One of the basic requirements for succesfull transplantation is an adequate size of recipient site with sufficientalveolar support. If the transplantation is performed into a fresh extraction site, the recipient site can easily beadjusted to the transplantation. However, the situation is different in patient with premolar aplasia or early molarloss with marked atrophy of the alveolar process, need additional surgical procedures like bone autograft orsplitting osteotomy of the alveolar process. This paper discussed the effect of bone autograft and splitting osteotomyon root development of transplanted immature third molars. The conclusion is these additional surgical prosedureshad a negative effect on the pulpal and periodontal condition of transplantated immature third molars. This may berelated to revascularization disturbances of pulp due to nutrient insufficiency of the recipient site.

Osteomyelitis is an infection of the jaw that extends to the jaw bone, which is the spongy, bone marrow, cortex, andperiosteum. Infection occurs in the calcified bone when fluid in the medullary cavity or under the periosteum interferewith the blood supply. In this case, it was reported an elderly patient with a diagnosis of chronic osteomyelitis ofmandible edentulous dextra. The treatment were sequesterectomy and extraction the radix of tooth 43 by generalanesthesia, and combinating with antibiotics. It was concluded that patient of chronic suppurative osteomyelitis of themandible edentulus could be diagnosed through clinical and radiological examination, and successfully treated withsequesterectomy and extracting the radix under general anesthesia. So the improvement of systemic condition, foodnutrition, vitamin therapy, accelerate the healing process. Treatment of focal infection as soon as possible to avoidmore severe complications.

This study aimed to explore the correlation of blood quality with transforming growth factor (TGF-ÃŸ1) of platelet richplasma (PRP) which was used for bone and periodontal tissue regeneration. Thirty nine subjects participated in thisstudy. Data of age, gender, eritrocyt, leucocyt, hemoglobin, thrombocyt, and TGF-ÃŸ1 concentration were used toanalyze the correlation using Spearman correlation test. This study found leucocyt, eritrocyt, hemoglobin, thrombocytconcentration mean was 8.19 g/dl, 5.31 g/dl, 14.48 g/dl, 326.32 g/dl, respectively. The TGF-ÃŸ1 concentration meanacquired from PRP was 31994.27 pg/ml. Based on Spearman correlation test, significant correlation was onlyobserved in eritrocyt concentration variable with p value 0.023 (p<0.05) and it was higher in male than in female. It was concluded that TGF-ÃŸ1 concentration in PRP from normal subject was 31994.27 pg/ml. Based on leucocyt,eritrocyt, hemoglobin, and thrombocyt test to TGF-ÃŸ1, only eritrocyt showed the significant relationship. This findingalso showed the linear correlation between the amoung of eritrocyt in blood with TGF-ÃŸ1 as the increased eritrocytvalue was followed by the excalated TGF-ÃŸ1 value.

Kista didefinisikan sebagai rongga patologis yang berbatas/dilapisi sel epitel dan mengandung fluid atau semifluid. kista odontogenik adalah rongga yang berisi cairan patologis yang dilapisi oleh epitel odontogenik. Kista odontogenik yang paling sering terjadi adalah kista radikuler dan kista dentigerous. Kista radikuler adalah suatu jenis kista odontogenik dimana inflamasinya berasal atau didahului dengan adanya granuloma periapikal kronis dan ditemukan sel malassez di membran periodontal. Kista dentigerous adalah kista yang membungkus mahkota gigi yang tidak erupsi dan melekat ke servikal gigi. seorang pasien datang dengan diagnosis kista dentigerous berdasarkan hasil pemeriksaan radiografi. Dilakukan perawatan enukleasi pada kista tersebut. Prognosis perawatan adalah baik. Keberhasilan perawatan bergantung pada tingkat ketelitian operator dalam mendeteksi dan menangani kista radikuler dan kista dentigerous.

Tujuan: Untuk membandingkan penyembuhan luka setelah gingivektomi menggunakan low level therapy dan teknik scalpel. Metode: Dua mesin pencarian jurnal digunakan pada penelitian ini, yaitu Pubmed dan Wiley untuk mengindentifikasi artikel yang telah dipublikasi pada jurnal kedokteran gigi, yang berfokus pada penyembuhan luka setelah low level therapy dan teknik scalpel. Artikel full-text dan review yang berhubungan dilakukan secara manual. Sebanyak 91 artikel ditemukan, tetapi hanya dua penelitian yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi. Hasil: Pencarian awal menghasilkan 91 artikel. Hanya full-text dipilih dalam penelitian ini. Terdapat dua penelitian yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi, dengan 60 pasien sebagi sampel. Semua penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan penyembuhan luka berdasarkan epitelisasi setelah hari ketiga dan ketujuh gingivektomi setelah menggunakan low level laser therapy. Perbedaan antara kelompok kontrol dan uji menunjukkan bahwa low level laser therapy memberikan hasil terbaik. Simpulan: Perawatan menggunakan low level therapy menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan teknik scalpel.

