Abstract

The Institute for Research and Community Service at the University of Lancang Kuning has the mandate in research and service activities which are the two dharmas of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The purpose of this study is to predict the determination of the budget amount for the University Income and Expenditure Budget (APBU) proposal approved at LPPM Unilak for the following year. Thus, it will make it easier for the LPPM leadership to make decisions on the acceptance of APBU proposals that are approved quickly and optimally. The data used in this research is APBU research and service proposal data approved in 2018 to 2020 which is processed using the monte carlo method. The APBU proposal budget prediction will be carried out every year. Based on the results of tests that have been carried out with the monte carlo method, it is found that the system used to predict the amount of APBU proposal budget approved in 2019 with an average accuracy of 84% and in 2020 with an average accuracy of 73%. Then with a fairly high level of accuracy, the application of the Monte Carlo method is considered to be able to predict the amount of the APBU proposal budget that is approved by each faculty each year.

Abstract

Puskesmas BLUD (Badan Layanan Umum Daerah) Payung Sekaki adalah salah satu PUSKESMAS (Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat) yang ada di Kota Pekanbaru. Dalam meningkatkan mutu pelayanan kesehatan di Puskesmas Payung Sekaki, ada kebutuhan untuk mengajukan pengaduan keluhan pelayanan yang telah mereka terima. Sistem informasi pengaduan di Puskesmas Payung Sekaki masih manual (belum terkomputerisasi) dalam menginput data pengaduan pasien. Dengan adanya sistem informasi pengaduan keluhan berbasis web ini dapat membantu pihak pasien melakukan pengaduan keluhan pelayanan kesehatan di Puskesmas Payung Sekaki kapan pun dan dimana pun. Perancangan sistem informasi pengaduan keluhan pelayanan kesehatan ini menggunakan UML (Unified Modeling Languange) meliputi use case diagram, class diagram, activity diagram, dan squence diagram. Metode yang digunakan dalam perancangan sistem informasi pengaduan ini adalah metode SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) dan analisis data dalam menarik kesimpulan pada data yang diperoleh dari lapangan menggunakan Metode PIECES (Perfomance, Information, Economy, Control, Eficiency, Dan Service). Hasil dari penelitian ini berupa sistem informasi berbasis web diharapkan dapat membantu pasien dalam menyampaikan pengaduan keluhan pelayanan kesehatan yang sudah diterima dan memberikan kemudahan bagi Puskesmas dalam mengelola data pengaduan pasien.

Abstract

Aplikasi canva merupakan aplikasi yang dapat digunakan dalam pembuatan desain spanduk. Dengan pemanfaatan dan pengembangkan teknik dalam pembuatan desain spanduk. Dalam hal ini, pemanfaatan media yang menarik dan tepat guna dalam proses pembuatan spanduk pelatihan akan memiliki dampak positif yang akan sangat berpotensi meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam membuat spanduk dengan aplikasi canva. Oleh sebab itu, tim pengusul program Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat menawarkan solusi berupa pelatihan pembuatan sepanduk dengan aplikasi canva untuk siswa SMK N 1 Tapung. Di mana program ini diharapkan mampu menjadi wadah dan inspirasi bagi para siswa dapat menambah pengetahuan dalam membuat spanduk dengan aplikasi canva besar harapan siswa dan siswa SMK N 1 Tapung dapat mengikuti proses pelatihan pembuatan spanduk dengan aplikasi canva dan siswa dan siswa SMK N 1 Tapung lebih mampu menghasilkan karya yang dapat merangsang daya tarik dalam pembuatan spanduk dengan menarik dan unik. Pada kegiatan pengabdian ini diikuti sebanyak 29 siswa dan siswi. Teknik pelatihan dilakukan secara praktek lansung dengan menggunakan perangkat laptop pada labor komputer di SMK N 1 Tapung. Sebagai pemateri memberikan sosialisasi dan sekaligus pendampingan mengenai bagaimana pembuatan sepanduk dengan aplikasi canva yang menarik dan pastinya sagat dapat bermanfaat. Setelah dilakukan pelatihan maka dapat dilihat peningkatan pengetahuan siswa siswi dalam desain grafis khususnya membuat spanduk yang awalnya dengan persentase 60% dan sesudah paletihan menjadi 90%.

Abstract

Information System for New Student Registration or now called Web-based New Student Admissions (PMB) at Lancang Kuning University, Pekanbaru. Due to the rapid advancement of technology, everything from everyday life to education, which requires timely and accurate information, has benefited. Processing new student registration information online aims to produce effective and efficient performance, get information more easily and don't have to waste a lot of money that has to be spent. It is hoped that this online service will make it easier for the general public to obtain information. This system can be more effective in spending costs, time, and energy, so it is effective in achieving goals.

