprocessed. Ecobricks (environmentally friendly brick) are made from plastic waste so that it can reduce environmental pollution caused by garbage so as to minimize the generation of plastic waste and prevent air from arising from the process of making ecobricks without having to go through surgery. This study discusses polypropylene (PP) glass packaging and refined aggregate containing carbonate mixtures with a variation of 5%, 7% and on the compressive strength and movement of concrete water according to PUBI, 1982. From the results of the research, the highest compressive strength of the concrete block with PP plastic mixture and 5% carbonate mixture at 28 days is 93 kg / cm2 . Batako at the time of 28 days, the highest absorption of air (absorption) occurred in a normal brick that is 14 66%.Keywords: ecobricks, polypropylene (PP), calcium carbonate, compressive strength, absorbtion

Abstract

Fires are caused by various factors, but generally the factors that cause fires namely human factors and technical factors. University of Riau is one of the educational institutions in Riau Province where there is a risk of fire. This study aims to evaluate and design emergency response systems and fire protection systems in the Faculty of Engineering Building, University of Riau. In evaluating and designing emergency response systems and fire protection systems the authors use references from Minister of Public Works No.26 / PRT / M / 2008, Permen PU No.20 / PRT / M / 2009, SNI, and use the assessment format of the Public Works Research and Development Agency 2005. The method used in this study is a quantitative descriptive method with a case study design, which compares the results of research in the field with applicable regulations. Based on the results of evaluations that have been carried out, the Emergency Response System of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau as a whole has not been fulfilled. The Fire Protection Facilities of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Riau Building are overall sufficient. For this reason, it is necessary to procure and improve the Emergency Response and Fire Protection System of the University of Riau's Faculty of Engineering Building as well as the maintenance of the available systems.Keywords: Fire, Evaluation, Emergency Response System, Fire Protection System

Abstract

The rapid economic development and community activities increasingly crowded cause appearance laundry business that effect on the environment. Ultrafiltration membrane is one of wastewater treatment technologies, but membranes have limitations such as the occurrence of the phenomenon of concentration polarization and fouling. The research objective of this study the effect of variations in transmembrane pressure against the rejection percentage COD, TSS , and the effect of variations in transmembrane pressure, concentration of washing of the efficiency and effectiveness of washing the membrane. the concentration of the washing of the efficiency and effectiveness of washing the membrane. The process of ultrafiltration membranes and membrane chemical washing wastewater laundry do with variations in pressure of 1 bar , 2 bar , and 3 bar. Variation of chemical cleaning agent concentration of 1%, 1.5% and 2%, rinsing with distilled water for 30 minutes, filtering wastewater laundry for 120 minutes, and washing using chemical cleaning agent (NaOH) for 30 minutes. Results highest percentage of rejection for COD parameter 86.6% and 85.7% TSS parameters in transmembrane pressure of 3 bar. The highest washing efficiency of the value of Flux Recovery (FR) gained 81.9%, and the value of resistance of Removal (RR) gained 82.59% with a concentration of 2% in the transmembrane pressure of 3 bar. The highest leaching effectiveness obtained at 50.21% with a concentration of 2% and a transmembrane pressure of 3 bar.Keywords : Ultrafiltration membrane, Fouling, Transmembrane Pressure, Efficiency of Washing, Effectiveness of Washing

Abstract

The increase in ownership of motorized vehicles has resulted in increased transportation activities. The tendency to increase the number of motorized vehicles operating will increase the traffic load, one example of which is the increase in noise intensity. This study aims to measure noise intensity and map noise at peak hours due to transportation activities that occur at the Tabek Gadang intersection, Pekanbaru City by taking data in the form of noise data and several other traffic variables such as vehicle volume. This research was conducted using a Sound Level Meter (SLM) for 2 days, namely on Monday which represents peak hours and Sunday which represents vehicle quiet hours. The results showed that from 24 measurement points the highest noise level was 96,86 dB which was the point with high traffic volume and the lowest noise level was 76,58 dB which had low traffic volume. Noise mapping using the Surfer 11 software program. From this study it can also be concluded that the greater the volume of the vehicle, the lower the vehicle speed, resulting in a high noise level, and vice versa so that the volume of the vehicle is directly proportional to the noise level, while the speed of the vehicle is inversely proportional to the level of noise. Abstract

BPS data shows that motorbikes are the most widely used vehicle and the number continues to increase every year. This has a negative impact, namely increasing motorcycle exhaust emissions and endangering the environment and human health. The study states that the cylinder capacity and age of the motorcycle have a significant effect on the resulting exhaust emissions. Currently, the most motorbikes on the market are motorcycles with cylinder capacities of 110 cc, 125 cc and 150 cc with a service life of under 5 years. The purpose of this study was to measure CO2 exhaust emissions and to analyze the effect of cylinder capacity and service life on exhaust gases produced using SPSS v. 24.0. This research was conducted by direct measurement using a gas analyzer on a motorcycle in idle condition and the results were analyzed using SPSS v. 24.0. The results showed that the value of CO2 produced in motorcycle samples at various ages and cylinder capacities was below 12%. Keywords: Exhaust Gas Emission, Motorcycle, Idle Condition.

