Abstract

Laut menjadi sangat penting karena berperan dalam proses terbentuknya awan dan hujan. Perubahan suhu muka laut dapat mempengaruhi kondisi atmosfer begitu pula sebaliknya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengungkapkan hubungan antara indeks penguapan perairan di sekitar Provinsi Aceh dengan sebaran curah hujan di wilayah Provinsi Aceh. Analisis ini dihitung berdasarkan indikator suhu muka laut, suhu udara permukaan dan angin zonal permukaan. Analisis hubungan curah hujan dengan indeks penguapan menggunakan metode korelasi yang selanjutnya dispasialkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Provinsi Aceh memiliki pola hujan yang beragam, curah hujan yang tinggi terjadi di wilayah tengah sampai ke wilayah barat selatan Provinsi Aceh dimana wilayah ini memiliki topografi tinggi, dan curah hujan semakin rendah ke arah timur dan utara Provinsi Aceh. Hubungan indeks penguapan di perairan sekitar Provinsi Aceh dengan sebaran curah hujan menunjukkan nilai korelasi yang sangat bervariasi, secara umum korelasi paling kuat terjadi di bulan Agustus dengan nilai korelasi 0,952 antara curah hujan di pos hujan Lamno dengan indeks penguapan di grid 17.The ocean is incredibly necessary as a role in the process of forming clouds and rain. Changes in sea surface temperature will affect part conditions and vice versa. This study purposed to reveal the connection between the evaporation index of the waters around Aceh Province and, therefore, the rainfall distribution in the Aceh Province. This analysis calculates supported sea surface temperature, surface air temperature, and surface zonal winds. Analysis of the relationship between rainfall and evaporation index mistreatment is the correlation technique that is then spatialized. The result shows that Aceh Province has a type of high rainfall pattern, that happens within the central region to the southwest region wherever this region is a high topography, while lower rainfall is obtained towards the east and north of Aceh Province. The correlation between the evaporation index in the waters around Aceh Province and therefore the distribution of rainfall shows an extremely variable correlation, generally, the strongest correlation occurs in August with a correlation value of 0.952 between rainfall in the Lamno rain post and the evaporation index on grid 17.

Abstract

Studi hasil citra diagnostik paparan sinar-X menggunakan material kayu lokal sebagai phantom berbentuk stepwedge telah berhasil dilakukan. Pada penelitian jenis kayu lokal yang digunakan adalah kayu jenis seumantok (Shorea macroptera). Stepwedge aluminium sebanyak 11 tingkat digunakan sebagai pembanding dengan geometri tinggi 3,3 cm, lebar 6,2 cm dan panjang 14 cm. Tegangan dan arus ekspos mesin sinar X terhadap objek divariasikan agar hasil citra yang tajam dapat diperoleh. Hasil ekspos dari objek stepwedge Seumantok diperoleh kondisi paling tajam pada keadaan tanpa grid dengan mengatur arus pada 2,5 mAs dan tegangan pada 44 kV sehingga diperoleh titik densitas optis oleh stepwedge Seumantok berada antara 0,82-1,50. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa objek dari stepwedge kayu Seumantok mendapatkan citra diagnostik terbaik pada tegangan dan arus yang rendah.Kata kunci: x-ray; stepwedge; aluminium; kayu seumantok; citra diagnostik

Abstract

ABSTRACTLung cancer is a malignant tumor that develops in the lower respiratory system, including cells in the walls of the bronchi and bronchioles. Lung cancer originates from genetic changes in cells in the lungs. Improper treatment of lung cancer can cause the cancer to spread to other nearby tissues around the lungs. By conducting early detection of lung cancer, it will help patients to get appropriate treatment. One of the medical instruments used to detect lung cancer is the CT-Scan. This instrument’s examination can provide information about the location, size, characteristics of the tumor, lymph node spread, and tissue infiltration into the surroundings, thus helping to determine the clinical stage of lung cancer. Organ size determination is one of the analysis of pulmonary image for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. The purpose of this study was to obtain information on the volume of lung cancer based on the results of CT Scan images using Image J software. Information on the edges of the lungs affected by cancer was carried out by the edge detection method. The results of this study show that Image-J software can provide a clear picture of the edges of the cancer and obtain accurate cancer volume at each image slice. Based on calculations obtained in the 1st patient, it was calculated to have a volume of 128 cm3, in the 2nd patient of 447 cm3 and in the 3rd patient of 335 cm3, respectively.Keywords: Ct Scan image; lung cancer; edge detection; volume analysis; Image JABSTRAKKanker paru merupakan tumor ganas yang berkembang pada sistem pernapasan bagian bawah, termasuk sel-sel di dinding bronkus dan bronkiolus. Kanker paru berawal dari perubahan genetik sel di dalam paru-paru. Penanganan kanker paru yang tidak tepat dapat menyebabkan kanker menyebar ke jaringan lain yang terdekat di sekitar paru-paru. Dengan dilakukan pendeteksian dini kanker paru, maka akan sangat membantu penderita agar mendapatkan penanganan yang cepat dan tepat. Salah satu instrumen medis yang digunakan untuk mendeteksi kanker paru adalah pesawat CT-Scan. Pemeriksaan CT-Scan dapat memberikan informasi tentang lokasi, ukuran, karakteristik tumor, penyebaran kelenjar getah bening, dan infiltrasi jaringan ke sekitarnya sehingga membantu penetapan stadium klinis kanker paru. Penentuan ukuran organ merupakan salah satu analisa terhadap citra paru untuk keperluan diagnosa dan terapi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah memperoleh informasi volume kanker paru berdasarkan hasil citra CT Scan menggunakan Image J. Informasi gambaran tepi paru yang terkena kanker dilakukan dengan metode deteksi tepi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa software Image-J dapat memberikan gambaran tepi kanker yang jelas dan diperoleh volume kanker yang akurat pada setiap irisan citra. Berdasarkan perhitungan didapatkan pada pasien ke-1 terhitung memiliki volume sebesar 128 cm3, pada pasien ke-2 sebesar 447 cm3 dan pada pasien ke-3 sebesar 335 cm3.Kata kunci: CT Scan; Kanker paru; deteksi tepi; analisis volume; Image J

