Abstract

This research examines the process of disseminating the hijrah doctrine on social media, as well as the themes and motives attached to its dissemination. This study is a literature review using a virtual ethnography research model. Through a traveling theory approach, the study finds that: First, the dissemination of the hijrah doctrine on social media is predominantly carried out and shared by urban Muslims and millennial Muslims. Second, common themes used to disseminate the hijrah doctrine include Islamic clothing, early marriage propaganda, bank interest, and motivation for building an Islamic Caliphate state. These themes are disseminated through Hijrah Fest events, social media study groups, the narrative of agency socialization through artists and celebrities, and Islamist literature. This study argues that the dissemination of the hijrah doctrine on social media constitutes a form of religious commodification, with a larger agenda of promoting the movement to establish an Islamic Caliphate state.

Abstract

The main character education for a child is the family environment. This article describes the parenting pattern and strengthening of modern Muslimah character with the values of the Al-Quran Surah Al-Hadid verse 20 at the Al-Mujtama' Al-Islami Islamic Boarding School in Pamekasan Regency, Madura. This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological approach. Data sources were taken from six informants consisting of 3 teachers and 3 administrators. With data collection techniques of interviews, observation, and documentation. Stages of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study concluded that the typology of parenting patterns applied tends to be democratic parenting patterns. The values of the Muslimah character based on research findings inspired by the Al-Hadid verse 20 of the Qur'an include obedience, compassion, discipline, sincerity, and caring for the environment.

Abstract

Tulisan ini hendak mngungkap dan mnyingkap hukum mengangkat Pemimpinan non muslim di negara mayoritas muslim dalam tinjauan Al-Quran dengan mengkonstruksikan pada dua hal; Pertama, Al-Maidah 51 dan 57, Annisa’ 139 dan 144. Kedua, QS. Ali-Imran[5]:28, Kajian ini menghasilkan kesimpulan sebagai berikut; 1) Mengangkat orang kafir sebagai auliya>’: wali, pemimpin, penolong, penguasa atau orang-orang penting yang mengurus urusan kaum muslimin adalah tidak diperbolehkan bahkan bisa dikatakan haram, karena dapat merugikan mereka sendiri baik dalam urusan agama maupun dalam kepentingan umat. 2) Dalam QS. Ali-Imran[5]:28, terdapat Pengecualian tentang bolehnya berhubungan dengan orang kafir hanya dalam kondisi darurat seperti; orang yang berada di suatu negeri dan pada waktu tertentu, merasa takut pada kejahatan orang-orang kafir, maka baginya di perbolehkan bersiasat secara lahirnya saja bukan secara batin dan niatnya. Sebagaimana Imam al-Bukhari meriwayatkan dari Abu Darda’, ia berkata: “sesunggunya kami menampakkan wajah cerah kepada beberapa orang kafir, sedang hati kami melaknatnya”.

Abstract

This article tends to discover the secrets of Al-Quran in eradicating poverty in some aspects, by collecting some verses that are not only in line with physical aspect but also spiritual and social one, then analized by using thematic-analitical method of interpretation. The result, to eradicate that multidiminsional proverty should evolve three aspects of way, that are, first: the aspect of spiritual that is related to Allah vertically; second, the personal aspect that is related to his effort to reduce even erase that poverty; third, social sensitivity aspect that is related to his self as a carefull individu to others as being cared that need his carefullness.

Abstract

For several centuries, traditional exegesis has played a crucial role in understanding the Quran within Islamic heritage. However, the significance of traditional exegesis has emerged as a profound debate in the era of modern Quranic research. The aim of this research is to conduct a critical analysis of the importance of traditional exegesis in the context of modern Quranic sciences. The research findings indicate that traditional exegesis holds historical and intellectual value that cannot be disregarded in comprehending the Quran. Nevertheless, it also faces a number of criticisms that need to be addressed in a contemporary context. This research discusses various efforts aimed at addressing these criticisms, including adaptation, reexamination, and integration with modern scholarly methodologies, highlighting the significant role of Muslim scholars and intellectuals in preserving the importance of traditional exegeses while remaining open to innovation and necessary changes to confront the challenges of the modern era.

