Abstract

Abstract

The marginalization of women's rights and roles is often pinned on Islamic teachings that are sourced from the Qur'an, but is it true that the argument for the castration of women's rights is in the Qur'an? The purpose of this study is to find common threads of similarities and differences between men and women according to the Qur'an, so that later it can be emphasized which women's rights are. This research is based on library data related to the subject matter discussed. The data collection method is sourced from primary and secondary data using content analysis. The results of the study reveal that, according to Quraish Shihab based on surah al-Nahl verse 97, it shows that men and women are both creatures of God. There is no difference between the two, the only difference is faith and piety. And this verse also shows how women are also required to be involved in activities that are beneficial, both for themselves and their families, as well as for society and the nation and mankind as a whole.

This study employs qualitative techniques, incorporating a literature review that investigates both classical and modern commentaries along with literature on Islamic psychology. The findings suggest that these passages embody spiritual principles that may alleviate Fear of Missing Out, including recognition of the world's impermanence, the significance of self-acceptance, and confidence in and contentment with God's provisions. The main cause of syndrome is an irrational fear (intense anxiety) regarding the information acquired, frequently resulting in feelings of discontent and diminished self-worth.

Abstract

Abstract

Debt transactions constitute an important aspect of muamalah with social and ethical implications. The Qur’an addresses this issue in QS. Al-Baqarah: 282–283, which regulates debt transactions in detail. However, existing studies tend to emphasize legal and procedural aspects, with limited attention to their ethical dimensions. This study aims to analyze the ethical values of debt transactions in the Qur’an using a thematic (maudhu’i) tafsir approach. It employs a qualitative library research method. The analysis is conducted through stages of thematic interpretation, including determining the theme, collecting related verses, analyzing the context of the verses (asbāb al-nuzūl and munāsabah), and examining the interpretations of mufasirs. The findings reveal that these verses highlight not only procedural aspects, such as documentation and witnesses, but also ethical principles, including justice, trustworthiness, responsibility, and protection of vulnerable parties. This study offers an ethical reading of debt transactions, which have been predominantly understood in legal terms, thereby emphasizing their foundation in social justice within the Qur’anic framework.

Abstract

Riba is a fundamental concept in Islamic muamalah that is explicitly prohibited in the Qur’an, yet it continues to generate interpretive debates within the context of modern economic practices. This study aims to reconstruct the meaning of riba in the Qur’an and to analyze the challenges of its interpretation in contemporary economic systems. This research employs a qualitative method using a library research approach with thematic (maudhu’i) tafsir. The study focuses on Qur’anic verses related to riba, particularly in Surah Al-Baqarah, Ali Imran, An-Nisa, and Ar-Rum, as interpreted by classical and contemporary exegetes. The findings indicate that riba in the Qur’an is not merely understood as an additional charge in debt transactions, but rather as an exploitative economic practice that contradicts the principles of justice and social welfare. This reconstruction highlights that the prohibition of riba is closely related to ethical and socio-economic dimensions, not solely formalistic legal aspects. Therefore, a contextual understanding of riba is necessary to address the complexities of modern economic systems.

Abstract

online marketplace platforms that facilitate faster and more efficient economic transactions. However, the emergence of digital marketplaces also raises issues related to the legality of transactions, transparency, and ethical standards from an Islamic perspective. This study aims to analyze digital marketplace practices through a thematic interpretation (al-tafsīr al-mawḍū‘ī) of Qur’anic verses related to mu‘āmalah and to examine their relevance within the framework of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah.This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods. Primary sources include the Qur’an and classical as well as contemporary tafsir works, while secondary sources consist of books, journal articles, and previous studies related to digital marketplaces and Islamic economics. The study focuses on the analysis of QS. al-Baqarah: 275, QS. an-Nisā’: 29, and QS. al-Baqarah: 282.The findings indicate that digital marketplaces can be considered compatible with Islamic principles when they uphold lawful transactions, mutual consent, transparency, and clarity of contracts, while avoiding ribā, gharar, fraud, and deceptive practices. These principles are closely related to the objectives of maqāṣid al-syarī‘ah, particularly in protecting wealth (ḥifẓ al-māl) and preventing harm in economic transactions. Therefore, integrating Qur’anic ethical values into digital marketplace systems is essential for establishing fair, transparent, and sustainable digital commerce.
