Abstract

Sowang (Xanthostemon novaeguineense Valet.) is an endemic plant of Papua whose population is currently experiencing very high pressure due to overexploitation, and the morphological characteristics of Sowang are very difficult to develop generatively, it is necessary to make efforts to reproduce vegetatively. Vegetative propagation is an alternative that needs to be done, one of which is by cuttings. Research on the effect of giving growtone on Sowang's growth has been carried out from March to July 2020, at the Green House Laboratory of the Department of Biology, FMIPA, Cenderawasih University, Jayapura, Papua. This study aims to determine the effect of giving growtone with different doses, types of cuttings, and the interaction of these two factors on the growth of Sowang cuttings. This study used an experimental method with a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors and three replications. Factor 1, growtone (D0: control, D1: 50 ppm, D2: 100 ppm, and D3: 150 ppm), and factor 2, the type of cuttings Sowang (S1: shoot cuttings and S2: stem cuttings). The results showed that different doses of growtone and the type of cuttings had a significant effect on the growth of Sowang cuttings. The dose of growtone 150 ppm and the type of stem cuttings gave the best results in increasing the growth of Sowang shoot cuttings.

Abstract

Penelitian tumbuhan daun Jilat (Villebrune rubescens Bl.) telah dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk menganalisa kandungan pigmen klorofil daun Jilat (V. rubescens) pada tingkat perkembangan berbeda. Komposisi pigmen utama dianalisa menggunakan metode KLT berdasarkan warna totol dan nilai retardasi faktor. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tumbuhan daun Jilat (V. rubescens Bl.), mempunyai komposisi pigmen utama yang sama yaitu karoten, feofitin a, klorofil a, klorofil b dan ksantofil. Terdapat perbedaan warna pada daun muda dan dewasa, namun dari hasil pengukuran kandungan klorofil menunjukan absorbansi yang sama, yaitu pada panjang gelombang 663 nm (absorbansinya 0,280) dan panjang gelombang 645 nm (absorbansi 0,113 nm) sehingga kandungan klorofil pada tahapan perkembangan berbeda daun  V. rubescens Bl. adalah sama, yaitu kandungan klorofil a sebesar 3,25 µg/g berat basah dan klorofil b sebesar 1,25 μg/g berat basa. Rata-rata kandungan klorofil total adalah 4,52 μg/g berat basa.

Abstract

The research on abundance and diversity of phytoplankton has been conducted in the coastal waters of PLTU Holtekamp, Muara Tami district, Jayapura City, Papua Province. The background of this research is environmental was changed and it caused by human activities, PLTU activities, both of derived from organic and inorganic contamination. The purpose of research was to determine the abundance and diversity of phytoplankton in these waters. This research was observation research, namely by taking samples from 3 stations. Sampling was use planktonnet, observe was use microscope, identified, counted, and analyzed plankton diversity index. Identification was carried out at the Zoology Laboratory of the Biology Education Study Program, Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Teacher and Education Faculty, Cenderawasih University. Plankton abundance was calculated using Lackey Drop Micro Transect Counting Method and Plankton diversity was calculated using formulas Shannon-Weaner. The result shows that there were 17 genera of phytoplankton which were dominated by diatoms and dinoflagellates. The highest abundance found in the station 3 is 2655 ind/l. Diversity index (H') ranged from 1.73 to 1.90 which indicates that there is unstable ecological conditions and dominance index (C) ranging from 0.24 to 0.28 which indicating there no dominant species.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to find out (1) To know the influence of active learning strategy video critic to students’ attention on the subject material global warming in grade VII of SMP Muhammadiyah Jayapura. (2). To know the influence of active learning strategy video critic to students’ learning result on the subject material global warming in grade VII of SMP Muhammadiyah Jayapura. The kind of the research is quantitative.The  research design used is Quasi Experimental Design in the form of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population is all students grade VII of SMP Muhammadiyah Jayapura. The taking of sample is conducted with the technique of purposive sampling. And class VII D as the class control and VII D as class experiment. The instruments used are survey, observation, and objective test questions. The data is analyzed with the simple regression test. The result of the researchshows that : (1) There is significant influence to students’s attention in following learning process by using active learning strategy of video critic with the score of is bigger than  (2,90>2,045). (2) There is significant influence between the students’ learning result in the class experiment by using the active learning strategy video critic with the score of is bigger than  ( 2,292>2,045).

