Abstract

Background: Peer education programs provided in schools are one method to help prevent drug abuse; however, the effectiveness of these programs relies, in part, on their delivery to the population in need. Therefore, the effectiveness of the program relies on the self-efficacy of peer educators. The peer education program helps students to practice their skills as peer educators in avoiding drug abuse. Aims: This study aimed to explore the students’ self-efficacy as peer educators after being a peer educator in the peer education program. Methods: In-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted with 45 student peer educators in Middle schools located in Surabaya, Indonesia. Results: Adolescents who acted as student peers perceived and experienced an improvement in their knowledge and ability to help their peers avoid drug abuse. Conclusion: The peer education program is perceived to improve students’ self-efficacy in counseling tasks, to learn analytical skills, and to maintain positive behavior.

Abstract

Background: The behavior of Handwashing with Soap (HWWS) is a method of hand hygiene maintenance that protects oneself and those around from diseases. However, the habit of washing hands with soap might not be a routine practice among adolescent students in maintaining daily personal hygiene. The purpose of this study was to analyze the factors related to HWWS behavior among the students of Islamic boarding school based on the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Method: This research was an observational study with a cross-sectional design. The sample consists of 104 students, aged 10 to 21 years old (53 male and 51 female) selected purposively. The data analysis conducted to assess the strength of relationships between four elements in the TPB and HWWS behavior as well using the contingency coefficient and Spearman correlation. Result: The results of the study show that behavioral intention was strongly associated with HWWS behavior (C = 0.609, p < 0.001). Meanwhile, the four TPB elements had moderate level of associations (C = 0.484 – 0.594, p < 0.001). To conclude, efforts are needed to improve HWWS facilities and strengthen HWWS behavior through programs tailored to the students' characteristics and needs.

Abstract

Background: Conventional health promotion media such as leaflets are considered not to meet the needs of patients for health information. Ineffective health promotion media can contribute to the occurrence of a health problem. The HEY Website is a health promotion media that is aligned with the current situation which is the digital era. Objectives: This study was conducted to analyze the increase in knowledge of high school students who have received edutainment interventions from the HEY Website. Methods: This research was quantitative research with a quasi-experimental research design in the form of peer educator training using the HEY website. The respondents of this study were 50 high school students at SMAN 1 Turen in Malang Regency with the inclusion criteria being grade X and XI and active in student organizations as they may bring better influence among peers. Results: There was an increase in knowledge, as shown by the average pretest score of 64.5. After the training, the post-test score showed an average number of 86.2. Statistical analysis also showed significant results in knowledge differences before and after the intervention (P=0,000). Conclusion: The HEY website as a digital-based adolescent health promotion media proved significant in increasing student knowledge about adolescent health.

Abstract

Leadership and women when combined are always two words that can cause controversy. Women’s leadership is a sensitive topic related to the issues of feminism, emancipation and gender issues. Women’s ladership is also a topic that is always interesting, because of the different contexts in which women live, in addition to the different interpretations of religious texts, so that the theme of women’s leadership is never final. This study aims to reveal texts that discuss women’s leadership, due to differences of oponion between whether or not a woman can be a leader. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive narrative approach, a type of literature study, and uses a data analysis method using interpretative thematic analysis. The results of the study reveal that a woman is allowed to be a leader, because a women has advantages that are considered capable of leading well.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengetahui praktek pengelolaan wakaf di Masjid Raya Al-Falah Sragen, dan (2) menganalisis penerapan Undang-Undang Nomor 41 Tahun 2004 Tentang Wakaf terkait tentang standarisasi kompetensi nadzir pada nadzir di Masjid Raya Al-Falah Sragen. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan hukum normatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengelolaan wakaf di Masjid Raya Al-Falah Sragen mencakup kategori wakaf produktif dan program berbasis aset wakaf, yang berkontribusi pada kesejahteraan dan pengembangan ekonomi masyarakat. Namun, nadzir belum sepenuhnya memenuhi standar sesuai dengan Undang-Undang Nomor 41 Tahun 2004 Tentang Wakaf, khususnya terkait pendaftaran resmi, pelaksanaan tugas administratif, pengelolaan, dan pelaporan aset wakaf. Hak-hak nadzir juga belum terpenuhi sesuai dengan peraturan. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan jumlah nadzir yang kompeten, penyediaan pendidikan dan pelatihan untuk nadzir, serta penguatan pemahaman dan kepatuhan terhadap regulasi wakaf. Upaya ini diharapkan dapat mendukung optimalisasi pengelolaan aset wakaf di Masjid Raya Al-Falah Sragen.layanan berupa pendampingan yang dibagi menjadi 3 yaitu pendampingan medis, pendampingan psikologis, dan pendampingan hukum.

Abstract

The production process in the oil and gas industry, which is a major demand, still plays a huge role in carbon emissions, especially in the refining process. The energy and industrial sectors are responsible for more than 75% of these global CO2 emissions. This condition is an important issue regarding the effort to reduce climate change due to these emissions by implementing CCU. This article aims to examine methods of carbon capture with chemical absorption by solvents and to compose a model diagram of carbon utilization with microalgae. An extensive literature search was conducted in accordance with the scoping review methodology and the PEO framework. Our search criteria were limited to article research within the last 5 years (2017–2021). Themes found from this review included the CCU method in general, carbon capture by solvent method, type of solvent used, advantages and disadvantages, and utilization of carbon in the gas and oil industries. CCU is a model that can be offered as an alternative to reduce CO2 emissions produced by industry. The scoping review result shows the best method for carbon capture is with monoethanolamine (MEA) solvent. The flue gas from post-combustion streams into the absorption column and the solvent is added. The carbon-rich solvent is regenerated by heat to produce a clean solvent to be reused in the capture cycle. Carbon that has been absorbed by the MEA in the form of gas will be channeled through pipes to the microalgae industry as utilization of captured carbon and then converted to biofuels. It was discovered that MEA is a cost-effective solvent, efficiently captures carbon, and can be used repeatedly. However, the amine emissions from MEA are considered hazardous. The conclusion is that MEA solvent has advantages and disadvantages. Further optimization research is needed to determine the preeminent capture and separation process. Thus, it is necessary to determine the best conditions for the use of captured carbon by microalgae.

