Abstract

Cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) was a plant that has high economic value. The application of phosphate fertilizers in inorganic forms is not friendly to the environment and is slowly available to plants. This research was carried out from October 2019 to January 2020 in Pancot Village, Kalisoro Village, Tawangmangu District, Karanganyar Regency with an altitude of 1200 meters above sea level and Andisol soil type. This study used a completely randomized design with two treatment factors (factorial), namely the first factor is the dose of fast soluble phosphate fertilizer namely 0 kg/ha (no SP36 fertilizer), 150 kg/ha (one application), 150 kg/ha (3 times application), 100 kg/ha (3 times application), and 50 kg/ha (3 times application). The second factor is the dose of chicken manure consisting of 2 levels, namely 0 tons/ha (no chicken manure), and 40 tons/ha. Parameters observed were plant height, flowering age, fresh weight of the plant, number of branches, and number of fruit per plant. The results showed that fast soluble phosphate fertilizer had a very significant effect on plant fresh weight and fruit number. Manure treatment has a significant effect on the parameters of plant height, fresh weight of the plant, total fruit per plant. The interaction of fast soluble phosphate fertilizer and manure had a significant effect on flowering age, fresh weight, and the number of fruits per plant. The best results were in the interaction of fast soluble phosphate fertilizer with a dose of 50 kg/ha and 40 tons/ha of manure.

Abstract

The Assistance of Hybrid Orchid Agribusiness in Matesih District Karanganyar Regency. Matesih District of Karanganyar Regency is known as the center of ornamental plants including orchids. However, most of the farmers grow orchids by raise the juvenile orchids into adult orchids which are then sold. Farmers have not been able to produce seedlings as well as to transfer plantlets from tissue culture bottles to media in pots. These community service programs aim to provide knowledge and increase the skills of partner farmers in acclimatizing hybrid orchids. Therefore they can transfer orchid seeds with a high success rate and earn higher profits from their orchid agribusiness. The program was carried out in Plosorejo Village, Matesih District, Karanganyar Regency from April to October 2020. Partner farmers consist of two farmer groups, namely the farmer group of RT 002 RW XIII and Tani Rejo IX. This program has succeeded in increasing the knowledge and skills of partner farmers in acclimatizing hybrid orchids. In terms of business, this program is profitable because based on the calculation with a capital of Rp869.000, 00 generates a profit of Rp1.311.000,00 per four months with a BC ratio of 1.5.

Abstract

The nutrients of plants and the physical condition of the soil must both be considered to increase corn productivity. The continuous use of inorganic fertilizer without manures will cause a decrease in the physical properties of the soil. Therefore, this study aims to obtain doses of organic fertilizer from cow manure and inorganic fertilizers namely urea, KCl and SP-36 that will give the best effect on the physical properties of Alfisols, growth and yield of hybrid corn. The experiment was carried out using the randomized complete block design (RCBD) with two factors namely organic and inorganic fertilizers. Each factor was given at four dosages: 1, ¾, ½ and ¼ of the standard dose each with three replications. Observation parameters include bulk and particle density, soil porosity, aggregate stability, root volume and fresh weight, plant height, as well as the weight of corn with and without husks. The results showed that organic and inorganic fertilizers significantly affected bulk density, soil porosity, aggregate stability, root fresh weight, root volume, as well as the weight of corn with and without husks. Additionally, treatment with 7.5 to 10 tons of organic fertilizer as well as ¼, ¾ and 1 dose of inorganic fertilizers produced the best effect on soil physical properties of Alfisols, growth and yield of hybrid corn, while the lowest results were obtained in the control treatment. This indicates that organic treatment can reduce the use of inorganic fertilizers between ¼ to ¾ of the standard dose.

Abstract

The phalaenopsis hybrid has become an economically important flower in the horticultural sector. Phalaenopsis Fuller's Pink Stripe Orchid is a hybrid orchid resulting from a cross between Phalaenopsis Fuller's Pink Swallow and Phalaenopsis Fullers Black Stripe. Rice washing water (leri) is a residue that accumulates when washing rice. This residue is usually thrown away when it is actually rich in various organic and mineral compounds. Waste that is wasted in vain can be used as nutrients for the growth of orchid plants. This research was conducted to study the effect of dose and frequency of leri water spraying on the growth of Phalaenopsis Fuller's Pink Stripe orchid at the vegetative stage. This study consisted of 10 treatments, namely giving 5 ml of water every 2 days (L1), 10 ml every 2 days (L2), 15 ml every 2 days (L3), 5 ml every 4 days (L4). a dose of 10 ml every 4 days (L5), a dose of 15 ml every 4 days (L6), a dose of 5 ml every 6 days (L7), a dose of 10 ml every 6 days (L8), a dose of 15 ml every 6 days (L9), and control treatment (L0). Each treatment was repeated 3 times. Based on the results of the study, it are often all over that there's no important interaction between the dose and also the frequency of administration of Leri water on the growth and performance of the Phalaenopsis Fuller's Pink Stripe. Keywords: Rice Wash Water, Phalaenopsis Fuller's Pink Stripe, vegetative growth

Abstract

The study aims to identify the classes and the determinant factors of land suitability of Tobacco in order to provide recommendations for land management as an effort in increasing the development of Tobacco in Eromoko District, Wonogiri Regency, Indonesia. This research used a descriptive-exploratory approach by field surveys, laboratory analysis, and matching the data with growth requirement characteristics for Tobacco crops. The field survey was carried out based on a working map, namely the Land Mapping Unit (LMU), overlaid maps of soil type, slope, and rainfall. Research results illustrated that 18 LMUs were included in the marginally suitable class (S3) (4,968.78 ha, about 51% of research area) with limiting factors wa; oa; nr; na; eh, and 8 LMUs were included in the unsuitable class (N) (4,919.11 ha, about 49% of research area) with limiting factors N and eh. This study provide information about the land suitability class and the limiting factors each area to determine the potential success of Tobacco cultivation and make suitable improvement efforts. Keywords: Hilly land, Land management, Limiting factors, Sustainable agriculture, Tobacco growth potential.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the impact of Organic FertilizerPlus on soil fertility status, nutrient uptake, and soybean yield in Alfisol. The research employs a randomized complete group design (RCGD) with a single factor, consisting of P0 (Control), P1 (Cow dung, 5 tons ha-1 + Zeolite dose of 2.5 tons ha-1), P2 (Cow dung, 5 tons ha-1 + Zeolite dose of 5 tons ha-1), P3 (Cow dung, 5 tons ha-1 + Dolomite dose of 2.5 tons ha-1), P4 (Cow dung, 5 tons ha-1 + Dolomite dose of 5 tons ha-1), and P5 (Cow dung, 5 tons ha-1 + Zeolite dose of 5 tons ha-1 + Dolomite dose of 5 tons ha-1), repeated four times. The results indicate that the application of Organic FertilizerPlus enhances soil fertility status (pH, organic C, CEC, and available P), with the highest values observed in treatment P5, including pH (6.70), soil organic C (6.28 g.kg-1), cation exchange capacity (CEC) (6.85 cmol.g-1), and available P (2.63 mg.g-1). This leads to increased phosphorus uptake, consequently improving soybean yields. The highest soybean yield is achieved by applying Organic FertilizerPlus (P5) at 2.17 t.ha-1.