Kesulitan selalu ditemui oleh para dokter gigi terhadap kondisi adanya penonjolan tulang di area palatum saat merencanakan pembuatan gigi tiruan baik itu gigi tiruan lengkap maupun sebagian. Penonjolan tulang ini dikenal sebagai torus palatinus. Torus palatinus telah lama menjadi perdebatan. Argumen yang ada masih berfokus mengenai etiologinya, yaitu akibat faktor genetik atau lingkungan seperti tekanan mastikasi. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk menginformasikan mengenai torus palatinus dan tindakan perawatan torektomi palatinus sebagai tindakan bedah preprostetik.

Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk membandingkan dimensi tulang dan pembentukan tulang baru setelah mempertahankan soket dengan menggunakan bahan substitusi tulang yang berbeda. Metode: Penelitian sistematis ini dilakukan dengan meninjau lima tahun terakhir artikel gigi yang diterbitkan dari Pubmed dan Wiley Online yang fokus dalam upaya mempertahankan soket setelah pencabutan gigi. Artikel-artikel dicari secara manual. Ada 49 studi yang ditemukan, tetapi hanya 4 studi yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi. Hasil: Dari 172 pasien sebagai subjek di antara studi yang dipilih menunjukkan beberapa perubahan dalam dimensi lingir tidak signifikan setelah penggunaan bahan substitusi tulang. Sementara itu, pembentukan tulang vital baru yang sangat berbeda menunjukkan di antara studi. Simpulan: tidak ada perbedaan perubahan dimensi lingir antara bahan substitusi tulang dalam studi, tetapi ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara pembentukan tulang vital baru.

Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui penanganan kasus excessive gingival dysplasia disertai hiperfungsi otot bibir pada pasien dengan teknik lip repositioning. Metode: Pencarian sistematis di Pubmed dan Wiley online library dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi semua artikel dalam jurnal berbahasa Inggris dengan tahun terbit hingga 2018. Literatur yang dipilih membahas tentang kasus excessive gingival dysplasia pada pasien dengan teknilk lip repositioning. Pencarian artikel dengan teks lengkap dilakukan secara manual, dari 29 artikel yang ditemukan, hanya 4 artikel yang dimasukkan dalam penelitian ini. Artikel terpilih di-review sesuai dengan pertanyaan PICO.Hasil: Dari 4 laporan kasus yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi, menjelaskan bahwa pasien dengan kasus excessive gingival dysplasia disertai hiperfungsi otot bibir dapat dilakukan penanganan bedah teknik lip repositioning.Simpulan: Pengurangan excessive gingival dysplasia pada pasien setelah operasi lip repositioning memberikan kepuasan tersendiri pada pasien. Teknik dianggap sangat sederhana dan mudah dilakukan dengan kestabilan hasil yang terlihat setelah kontrol 6-12 bulan 1 tahun pascaoperasi.

This community service activity is carried out to increase understanding of dental and oral health in the community, carried out in the Fisheries Kampung Galangan Kapal Region, Tallo District, Makassar. The problem in this area is the lack of understanding of oral health so that people are less concerned about oral hygiene, the lack of public knowledge about the availability of dental and oral health service facilities has an impact on the lack of community visits. The solution taken is to provide education about oral health in daily life, using poster media, demonstrations and the distribution of pocket books. The expected output target is to increase dental health knowledge which will be followed by an increase in dental and oral health knowledge in the community. The method used is to provide counseling, direct demonstration, examination and prevention of dental and oral diseases. Activities undertaken are counseling to the mother, examination and care for the mother, as well as preventive measures on the child and ending with a final evaluation.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of orthodontic movement on gingival recession of mandibular incisor. Method: Pubmed and Wileyonline searches were conducted to identify articles published in dental journals until November 2018 focusing on relationship betweengingival recession of mandibular incisors after orthodontic treatment. Manual searches of published full-text articles and related reviews were performed afterwards. Result: All articles were 103 selected for full-text review. A total 4 studies were selected for inclusion, with 462 subjects. All of the studies showed the mean increase in clinical crown height of the lower incisors was not statistically significant.Conclusion: It was concluded that orthodontic treatment did not affect the developmental of gingival recession on mandibular incisors.