Abstract

Introduction: Adolescent health education is essential for promoting long-term well-being, yet many students lack access to effective and engaging learning approaches. This study evaluates the impact of structured teacher training combined with edutainment-based interventions on improving adolescent health knowledge and behavioral intentions using the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) in Malang Regency, Indonesia. Methods: A quantitative pre-experimental design was used with a pre-test–intervention–post-test structure. The study involved 22 teachers from five schools and 56 junior high school students from SMPN 1 Kepanjen, Malang. The intervention included comprehensive teacher training and interactive edutainment sessions for students, covering topics such as adolescent characteristics, physical activity, assertive communication, and time management. Knowledge changes were analyzed using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. Results: The intervention significantly increased knowledge in both groups. Students' average scores improved from 73.2 (pre-test) to 84.4 (post-test) (p < 0.001), while teachers’ scores increased from 69 to 83.4 (p < 0.001). However, no significant changes were observed in students' subjective norms, behavioral control, or behavioral intentions. Conclusion: Combining structured teacher training with edutainment is an effective strategy for enhancing adolescent health knowledge. This approach provides a scalable model for improving health literacy, though further efforts are needed to influence behavioral intentions and self-efficacy.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of manipulative media on students' learning interest in thematic learning class 1 of SD Negeri 62 Sungai Raya. The method used is the experimental method, while the research design used is a quasi-experimental design. The independent variable (X) in this study is the influence of manipulative media, while the dependent variable (Y) is learning interest. The population included in this study were students in class 1 A as the control class and class 1 B as the experimental class at SD Negeri 62 Sungai Raya. Class A has 18 students consisting of 12 male students and 6 female students. Meanwhile, class 1 B has 18 students consisting of 9 male students and 9 female students. The sample in this study were students in class 1 B (experimental class) and 1 A (control class) of SD Negeri 62 Sungai Raya. The technique used to determine the experimental and control classes uses simple random sampling. In data collection, researchers used observation sheets and questionnaires. Based on the results of the T-test the effect of manipulative media on learning interest. Through the normality test and homogeneity test first, then the t test was carried out which obtained the post-test test scores for the experimental class and the control class, obtained tcount and ttable 1.691 (α ₌ 5%, dk ₌ 18 + 18 – 2 = 34) equal to . Because tcount 2.849 > ttable 1.691, then Ha is accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is significant influence and difference between the experimental class that uses manipulative media and the control class does not use manipulative media.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat merupakan bagian integral dari keterlibatan komunitas akademik yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan dan kualitas hidup masyarakat. Salah satu tantangan utama dalam mengajar bahasa Inggris di sekolah dasar adalah minimnya sumber daya pendidikan yang berkualitas. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi penggunaan metode kreatif dalam pengajaran bahasa Inggris di SD Negeri 1 Kutacane, dengan memanfaatkan lagu dan permainan sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan kosa kata bahasa Inggris siswa. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi lagu dan permainan dalam proses belajar mengajar secara signifikan meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dan memperkaya perbendaharaan kata mereka. Lagu membantu meningkatkan keterampilan mendengar dan berbicara siswa, sementara permainan mendorong suasana belajar yang interaktif dan menyenangkan, sehingga siswa lebih termotivasi dan aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini berkolaborasi dengan guru dan siswa untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan spesifik kosakata dan merancang aktivitas yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan tersebut. Pendekatan ini diharapkan dapat memperluas kosa kata bahasa Inggris siswa dan meningkatkan kemampuan mereka dalam berkomunikasi dalam bahasa asing dengan lebih percaya diri dan lancar.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas potensi penggunaan game edukatif digital dalam meningkatkan minat belajar siswa sekolah dasar secara teoritis. Kajian ini dilakukan melalui pendekatan studi literatur dengan menelaah berbagai teori belajar, seperti teori konstruktivistik dan behavioristik, serta hasil penelitian terdahulu yang relevan. Game edukatif digital dinilai mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih interaktif, menyenangkan, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan kognitif, sosial, serta emosional siswa pada usia sekolah dasar. Media pembelajaran berbasis digital ini tidak hanya menawarkan hiburan, tetapi juga memberikan pengalaman belajar yang imersif melalui tantangan, narasi menarik, umpan balik instan, dan visualisasi yang merangsang. Selain itu, game edukatif dapat meningkatkan motivasi intrinsik siswa dengan menghadirkan sistem penghargaan, level yang menantang, serta keterlibatan aktif selama proses pembelajaran. Prinsip konstruktivistik dalam game mendorong siswa untuk membangun pemahaman melalui eksplorasi dan refleksi, sedangkan prinsip behavioristik berperan dalam memperkuat kebiasaan belajar melalui penguatan positif. Dengan perencanaan dan desain pedagogis yang matang, game edukatif digital tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai alat bantu, tetapi juga sebagai strategi pembelajaran yang inovatif. Kesimpulannya, integrasi game edukatif digital memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan minat dan motivasi belajar siswa sekolah dasar dalam konteks pembelajaran abad ke-21.
