Using a computer or staring at a laptop screen for more than 2 hours and not resting your eyes for 15 minutes can cause CVS symptoms. The existence of online learning in Indonesia, and the imposition of social restrictions during the Covid-19 pandemic since March 2020, have caused all educational facilities to stop turning face-to-face learning systems into online learning systems. Online learning, which is usually carried out for 4-6 hours a day (excluding work outside school hours), can undoubtedly harm students' eye health. This activity aims to increase students' understanding of how to prevent CVS so that it can help students take an active role in preventing CVS. This activity's method is to provide counseling through the Zoom room about CVS prevention using PowerPoint media equipped with pictures and video roleplay to overcome CVS independently and give leaflets on CVS prevention. The result of this activity was that the knowledge of MTsN 1 Lumajang students about CVS prevention increased. Keywords: computer vision syndrome, online learning

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a period of transition from childhood to adulthood. This stage of development is a transitional period of self-discovery marked by physical, emotional, and psychological changes. However, young people are often faced with poverty, sexual abuse, or violence, making teens vulnerable to mental health problems. Adolescents who live in rural areas are likely to be more susceptible to mental health problems because rural areas have a high degree of social intimacy, and the economic focus is on the agricultural sector. So, the psychological pressure on adolescents in rural areas will be heavier, and if the coping mechanism is not suitable, these adolescents will be more susceptible to depression. Objective: This study aims at reviewing and synthesizing the determinants factor of depression among adolescent in rural area. Design: This study design was a systematic review using the PICO framework. Data Sources: This data was carried out since June 2021 from various journal databases in the last five years (2017-2021), including ScienceDirect, PubMed, and Taylor & Francis. The keywords combined with Boolean operators (“AND” and “OR”) to find literatures, namely "Factor" OR “Risk Factor” AND “Depression” OR “Depressive” OR “Depress” AND “Adolescent” OR “Teens” AND “Rural”. 13 articles meet the inclusion criteria and meet the qualifications for review. Review Methods: A systematic procedure is used to collect articles, as well as a critical appraisal and data synthesis with qualitative synthesis. Results: Based on a review of several articles, factors that can influence the occurrence of depression in rural adolescents include discrimination, adverse childhood experiences, victimization, socioeconomic migration of parents, family, cellphone addiction, postpartum pregnancy, and gender in adolescents. Conclusion: Overall, these factors can cause psychological pressure and due to poor coping mechanisms resulting in depression in adolescents in rural areas.

Abstract

Hypertension, better known as high blood pressure, is an abnormal increase in blood pressure, both systolic and diastolic. Statistically, watermelon has an effect on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients; the blood pressure before administration of watermelon is significantly higher than after administration of watermelon. The CMA Keris Community Service Team implemented community service by providing education in the form of question-and-answer lectures and discussions, as well as examples of watermelon juice products made directly by the team, to 60 elderly people at the Sukoreno Village Hall in Jember Regency. Before carrying out the service, it begins with a letter of application from partners, namely the head of Sukoreno Village, addressed to the D3 Nursing Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Jember University Nursing, Lumajang Campus. There are three factors that support the success of health education for the public, namely preparation, including cross-sector collaboration, content or theme of counseling, and counseling media. Keywords: hypertension, water melon, health education