Abstract

The phenomenon of religious-cultural syncretism in Indonesia’s coastal communities remains underexplored within the framework of living Qur’an studies, especially regarding the interpretation of maritime Qur’anic verses in local ritual practices. The sea offering tradition (sedekah laut) in Pamekasan, Madura, represents an actualization of Islamic values intertwined with local wisdom; however, its direct connection to Qur’anic maritime verses has yet to be thoroughly investigated. This study aims to explore how the fishing communities in Pamekasan interpret and actualize the values of maritime Qur’anic verses in the context of the sea offering ritual. A qualitative ethnographic approach was employed through participant observation, in-depth interviews with religious leaders and fishermen, and document and classical tafsir analysis. The findings reveal that the sea is perceived as a manifestation of Allah’s greatness, a source of sustenance, and a test of faith that must be honored and preserved. The sea offering ritual functions as a symbolic integration of Islamic teachings and local cultural practices, strengthening both social solidarity and ecological awareness. Verses such as QS. Al-Furqān (25): 53, Al-Mulk (67): 15, Al-Nahl (16): 14, and Al-A’rāf (7): 163 are contextualized through the combination of prayers and cultural symbols, including bitek (miniature boats made of banana trunks) and seven-colored flowers. This study contributes significantly to the advancement of contextual Qur’anic interpretation and Islamic anthropology by highlighting the dynamic integration of sacred texts and local cultural practices. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for developing a more adaptive model of contextual exegesis that aligns with social realities and the preservation of Islamic-based local traditions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi Badan Pengawas Pemilu (Bawaslu) Kabupaten Tolitoli dalam mencegah praktik politik uang pada Pemilu 2024 di Kecamatan Baolan. Pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara mendalam, dokumentasi, dan triangulasi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa strategi Bawaslu meliputi sosialisasi, pengawasan partisipatif, dan penegakan hukum. Namun, hambatan seperti keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat, dan kendala implementasi regulasi menjadi tantangan utama. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan kolaborasi dengan masyarakat serta optimalisasi penggunaan teknologi dalam pengawasan.

Abstract

This study bridges a gap in the integration of Islamic exegesis and contemporary psychological frameworks regarding digital age anxieties feelings of anxiety over potentially missing information, trends, or experiences that others are having. This study employs qualitative techniques, incorporating a literature review that investigates both classical and modern commentaries along with literature on Islamic psychology. The findings suggest that these passages embody spiritual principles that may alleviate Fear of Missing Out, including recognition of the world's impermanence, the significance of self-acceptance, and confidence in and contentment with God's provisions. The main cause of syndrome is an irrational fear (intense anxiety) regarding the information acquired, frequently resulting in feelings of discontent and diminished self-worth.

Abstract

Traditional gender roles persistently position men as primary breadwinners and decision-makers, while relegating women to domestic and caregiving responsibilities, thereby reinforcing systemic gender inequality and restricting women’s access to equitable education and employment opportunities. This study employs an inclusive hermeneutical approach to Qur’anic exegesis—integrating textual analysis, contextual considerations, and principles of openness—to reconceptualize gender dynamics in Madurese society, where patriarchal interpretations remain entrenched. Through descriptive-analytical methodology, the research demonstrates that an inclusive interpretive framework, responsive to contemporary sociocultural conditions, offers a transformative understanding of gender roles by harmonizing religious hermeneutics with local realities. The findings highlight the approach’s efficacy in advancing more equitable and contextually relevant solutions, thereby fostering a more just and humane gender paradigm in Madura.

Abstract

Kegiatan Cooking Demo Expo yang diselenggarakan oleh Dosen dan KKN 7 UMS Rappang di Desa Timoreng Panua bertujuan untuk memberdayakan masyarakat melalui pemanfaatan bahan pangan lokal menjadi produk kuliner modern yang memiliki nilai seni, budaya, dan ekonomi. Metode dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan mahasiswa, masyarakat, dan pelaku UMKM lokal. Tahapan kegiatan mencakup persiapan, sosialisasi, pelatihan, cooking demo, pendampingan UMKM, dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada keterampilan peserta dalam mengolah produk kuliner berbasis tanaman lokal dengan sentuhan seni budaya dalam penyajian dan kemasan. Selain itu, peserta juga mendapatkan pemahaman mengenai strategi kewirausahaan, pemasaran digital, dan peluang usaha. Program ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap pemberdayaan ekonomi lokal dan mendorong inovasi produk yang berbasis pada potensi daerah.
