Abstract

The aim of this study was to look at oil-based topical treatments that are effective in reducing and reducing the scale of uremic pruritus in patients with chronic kidney failure. The research method used in writing this systematic review was a literature search conducted through the Pubmed, Proquest, Science direct, Scopus databases with articles selected from 2010-2022. The results of this study showed a significant reduction in the scale of uremic pruritus in chronic kidney failure patients within 1-4 weeks of oil-based topical treatment. In conclusion, oil-based topical treatments are effective in reducing complaints of itching and pruritus in chronic kidney failure patients so that they can be used in nursing treatment. Abstract

End of Life (EoL) communication is carried out when the patient's condition is palliative and documented in an advance Directives (ADs) document which contains of patient's preferences of treatment options. ADs are highly important documents for patients, families and health worker, but have not been applied in Indonesia. This study aimed to identify the stages of preparing ADs with qualitative evidence synthesis research design. The Data sources used several data bases, namely Sage Journals, ProQuest, Scopus, Taylor & Francis, ScienceDirect, and ClinicalKey Nursing from 2003 to 2023. The article selection was based on the category of qualitative research on EoL communication and ADs drafting. The results of the study obtained 6 out of 38,185 articles. The articles contained of the stages of preparing ADs starting with the initiation of patients or health workers, providing an explanation of ADs and the course of patient's disease, discussion or EoL communication between families and health workers, reviewing the decisions in ADs according to patient's condition, and making ADs according to local regulations. The researchers concluded that ADs document as the result of EoL communication should be made by health workers and patients. ADs document is important for patients, families and health workers and can help patients become calmer to face a follow-up care and end-of-life care.

Abstract

This research aims to optimize nurse handover with electronic-based SBAR communication. The research method used is a pilot project. The research results show that implementing nurse handovers with electronic-based SBAR communication in the Emergency Room makes the nurse's work system more optimal, which is demonstrated when patient-related information is clearer, structured and more complete, communication becomes more effective, and can increase patient safety, 27 respondents stated 81.5 % already understand what SBAR communication is and 40.7% have attended SBAR communication training, and as many as 77% have the ability to fill in electronic-based handover formats and are able to carry out handovers using electronic-based SBAR Communication. In conclusion, implementing nurse handovers with electronic-based SBAR communication in the Emergency Room makes the nurse's work system more optimal, which is demonstrated by making patient-related information clearer, structured and more complete, communication becomes more effective, and can increase patient safety. Abstract

Background: Climate change has the potential to significantly impact public health. Primary health facilities must be prepared to provide effective health services to address the health impacts of climate change. Purpose: To determine the preparedness of community health centers in facing climate change that has an impact on health. Method: The approach used is Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analyses (PRISMA). The search format using Patient, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome (PICO) was formulated to facilitate the process of searching literature from databases. The databases used are ScienceDirect, Sage Journal and Scopus from 2020-2024. Researchers use the Mendeley application to detect duplication. Results: The final search results obtained 10 articles, from these articles were obtained preparedness efforts that can be carried out by health centers through routine training, building knowledge, attitudes, and practices of health workers, and building positive perceptions about preparedness. Health centers can respond to the impacts of climate change more effectively with the support of a structured framework. Conclusion: Increasingly extreme climate change has a significant impact on public health, thus requiring better preparedness from health facilities such as community health centers.   Keywords: Climate Change; Health Centers; Preparedness.   Pendahuluan: Perubahan iklim berpotensi m.emberi dampak besar bagi kesehatan masyarakat. Fasilitas kesehatan primer dituntut memiliki kesiapsiagaan untuk memberi pelayanan kesehatan yang efektif dalam merespon dampak kesehatan akibat perubahan iklim. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui kesiapsiagaan puskesmas dalam menghadapi perubahan iklim yang berdampak pada kesehatan. Metode: Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-analyses (PRISMA). Format pencarian dengan menggunakan Patient, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome (PICO) dirumuskan untuk memudahkan dalam proses pencarian literatur dari database. Database yang digunakan adalah ScienceDirect, Sage Journal dan Scopus dari tahun 2020-2024.  Peneliti menggunakan aplikasi Mendeley untuk mendeteksi Duplikasi. Hasil: Hasil akhir pencarian didapatkan 10 artikel, dari artikel tersebut didapatkan upaya kesiapsiagaan yang dapat dilakukan oleh puskesmas melalui pelatihan rutin, membangun pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik tenaga kesehatan, serta membangun persepsi positif tentang kesiapsiagaan. Puskesmas dapat merespons dampak perubahan iklim secara lebih efektif dengan dukungan kerangka kerja yang terstruktur. Simpulan: Perubahan iklim yang semakin ekstrem menimbulkan dampak signifikan terhadap kesehatan masyarakat, sehingga menuntut kesiapsiagaan yang lebih baik dari fasilitas kesehatan seperti puskesmas.   Kata Kunci: Kesiapsiagaan; Perubahan Iklim; Puskesmas.

