Abstract

Primary water source of people in  fisherman area in Kabupaten Pasir, Kalimantan Timur for daily water need generally is from  surface water  or deep well. Surface water is affected by water tide of sea water, so that almost all the time  in a year the water quality is salty or brakish. Beside high salt concentration, deep well quality  is also worst.  This is caused by poor environmental sanitation of fisherman community.  Rainy water use as water source alternative in problem solving for limited water drinking only provide in rainy season. Other alternative, people must find from other area where is far from their house or buy water with expensive price. To solve this critical problem is required the application of suitable  water treatment technology. This water treatment  technology must produce drinking water that meet technical standard and the technology is applicable, easy and cheap in operation and maintenance because it is hoped that community in that area can manage, operate  and maintenance. Kata Kunci : Penduduk nelayan, penyediaan air bersih, teknologi pengolahan air bersih.

Abstract

According to the result of the World Bank study, from 121 drinking water management projects in rural area, only 20 (16,6%) are very effective projects. A lot of drinking water management in developing country, including Indonesia is not running well. One of the reasons of this problem is that community did not take part in developing and managing drinking water treatment plant. A right policy and strategy could overcome the problem and give an effective and sustainable of drinking water management. This paper generally explain principles and general policy in developing the drinking water treatment plant and how to apply the strategies, therefore that it is running well and the are will being of the community sustainable. There is also an example, a case study about small-scale drinking water treatment plant in a fisherman village, Sungai Liat, Province Bangka-Belitung where the community took part in every stage of building it. Keywords: Community based of drinking water management, policy of developing the drinking water treatment plant, application of strategies

Abstract

Nowadays raw water resources for drinking water are less and less available, especially in Jakarta. For example, the condition of most rivers in Jakarta is extremely polluted by wastewaters, such as domestic and industrial wastewater. Some of industrial wastewater straightly discharged into the rivers are classified as  toxic and hazardous wastewater.  Therefore all rivers in Jakarta are not feasible to be used as the raw water for clean water treatment processes. Even ground water is not already safe to be used as the raw water for drinking water, because it has commonly been contaminated by seepage of septic tanks and polluted surface waters. Because of that, many people living in Jakarta tried to find other alternatives. Commercially sold mineral water is one good option for supplying drinking water need, but the prices are relatively expensive for most of people. There were more than 1,000 refill drinking water depots growing in the last ten years. They are one of the best answers to many people, but the quality of drinking water is still debatable. In other word, there is not a standard regulation for the water treatment processes, so the depots cannot guarantee that the produced water already fulfill the quality standard of drinking water. In order to give a good service for community living in Jakarta, it is very important to evaluate all aspects of technology, management and services.  Keywords : Refill drinking water technology, water treatment processes.

Abstract

Fast growing development at big cities such as Jakarta usually cause surface hydrology problems, which is indicated by many surface detention and local floods during rainy season. These problems were raised because of the increasing of runoff coefficient of sub catchment areas and limited capacity of existing drainages. Analysis have made on drainage capacity of sub catchment areas connected to peak flow cause by rain on certain recurrence period and result in data to evaluate drainage capacity to solve these water detention and local floods problems. Katakunci : Genangan, Banjir, Drainase, DAS, Database.

Abstract

Kabupaten of Anambas Island consists of small islands with a catchment area is minimal; therefore the availability of clean water for public water needs cannot be available at certain seasons. Water problems in Anambas especially in spring sources is a decrease in discharge of springs (water crisis) as well as damage to the Watershed (DAS). Only in District Tarempa who have a water treatment system, while the population of the other islands to get water from springs or surface water through pipes that are built individually and communally without any water treatment. The population and  activities of community in Anambas increased very rapidly while the infrastructure provided by the local government has not been adequate. In anticipation of these developments required a good city planning, particularly in the provision of clean water for people in Anambas Island. To determine how much water needs of the community in Anambas, should be calculated based on the population and projected water demand per person in accordance with standards established by Directorate General of Human Settlements Ministry of Public Works. The method used in calculating the projected water demand is the statistical method (arithmetic, least squares, geometric, or by using the trend of population growth in the form of regression method). Projected water demand results from the year 2013 to the year 2032 which has been calculated is Kecamatan Siantan, Central Siantan, Siantan East, South Siantan, Palmatak, Jemaja, East Jemaja and small islands with limited water availability. Based on the calculation of the projected water needs of the population, it has made planning the installation of water treatment plants following its installed capacity is achieved in stages in order to provide water services to all residents in Anambas Island. Keywords : Water resources, statistic method, installed capacity.

Abstract

Muncar area is a regional fish producer. There, we can find big and small scale fish processing industries and even home industries. Those industry produce on the average 1,300 ton/day processed fish. Production activities caused environmental pollution, especially air, water and soil pollution. Source of this pollution are from transportation movement and developmnet of raw material, quality control activities to employee’s activities (domestic waste). Right now the process of waste management is so little and people’s understanding about wastewater treatment (IPAL) and waste management system is so limited. Almost all waste from this area is flowed away to the public canal. Flowing away waste directly without any process could increase environmental pollution around industrial location. This paper explains how big the potential waste water pollution, kind and charactestic of pollution from fish processing industries and doing waste management evaluation in fish processing indutries in Muncar. Italso shows sort of pollution effect as a result of disposing fish processing industry waste in Muncar.   Kata Kunci : Industri Pengolahan Ikan, Dampak Pencemaran Limbah Industri.

Abstract

Cipinang River is one of the thirteen (13) rivers flowing in Jakarta. In the area along the river, there are a variety of activities such as industrial activities, residential, shopping malls and hospitals. These activities each day issued wastewater into the river, so that the physical condition of the river is getting worse. To find out how much pollution in Cipinang river, we analyze the measurement data from Jakarta BPLHD, especially parameters such as BOD, COD, phosphates, detergents, organic matter and bacteria coli. The analysis showed that the pollution in the river downstream Cipinang looks very high, this indicator shows that the pollution comes from industrial waste and domestic waste from households, offices and shops. Some efforts to reduce pollution is to build domestic wastewater treatment both individual and communal. Supervision and decisive action must be taken by the government of Jakarta for industries which dispose of waste water without treatment as well as granting permission to discharge liquid waste (IPLC) for industrial tightened. Keywords: Cipinang river, organic parameters, phosphat, detergent, coli bactery, industry pollution and domestic pollution

Abstract

Fish processing industries in Muncar-Banyuwangi have increased the welfare of the people there and made this area known as the major fish producer in Indonesia. More than 50% of its production has been exported to many countries and the rest has fulfilled domestic need. Although fish processing industry has developed quickly, its industrial pollution effect hasn’t been handled well so that it polluted the surrounding envionment especially water surface. It happened because of using water for industrial need reached 17.883,2 m3 /day and almost all industries haven’t provided a good wastewater installalion so that the environment couldn’t handle and neutrilize the wastes. This paper explains condition of fish processing industries and potential load of the wastewater produced by them. Keywords : Industri Pengolahan Ikan, Limbah Cair Industri, Pencemaran Lingkungan, Informasi.