Abstract

Increasing population growth leads to increased plastic waste resulting in adverse environmental impacts, If not further processed. This research was conducted to convert plastic waste into fuel oil using synthetic zeolite catalyst. The purpose of this research is to see the influence of temperature variation and percent catalyst / plastic. A total of 100 grams of polypropylene plastic type were crushed in a batch reactor at a temperature of 300 ° C, 350 ° C, and 400 ° C for 60 minutes with percent catalyst / plastic variations 5; 6; 7 (% weight). The highest yield was obtained at 400 ° C with 7% catalyst / plastic percent of 75.69%. While the highest yield without catalyst was obtained at 400 ° C at 65.57%. The product result obtained is density 0,87 gr / ml, kinematic viscosity value 2,140 cSt, flash point value 52 ° C, calorific value 44.673 kJ / kg. Abstract

Increasing population affect the mobility of transportation which has an impact on amount of vehicle but its not accompanied by the road capacity. This research is located on Jenderal Sudirman street, that has highest number of vehicle in Pekanbaru. This research intended count the vehicle amount in research location using manual method (traffic counting) to calculate the vehicle amount. The data collected directly at two (2) different points in Jendral Sudirman Street Pekanbaru, Point a is located in front of Sudirman Square dan point b is located in front of Ramayana Sudirman. The result showed the peak hour in point a and point b happen in afternoon (16:30-17:30) and the highest amount of vehicle occurs at point a, cause by difference conditions at the research location.Keywords: Carbon Monoxide Emissions, Vehicle amount, Speed of Vehicle

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the data on the potential for recycling of the domestic waste in the Development Region III of Pekanbaru City. Data obtained from research can be used for planning and developing waste management systems. Sampling is carried out based on SNI 193964-1994. The results showed that the potential for recycling waste by composting and recycling is 67.3% and the residue is 32.7% which can be managed in other ways. The waste is sorted and managed in other ways has its own economic value when sold. Of the 67 respondents from this study, the economic value achieved in a day is Rp. 155,835 or in a month Rp. 4,675,050. The waste is managed properly can be useful and have economic value and can reduce the accumulation of waste that causes environmental pollution. Keywords: potential for recycling waste.

Abstract

The average value of the free aquifers in Pekanbaru City continues to increase that marked increase in subsidence of groundwater impacted difficulty gaining ground water. Sourced from the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning Pekanbaru city that watering park in Pekanbaru city used reservoir water from well located in Pekanbaru City Forest, Diponegoro Street, Sail District, Pekanbaru. The water is standard water for the provision of clean water. Therefore, it is necessary to find an alternative water source that can be used for watering City Park. One of them is rainwater. All this time, rainwater only allowed wasted and underused. Though rain water can be used for watering plants. Rain water can be use by rainwater harvesting technology. In this study conducted a study on the utilization of rainwater harvesting at the Fly Over Bridge at intersection of Jenderal Sudirman Street and Tuanku Tambusai Street Pekanbaru City as an alternative water source for City Park. To find the rainwater harvesting donation. Analysis Supported by the software of RainCycle Standard v2.0 program. The large contribution of rainwater harvesting produced is 19% of 120 m3 or 22.8 m3 everyday if not raining and at least 7.7% of 120 m3 or 9.24 m3 everyday if not raining. Keywords: Raincycle Water Harvesting, Fly Over, Alternative Water Resource

Abstract

Hospital X in pekanbaru is the hospital of the mother and child special private in pekanbaru. In the process of wastewater treatment, the laundry facilities and cafeteria of the hospital do not enter the treatment process at the wwtp so that still needs further processing in order not to pollute the surrounding environment. It is based on and Permen LH No. 5 2014 the attachment 44 about the Quality of the Raw Waste Water For Business and/or Activities of Health care Facilities. Given the problem, the development of waste treatment facilities that are appropriate and cheap in terms of technology, price and ease of operation is very important. In this paper described the design of the waste water treatment plant (WWTP) with biological treatment to appropriate hospital namely with the process of wastewater treatment biofilter anaerobic aerobic with a capacity of 6,615 m3/day. The results showed that based on the calculation and design that has been made, the WWTP that will be used as a waste water treatment system of Hospital X can be overcome or cope with the problem of environmental pollution. It is seen from the level of the decreased efficiency of processing is quite high, namely BOD 5.35 mg/L (99,4%), COD 33,9 mg/L (98,4%), TSS 1.6 mg/L (99.8% Of), Total Coliform 103,125 MPN/100 mL (99%), MBAS 5,625 mg/L (of 97.7%), and the content of Oil and Fat of 13.5 mg/L (to 97.5%).