Abstract

The effect of coffee ground particle size by the boiling method on the values of physical and chemical parameters is studied. The coffee used is Arabica (Luwak, wine, honey) and Robusta from the Gayo Highlands, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Extraction of the coffee brew uses the boiling method with different particle sizes of coffee grounds (fine and coarse). The caffeine content in the coffee brew is identified using the FieldSpec4 Hi-Res Spectrometer. The particle size of coffee grounds affected the coffee brew's physical properties and caffeine content. The physical properties in the form of the pH value of Arabica coffee brew are lower than Robusta in a range from 4.87 to 4.97 and 5.13 to 5.28, respectively. The pH of coffee brew with fine particle sizes is slightly higher than for coarse ones for Robusta coffee brew. The density of the brew is in the vicinity range of 0.99 g/cm3. Arabica and Robusta brews differ in viscosity and caffeine release, influenced by coffee particle size. Coarse particles yield more caffeine in Arabica, while fine particles release more in Robusta, demonstrating the impact of grind size on caffeine extraction in coffee.

Abstract

Earthquakes and tsunamis natural disasters have repeatedly occurred on the coast of Aceh province, which lies between the confluence of two plates. The tsunami deposits in this area can provide important information regarding the reconstruction of marine attacks by past earthquakes and tsunamis. In general, tsunami deposits can be identified based on their geological, sedimentological, paleontological, and geochemical characteristics. In our research work, spectrometry X-ray fluorescence (XRF) has been utilized to investigate the geochemical signatures of tsunami-affected soil samples in Aceh province at three tsunami-impacted areas, namely Aceh Besar regency, Banda Aceh City, and Aceh Barat regency. The sampling point is located about a kilometer from the coastal line. Our findings indicate that tsunami-affected soils in Aceh Province after 10 years struck by tsunami contain terrestrial markers such as Fe and Ti, carbonate markers (Mg, Ca), and heavy metals elements (Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Sr). On the other hand, in our study, the concentration ratios of several elements such as Si/Ti and Ca/Ti seem most suitable as a chemical signature for differentiating environmental conditions such as the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami event. It could be noticed that geochemical analysis by XRF can be applied to characterize the tsunami-affected soils in several coastal areas of Aceh province.

Abstract

The results of PISA 2022 show that Indonesian students are still weak in science literacy, mathematics, and technology-based problem solving, which are the basis for developing computational thinking (CT) skills. CT includes four primary indicators: decomposition to break down significant problems into smaller parts, pattern recognition to find similarities in data, abstraction to filter out irrelevant information, and algorithms to design systematic steps in solving problems. There are many ways to train CT, so this study uses block programming and the Quarky robot. This approach was chosen because it is visual and interactive and makes it easier to apply CT concepts practically, making it suitable for building 21st-century skills. The study was conducted in two high schools in Banda Aceh, involving 20 students from school A and 26 students from school B. Students were divided into two study groups in each school. Learning activities were designed based on STEMC in the form of Student Worksheets (LKPD), which include interactive learning scenarios, block programming challenges, and exploration of the Quarky robot's functions to solve real problems. The activities were arranged in stages, from a basic introduction to applying CT concepts in solving complex problems. The results showed a significant increase in students' CT abilities, especially in the algorithm indicator. Although both schools progressed, school B recorded higher growth, with better pre-test and post-test results than school A. This shows that block programming-based learning and Quarky robots effectively improve CT skills, which is essential in 21st-century education

Abstract

This study presents an innovative pedagogical tool for teaching dielectrophoresis (DEP) and electrokinetics. We developed a cost-effective lab-on-chip device featuring oblique and V-shaped microelectrode arrays within microchannels to demonstrate electric field effects on biological particles in real-time. The device utilizes copper and indium tin oxide (Cu-ITO) microelectrodes with double-sided tape insulators to create controlled microenvironments. Red blood cells suspended in deionized water and EDTA medium (conductivity: 1.5 S/m) serve as model bioparticles for visualization experiments. We manipulate sinusoidal AC signals (5-15 Vpp) while observing particle behavior through microscopy with charge-coupled device (CCD) recording capabilities. The hands-on approach enables direct observation of how voltage amplitude and frequency affect particle polarization and movement, bridging theoretical concepts with experimental reality. The results showed significant improvement in conceptual understanding of electric fields, force interactions, and bioelectronics applications compared to traditional lecture-based instruction. This educational tool addresses key learning objectives in electromagnetism and biophysics by providing immediate visual feedback of abstract concepts. The device's simplicity enables integration into existing laboratory curricula while promoting active learning, scientific inquiry, and critical thinking. The approach demonstrates practical applications of physics principles in biotechnology and medical diagnostics, enhancing student engagement and career relevance. This work contributes to physics education research by offering a scalable, low-cost method for teaching complex electrokinetic phenomena through direct experimentation.