Abstract

Background: Chronic kidney disease is one of the leading causes of mortality in the 21st century. Hemodialysis is a life-saving treatment for patients with end-stage renal disease; however, the procedure can cause pain, discomfort, anxiety, and depression, ultimately leading to a lower quality of life. Purpose: To examine the effects of virtual reality on anxiety, depression, and pain in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Method: Systematic review with randomized controlled trial (RCT) design. Articles were searched using 5 databases, namely Pubmed, Sage Journal, Springerlink, Proquest, and ScienceDirect published from January 2014 to December 2024. Results: Shows that there are 6 articles that meet the criteria and most of the studies reported that virtual reality interventions are effective in reducing levels of anxiety, depression, and pain in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Conclusion: Virtual reality interventions can be considered as adjunctive or alternative therapy to reduce anxiety, depression, and pain in patients undergoing hemodialysis.   Keywords: Anxiety; Depression; Hemodialysis; Pain; Virtual Reality.   Pendahuluan: Penyakit ginjal kronis merupakan salah satu penyebab kematian paling banyak di abad ke-21 ini. Hemodialisis adalah pengobatan yang dapat menyelamatkan jiwa bagi penderita penyakit ginjal stadium akhir, meskipun begitu, proses ini dapat menyebabkan rasa nyeri dan ketidaknyamanan,cemas dan depresi, sehingga mengakibatkan kualitas hidup menjadi lebih rendah. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui efek virtual reality (VR) terhadap kecemasan, depresi dan nyeri pada pasien yang menjalankan hemodialisa. Metode: Systematic review dengan desain randomized controlled trial (RCT). Pencarian artikel menggunakan 5 database yaitu Pubmed, Sage Journal, Springerlink, Proquest, dan ScienceDirect yang terbit dari Januari 2014 hingga Desember 2024. Hasil: Menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 6 artikel yang memenuhi kriteria dan sebagian besar studi melaporkan bahwa, intervensi virtual reality efektif dalam menurunkan tingkat cemas, depresi, dan nyeri pada pasien yang menjalankan hemodialisa. Simpulan: Intervensi VR dapat dijadikan terapi pendamping atau pengganti untuk menurunkan tingkat kecemasan, depresi, dan nyeri pada pasien yang menjalankan hemodialisis.   Kata Kunci: Depresi; Hemodialisis; Kecemasan; Nyeri; Virtual Reality.

Abstract

Background: Chronic kidney disease is one of the global public health challenges that continues to increase with a significant impact on morbidity, mortality and high health care costs. Hemodialysis, one of the renal replacement therapy methods, often causes anxiety and decreased quality of life. Mind body therapies such as guided imagery, yoga and meditation have the potential to reduce anxiety and improve the quality of life of patients undergoing hemodialysis. Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness application of mind body therapies on anxiety and quality of life in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Method: This systematic review uses an approach that follows the PRISMA guidelines. Searches were conducted in six electronic databases, namely Scopus, Springerlink, Proquest, EBSCO, Science Direct and Pubmed with appropriate keywords. The included articles were published within the last 10 years, in English and the type of research was RCT or quasi-experimental. After the selection process, 10 articles met the criteria for further analysis. Results: Eight articles were RCT designs and two articles were quasi-experimental designs. The application of mind body therapies including guided imagery, yoga and meditation is a complementary therapy that can reduce anxiety and improve quality of life. In addition, it also affects the improvement of sleep quality, reduces depression, reduces stress levels and emotional regulation in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Conclusion: Mind body therapies have been proven effective in reducing anxiety and improving the quality of life of hemodialysis patients. This therapy can be used both during hemodialysis sessions and when done alone at home. With its various benefits, this therapy has the potential to be integrated into holistic and evidence-based patient care.