Abstract

Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) often struggle to maintain focus, leading to low participation and poor academic outcomes. While gadgets are frequently viewed as distractions, they also offer potential as interactive learning tools. This study investigates the relationship between gadget use and learning focus among children with ADHD in inclusive schools. A quantitative survey with a correlational design was employed. Two variables were measured: gadget use as a learning medium (X) and the learning focus of children with ADHD (Y). Data were collected from 50 respondents, including classroom teachers, special assistant teachers (GPK), and therapists experienced in supporting children with ADHD using gadgets. A Likert-scale questionnaire was tested for validity and reliability, and data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and regression analysis. Findings showed that gadget use among respondents was relatively high (mean = 39.94). However, correlation analysis indicated no significant relationship between gadget use and learning focus (r = –0.12, p 0.05). Regression analysis suggested that increased gadget use did not predict improvements in attention, and in some cases showed a negative trend. These results highlight that high gadget usage alone does not enhance learning focus in children with ADHD. The effectiveness of gadgets depends on structured pedagogical frameworks, appropriate application design, and alignment with learners’ characteristics. Gadgets can support ADHD learning only when integrated with tailored instructional strategies. Future research should explore specific app features and teaching models to optimize their educational benefits.

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of integrating Project-Based Learning (PBL) with a STEAM approach to enhance students’ conceptual understanding and diagnostic skills in continuous variable transmission (CVT) systems within vocational education. A quasi-experimental design was employed involving 34 Grade XII students from the Motorcycle Engineering program at SMK Negeri 4 Rambah, Indonesia. Participants were divided into an experimental group receiving PBL-STEAM instruction and a control group receiving traditional teaching. Data were collected through posttests and analyzed using N-gain, independent samples t-tests, and effect size (Cohen’s d). The experimental group achieved a higher mean posttest score in conceptual understanding (84.24) compared to the control group (74.00). The N-gain for the experimental group was 0.68 (high), while the control group showed 0.28 (low). Diagnostic skills also improved significantly, with mean scores of 90.00 (experimental) and 76.00 (control). Statistical analysis revealed significant differences between groups (p 0.05). Effect sizes were large (d = 1.77 for conceptual understanding; d = 2.68 for diagnostic skills). The findings indicate that the PBL-STEAM approach substantially improves both conceptual mastery and diagnostic skills. This model aligns well with vocational education objectives and supports the development of competencies relevant to industry demands.

Abstract

This study investigates the application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in predictive maintenance learning within Motorcycle Engineering courses at SMK Negeri 1 Kandis and its impact on improving student competence in the context of Industry 4.0. A quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was employed involving 64 students across Grades X, XI, and XII. Students participated in learning activities using IoT-based trainer media integrated with vehicle technical sensors. Data were collected through pretests, posttests, observations, and questionnaires, and analyzed using N-gain, paired t-tests, and effect size (Cohen’s d). Substantial improvements were observed across all grade levels. In Grade X, the mean score increased from 66 (pretest) to 95 (posttest) with Cohen’s d 3.7. In Grade XI, scores improved from 65 to 95 (d 27.7), and in Grade XII from 67 to 97 (d 37.6). The overall N-gain of 0.90 indicated a high level of improvement. Paired t-tests revealed statistically significant differences between pretest and posttest scores (p 0.05), demonstrating enhanced conceptual understanding, analytical skills, and readiness to meet automotive industry challenges. The findings confirm that integrating IoT technology into vocational learning effectively enhances student competence and aligns with Industry 4.0 demands. However, the absence of a control group and the short intervention duration limit generalizability. Future research should employ longitudinal designs and larger samples to validate these results and strengthen curricular integration strategies.

Abstract

Instructional models in vocational schools (SMKs) play a critical role in aligning students’ competencies with workplace demands. However, at SMK Negeri 2 Kepenuhan, student motivation and learning outcomes in the Vocational Fundamentals subject remained relatively low due to teacher-centered, traditional approaches. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning model in improving motivation and learning outcomes among Grade X students in the Computer Network and Telecommunication Engineering program. A quantitative quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group was employed. Two experimental classes were involved: one received group-based tasks, while the other completed individual tasks, both using the Discovery Learning model. Data were collected באמצעות motivation questionnaires, pretests, posttests, and observation sheets, and analyzed using N-gain and t-tests. The findings indicate significant improvements in both motivation and learning outcomes. The grouped class showed an increase in mean scores from 67 to 95 (N-gain = 0.90), while the individual class improved from 68 to 91 (N-gain = 0.70). Statistical analysis revealed significant differences (p 0.05). Observational data also demonstrated increased student engagement and active participation during learning activities. The results suggest that the Discovery Learning model effectively enhances student motivation and academic performance in vocational education. Its implementation fosters active learning and improves instructional quality, making it a viable innovative approach for vocational teaching contexts.