Abstract

potential if managed well. The Depapre coastal area is famous for its marine tourism. The sea water is still clean and clear, beautiful coral reef cover and the charm of seagrass beds with various types of fish that live around them are what attract tourists to visit this area. However, aquatic ecosystems, especially macroalgae, are under threat of degradation. The aim of this research is to identify types of macroalgae as initial data for monitoring and consideration in efforts to process biological resources, especially the composition and distribution of macroalgae.The method used is the roaming method (road sampling), the population of this study is various types of macroalgae found in Dormena coastal waters, while the research sample is all types of macroalgae found in the roaming area. The data obtained was processed qualitatively using a macroalgae identification key book. The results of research in the waters of Doromena village, identified 9 species of macroalgae, namely Chaetomorpha spiralis Okamura (Chorophyta), Halimeda macroloba Decaisne (Chorophyta), Phadina australis Hauck (Phaeophyta), Sargassum binderi (Phaeophyta), Sargassum cristaefolium C. Agardh 1820 (Phaeophyta), Turbinaria conoides (J. Agardh) Kützing 1860 (Phaeophyta), Chondrus crispus Stackh (Rhodophyta), Corallina officinalis Linnaeus 1758 (Rhodophyta), and Gelidium sp. J. V. Lamouroux 1813 (Rhodophyta).

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the knowledge and conservation efforts of the people of Doyo Lama villageand Harapanvillage. The research was carried out for three months, namely, from July to September 2020, using the observation method; interview method; documentation method; and literature study methods, and analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results showed that knowledge about sowang wood (Xanthostemon sp.), is a traditional knowledge passed down from generation to generation orally. The people of Doyo Lama village call sowang by the name toang (meaning hard and strong), and Harapan village named howan(meaning wood that is durable and not easily weathered). The people of Doyo Lamavillage know two species of sowang wood, namely broad-leaved species and small-leaved species. The people ofHarapan villagealso recognize two species, namely the red-flowered species and the yellow-flowered species. The broad-leaved species and the red-flowered species are Xanthostemonnovoguineensis species. While the species with small leaves and yellow flowers are Xanthostemonpapuanus. Traditional knowledge and use of sowang wood by the people of Doyo Lama villageand Harapanvillage is decreasing, influenced by the development of modern life, because until now there have been no efforts and conservation activities for sowang wood in the two villages and there has been a shift in cultural values from traditional be modern. While the species with small leaves and yellow flowers are Xanthostemonpapuanus. Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the family environment on interest in continuing studies to higher education in class determine the influence of the family environment and student learning achievement on interest in continuing their studies to higher education in class XII Science students at SMA PGRI Jayapura. This research was conducted at SMA PGRI Jayapura in the even semester of the 2017/2018 academic year. The population in this study was 58 students in class XII Science at SMA PGRI Jayapura. Data collection techniques use questionnaires and documentation. The data analysis method used is multiple regression.The results of this research show a partial test: (1) there is an influence of the family environment on the interest in continuing their studies to higher education in class XII Science students at SMA PGRI Jayapura. (2) there is no influence of learning achievement on interest in continuing studies to higher education in class XII Science students at SMA PGRI Jayapura. Simultaneously: (3) There is an influence of the family environment and learning achievement on the interest in continuing their studies to higher education in class XII Science students at SMA PGRI Jayapura. Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupa pelatihan guru-guru MGMP IPA dalam implementasi model Probalusan dalam pembelajaran IPA di SMP. Pelatihan ini diharapkan guru-guru sebagai fasilitator yang kreatif dan inovatif memiliki keterampilan dalam menyelenggarakan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran inovatif. Sasaran kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah guru-guru MGMP IPA di kota Jayapura yang berjumlah 41 orang. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian, meliputi penyampaian materi model pembelajaran Probalusan IPA, simulasi sintaks model pembelajaran Probalusan IPA dan dilanjutkan dengan diskusi seputar model pembelajaran Probalusan IPA untuk memberi kesempatan bagi guru untuk mengatasi kendala dalam menerapkan model Probalusan IPA. Manfaat yang diperoleh guru dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memperoleh pengetahuan tentang model pembelajaran inovatif yaitu model Probalusan IPA dan dapat menerapkannya dalam pembelajaran IPA di SMP. Hasil angket respon guru setelah mengikuti pelatihan untuk kategori sangat setuju diatas 85% dari 41 guru dan setuju 15% artinya guru sangat senang mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan implementasi model pembelajaran Probalusan IPA. Menurut Guru pelatihan ini membantu mereka memahami model pembelajaran inovatif diantaranya model Probalusan IPA. Guru lebih mengerti konsep dasar model pembelajaran Probalusan IPA, disertai contoh-contoh praktis yang berguna untuk diterapkan di kelas. Pelatihan ini mendorong guru-guru sebagai fasilitator lebih kreatif dan inovatif, serta memiliki keterampilan dalam menyelenggarakan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran inovatif. Implementasi model Probalusan IPA menciptakan pembelajaran yang lebih aktif, inovatif dan menyenangkan sehingga tujuan pembelajaran tercapai dengan mudah.