Abstract

Background: Patient Safety is a global issue that has received worldwide attention which is caused by patient safety incidents such as medical errors, medication errors, surgical procedure errors, risk of falls, ineffective communication resulting in death. To realize the quality of health services and improve patient safety, interprofessional collaboration is able to provide better care and reduce the number of patient safety incidents. Aim: To find an effective Interprofessional Collaboration Model in Efforts to Improve Patient Safety. Method: We conducted a systematic review from 2010 to 2020. Data was collected from five databases (google scholar, PMC, PubMed, Scopus, and Science Direct) with a total search result of 50,371 articles. The inclusion criteria were a focus on interprofessional collaboration in the hospital consisting of doctors, nurses, analysts, nutritionists, pharmacists, and other PPAs using the keyword “Interprofessional collaboration and patient safety”. Results: TeamSTEPPS and CRM is able to influence patient safety improvement. Conclusions: Twelve types of intervention modifications were reported according to the inclusion criteria, but in general interprofessional collaboration with Team Strategies and Tools to Enhance Performance and Patient Safety (TeamSTEPPS) and Crew Resource Management (CRM) has an effect on improving patient safety effectively, able to improve the quality of care, reduce the rate of complications and errors, reduce length of care and reduce mortalityKeyword:  Interprofessional collaboration, Patient safety, Interprofessional collaboration model

Abstract

Keselamatan pasien dan kualitas perawatan adalah prioritas di semua layanan kesehatan termasuk rumah sakit. Rumah Sakit memfasilitasi pemberian edukasi yang merupakan faktor penunjang partisipasi pasien dan keluarga dalam proses optimalisasi asuhan.Studi kasus ini bertujuan untuk mengoptimalkan pelaksanaan supervisi pemberian edukasi pasien dan keluarga di RS Jakarta Selatan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, penyebaran kuesioner dan wawancara. Analisis menggunakan diagram fishbone.Implementasi yang dilakukan dengan membuat instrumen supervisi pemberian edukasi dan observasi pendokumentasian pemberian edukasi pasien dan keluarga. Edukasi merupakan salah satu intervensi yang dilakukan oleh perawat. Pelaksanaan pemberian edukasi pasien dan keluarga dapat meningkatkan kualitas asuhan keperawatan. Perbaikan form pemberian edukasi pasien dan keluarga, pengesahan instrumen supervisi dan observasi pemberian edukasi pasien dan keluarga merupakan elemen penting dalam mencapai kualitas pelayanan keperawatan.

Abstract

Evaluation is an essential component of the continuing education process. Non-formal continuing nursingeducation program, consisting of seminars, training, workshops, conferences, symposiums, etc. End-of-lifepatient care is knowledge of the problems associated with illness and death, nursing competence is needed tomanage dynamic and complex situations around end-of-life care so that nurses who care for patients for daysfeel unready to provide care at the end of life. The aim is to evaluate the implementation of post-ContinuingNursing Education in the care of end-of-life patients by using fishbone. Case study design using frequencydistribution of test results, questionnaires and audit documentation with 75 samples then analyzed usingfishbone. The test results showed a value of> 85 (54.7%), understanding of the initial assessment showed avalue of> 85 (37.3%), the results of the documentation audit showed there was no documentation of 94% andthere was documentation of 6%. The nursing committee as a promoter of the implementation of activitiescoordinates with the field of nursing and nursing managers in carrying out evaluations of each continuingeducation program.

Abstract

Nurse behavior has a strong influence on the need and trust of patient education which identifiesdeterminants of nurse behavior in presenting patient education with a cross sectional design. The studyused total sampling with 210 samples according to the inclusion criteria. The instrument used was amodification of various literature reviews which tested its validity and reliability. The majority of nurseshave the following characteristics: female, <35 years old, not attending D3 Nursing, having totalexperience <10 years, civil servant status, having attended training (in the last three years), but lackingknowledge related to providing patient education . There is a relationship between age, policies, policies,working conditions, supervision, social support, and the planning function of the head of the room with thebehavior of nurses in providing patient education (p = 0.001-0.037), the most dominant variable affectingthe behavior of nurses in providing patient education is support. social (OR = 5,186). Nursing managersand the ranks of the hospital need to create a support program to offer patient education, complete allexisting facilities and infrastructure, as well as prepare competent resources.
