Abstract

Maternal education and knowledge have an important role in influencing the incidence of stunting which is at risk from the mother's pregnancy to the first thousand days of life. The problem is the high stunting rate in Paya Baro village, which reaches 10.18%. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence between education and knowledge variables on stunting events in Paya Baro Village, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency. This research method uses an analytical quantitative method which is used to analyze the influence of education and knowledge of toddler mothers on stunting events with a sample of 50 pregnant women in Paya baro village, Meureubo District, West Aceh Regency and the results obtained were presented in table form. The results can be seen characteristics based on the education of pregnant women as much as (39.1%) not going to school (17.4%) elementary education (13%) junior high school education (13%) high school education (17.4%) undergraduates. Meanwhile, the knowledge of mothers with a good level of knowledge (34.5%) and a poor level of knowledge as much as (43.75). The education variables of pregnant women have a meaningful relationship with the incidence of stunting p = value <0.001 and there is a meaningful influence between the knowledge of pregnant women on the incidence of stunting p = value <0.003. Conclusion there is an influence of maternal education and knowledge on the incidence of stunting in toddlers in Paya Baro Village, Meureubo District, Aceh Regency having an increased risk of stunting problems due to low levels of education and poor knowledge can increase stunting in children. It is hoped that policymakers can improve stunting prevention programs through community empowerment.

Abstract

The lack of healthy sustenance is far-reaching in emerging nations, including Indonesia. Lack of healthy sustenance can restrict a singular's capacity to reach their greatest potential. Factors that impact undernutrition should be recognized to decrease undernutrition rates in little children. This article aims to analyze factors related to undernutrition in children under five years of age. This study uses the literature review method. The database used to search for articles that match the theme is taken from several search engines: Google Scholar and Garuda. Selecting articles is based on suitability with the keywords, topics, and predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of this study are ten factors related to malnutrition in toddlers, namely the Mother's knowledge, parenting style, history of exclusive breastfeeding, history of illness, number of family members, child feeding patterns, family economic income status, low birth weight (LBW), Mother's education level, and energy-protein adequacy. The ten factors related to malnutrition in toddlers were obtained from valid scientific evidence using procedures. Thus, this literature review can be a scientific reference to be applied as an intervention for malnutrition in toddlers.

Abstract

Several studies in Indonesia have utilized learning media to educate students. Nevertheless, no research looks at the effect of education through learning media on high school students about balanced nutrition using Powtoon, which is website-based. The research design used was a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 West Aceh Regency. Seventy-three respondents who met the inclusion criteria were selected. The results obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Respondent's knowledge of balanced nutrition before being given education through Powtoon website-based learning media has a median value of 9 (5-12), and after the intervention, the median value rises to 13 (8 - 15). There is a significant difference in knowledge of balanced nutrition before and after the intervention. Therefore, learning with engaging media provides new experiences for students to understand the material presented. Powtoon learning media can be developed or compared with other learning media to find out which one is superior so that it can be widely used.

Abstract

The provision of clean water is still a major problem in Indonesia and one of the reasons is that the available raw water is still limited. Even though it is recognized that water sources are closely related to the nutritional status of children, including stunting. The research objective was to analyze the water quality in protected deep wells in Leubok Village, Aceh Barat District. The method used is descriptive with an observational approach and laboratory examination. Two water sources, namely water from a drilled well with a depth of 12 meters and water from a drilled well with a depth of 6 meters are the research samples. The results of the physical test showed that the water was colorless, odorless and tasteless in both water sources. In the water of the drilled well at a depth of 12 meters, it was found that the content of Fe was 0.16 Mg/L and the pH was 7.9 Mg/L, while the water in the well, which was 6 meters deep, was found to contain Fe 0.06 Mg/L and the pH of the water was 7.5 Mg/L. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the sources of clean water from both water sources in Leubok Village meet the standard of maximum concentration for clean water for hygiene and sanitation purposes, as well as the requirements for drinking water, especially the physical and chemical criteria (particularly pH and Fe). To be truly suitable for consumption, further studies are needed on microbiological parameters, inorganic chemical parameters, and other chemical parameters.
