Abstract

The National Literacy Movement is widely echoed in the school environment. On the other hand, literacy can also be developed at home for young children by parents. Reading together between parents and children is proven to be able to develop children's literacy. Herein, the Community Service activity which focuses on the initial read aloud training for parents is pivotal. The initial read aloud training aimed to train parents in a village in West Bandung Regency, West Java, to read storybooks to children. This activity was carried out in October 2018, involving 18 parents (mothers) with young children. Through this training, the involved parents showed an awareness, among mothers, of the importance of reading stories at home, selecting story books for children, and reading stories to and/or with children. Through this activity, it is hoped that parents can increase awareness of the importance of supporting literacy from an early age in children and practicing it at home. In addition, it is expected that there will be follow-up trainings such as reading assistance to parents

Abstract

The dynamics of language use in multilingual Indonesian society give rise to language interference and integration. This study aims to identify the forms of language interference and integration in the television show 'Enah Bikin Enak' aired on Trans 7. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through literature study and documentation of several show episodes. The data were analyzed to find forms of interference and language integration between Sundanese and Indonesian. The results showed several forms of interference in phonology, morphology, and syntax. In addition, regional vocabulary and expressions are integrated into the Indonesian language used in the show. These findings reflect the dynamics of language use in mass media, which cannot be separated from the influence of social and cultural developments.

Abstract

Kasus pelanggaran etika dan tata krama yang kerap muncul di media sosial menimbulkan kekhawatiran berbagai kalangan terhadap degradasi moral para generasi muda. Pengabdian pada masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memberikan pembinaan kepada generasi muda untuk senantiasa menggunakan etika dan tata krama bahasa Sunda yang baik dan benar dalam bermedia sosial. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini didasarkan pada hasil penelitian Model 3W (Wiwaha, Wiraga, Wibawa) sebagai alternatif solusi mengatasi permasalahan tersebut. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan empat langkah kegiatan yakni perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek dalam pengabdian ini adalah pengurus dan anggota komunitas Mojang Jajaka (Moka) Kota Tasikmalaya. Para peserta dibimbing untuk memahami dan menguasai konsep etika dan tata krama bahasa Sunda yang baik dan benar (wiwaha), terampil menerapkannya dalam media sosial (wiraga), serta mampu menjadi figur atau teladan bagi masyarakat luas (wibawa). Kegiatan pembinaan ini diharapkan mampu membekali para peserta agar lebih bijak menggunakan media sosial yang didasarkan pada penerapan etika dan tata krama Sunda dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tingkat keterbacaan teks fiksi dan non-fiksi serta menelaah kesesuaiannya dengan jenjang kelas VII, VII, dan IX dalam buku Wanda Basa Sunda jenjang SMP. Pendekatan yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode analisis isi. Data dalam penelitian ini diambil dari 28 teks, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan grafik Fry dan grafik Raygor. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tingkat keterbacaan teks dalam buku tersebut berbeda-beda. Jika dilihat secara umum sekitar sekitar 54% teks berada pada tingkat keterbacaan yang sesuai, sedangkan sebagian lainnya menunjukan tingkat keterbacaan yang lebih rendah dan lebih tinggi dari jenjang sasaran. Dari perbedaan hasil antara grafik Fry dan grafik Raygor, hal itu menunjukan adanya perbedaan dalam menilai karakteristik kebahasaan teks. Grafik Fry cenderung lebih fokus pada panjang dan struktur kalimat, sedangkan grafik Raygor lebih berfokus pada tingkat kesulitan kata yang digunakan dalam teks. Temuan ini menunjukan bahwa aspek keterbacaan belum sepenuhnya menjadi perhatian dalam proses penyusunan maupun pemilihan bahan ajar bahasa Sunda, sehingga dapat mendorong tercapainya tujuan pembelajaran.

Abstract

The declining use of regional languages in Indonesia necessitates the search for innovative preservation strategies in the digital era. Unlike previous studies that have focused primarily on political communication and media framing, this study highlights the sociopragmatic dimensions of regional language preservation through digital communication. This study analyzes sociopragmatic communication strategies within Kang Dedi Mulyadi's YouTube content, focusing on the use of Sundanese and speech elements that enhance the vitality of regional languages. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data from three of Kang Dedi Mulyadi's YouTube videos were transcribed and coded into relational, educational, and cultural/identity categories, and subsequently analyzed through thematic interpretation. This study substantiates the notion that the sociopragmatic practices of public figures on digital platforms can serve as a potential model for revitalizing regional languages. The findings extend sociopragmatic perspectives by demonstrating how digital discourse contributes to regional language revitalization through the integration of cultural identity, communicative practices, and audience engagement.
