Abstract

On January - August 2013, the government implemented a quota-based import restriction policy for the shallot. While on September 2013, the government then changed it into a price-based import restriction. This research aims to determine how the impact of the quota-based and price-based import restrictions to the level of protection, profitability, and efficiency of farm. The method of analysis used in this research is PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix) method. The results showed that the quota-based import restriction policy has increased 141%, 270%, and 32% of protection, profitability, and efficiency of shallot farming, respectively. The price-based import restriction policyhas decreased 46% and 233% of protection and profitability of shallot farming, however it has increased 1% of the efficiency.ABSTRAKPada Januari - Agustus 2013, pemerintah menerapkan kebijakan pembatasan impor berbasis kuota terhadap komoditas bawang merah. Abstract

This study was aimed to find kind of improvements of sugar distribution system using value stream mapping (VSM) when some inefficiencies in physical and service activities were encountered that will cause wasting time. The VSM was directed to reduce non value added time as the performace parameter. VSM was used to analyze thus inefficiencies because using VSM can simply mapping to trace whole activities both of material and service flow from beginning to the end of process. A case study of Industri Gula Nusantara showed that in its service operations, there were an inefficiency in the process of issueing the loading order. Move thus activity a day earlier, the improvement sounds a shorter service time over order and delivery schedule which in further make a better operation and service over the whole process of sugar distribution. At same time a policy of safety stock or inventory leveling could minimize stock out occasion by the increasing of service level from 25% to 38% that was close to standard deviation of demand during lead time.

Abstract

This study examines the model development of the drying process of corn grains as a dynamic system. The appropriate use of a dynamic model for the drying process of corn grains could lead to an effective method for optimizing the system. The optimal control strategy can be determined by predicting the future behaviors of the process using a dynamic model. In this work, the dynamic characteristic of the water loss of corn grains during dynamics treatment of temperature in the drying process was measured in a continuous manner using a precise load cell. The nonlinear autoregressive with external input (NARX) neural network is used to identify and develop a model of dynamic characteristics of the drying process of corn grains. Then for model training and validation, the dynamic responses of the rate of water loss of corn grains to drying temperature were used. A three-layered NARX neural network model consists of 1-10-1 number neurons of each layer with two times delay was successfully developed to identify and make a model such a complex system. The developed model showed the accuracy of the rate water loss of corn grains during the drying process with the mean square error (MSE), and coefficient of determination (R-squared) values are 1.88892 x 10-4 and 0.891594 consecutively.

Abstract

The inception of the 4.0 industrial era led to the evolution of internet information technology, which significantly changed the business sector’s marketing, transaction, and payment systems into online stores.  This new marketplace is an important business infrastructure used to develop marketing strategies in this technological era. Therefore, it enables companies or enterprises, including those in the retail sector, to remotely sell daily products, such as cooking needs, foods, snacks, beverages, toiletries, and laundries through various online platforms. Furthermore, these companies need to creatively and anticipatively participate in the various trading competition by having an online shopping channel. This study aims to measure consumer behavior intention in using the online store channel to purchase daily needs products in order to determine the influence of convenience and risk transactions on behavioral intentions. Data were obtained from respondents that consistently make use of online stores channel. The result showed that consumers’ ease and convenience during transactions, especially in terms of payment and delivery service, have a positive and significant effect on their attitude and behavioral intention to use online store channel to purchase daily needs products.

Abstract

This study was carried out to determine consumer perceptions and preferences of pasteurized milk products with the Susu Nasional brand sold daily by mobile vendors. The influence of these perceptions and preferences on buying decision for Susu Nasional products was directed at the development of a contingency plan for companies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were collected through the use of questionnaires and purposive sampling from 20 indicators consisting of 13 exogenous and seven endogenous indicators. The collected data were analyzed using a descriptive statistical method with a partial least square structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The results showed a decrease in the buying decision of Susu Nasional products with an increase in the mobile selling implemented by the company due to the vendors’ hospitality, comfort, availability of the product, and the close distance between mobile vendors and customers. On the other hand, the use of attributes by mobile vendors still needs to be increased during the pandemic through the addition of a point of sale by setting up a booth for consumer. In conclusion, PLS-SEM analysis showed that consumer perceptions and preferences positively and significantly influenced 60% of the decision to buy Susu Nasional during the pandemic.

Abstract

Every marketing organization, whether manufacturing or service provider company is required to create differentiation, positioning, and competitive strategies. The most important factor to increase competitiveness in the field is quality of service. Therefore, providing good service appropriate to the expectations and desires of consumers is essential to create and ensure satisfaction. Tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy are significantly related to consumer’s retention efforts. It is important to analyze the relationship between consumers and the product or service offered to understand that consumers have diverse desires when trying new product or service. This study aimed to investigate the priority of service attributes requiring improvements in coffee and coworking spaces, as well as provide suggestions for improvements based on observations. The variables were in the dimensions of service quality (tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy). Furthermore, relevant data were collected through questionnaires, while nonprobability sampling method was adopted. Analysis method included Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and Potential Gain in Customer Value (PGCV). The respondents were 300 consumers of K, R, and S. IPA results identified three attributes in quadrant I, which were sorted by PGCV priority. These attributes included tangible variables (4), empathy (19), and responsiveness (9). Recommendations for improvements included checking all available facilities, providing training to improve employee skills for service, and proactiveness in interaction by offering available menus.
