Abstract

General Chemistry is one of the compulsory subjects offered in the first year joint lectures at the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education Department, FKIP Universitas Palangka Raya. The Covid-19 pandemic that has hit countries globally has had its own impacts and challenges for educational institutions, especially universities. Basic chemistry online lectures have combined various platforms such as google classroom, Edmodo, whatsapp groups, and online meetings such as google meet and zoom. However, this platform has some constraints, especially signal constraints, data packets, and management of shared data. Therefore, interactive learning media was developed, which can integrate text, images, audio, video and graphics, namely Android. This study aims to develop android-based general chemistry learning media on organic compound material and describe the feasibility of basic chemistry learning media. The development model used is the DDD-E model. The results of the development showed that the product resulting from the development process is an android-based learning media application in the form of an interactive e-book consisting of lesson plans, concept maps, instructions, materials, laboratory experiments, evaluation and team. Android-based learning media in the form of e-modules is suitable for use in learning Basic Chemistry. The results of the material expert's assessment obtained an average value of 82.14% (Good). The results of the media expert's assessment obtained an average value of 87.5% (Good).

Abstract

Kimia dasar merupakan ilmu kimia yang berperan penting dalam mempelajari materi kimia lanjut dan sebagai dasar perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan di masyarakat. Hasil belajar mahasiswa pada salah satu universitas di Palangka Raya menunjukkan bahwa masih terdapat mahasiswa yang tidak lulus mata kuliah Kimia Dasar. Salah satu penyebab rendahnya hasil belajar karena buku ajar yang digunakan masih bersifat informatif. Tahap penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model 4-D Thiagarajan yang terdiri dari define, design, development, dan disseminate. Tahap disseminate pada penelitian ini tidak dilakukan karena disesuaikan dengan tujuan penelitian. Validasi produk dilakukan oleh 3 orang ahli dan diuji keterbacaannya pada mahasiswa. Hasil pengembangan berupa Bahan Ajar untuk Mahasiswa dan Buku Petunjuk Dosen. Persentase kelayakan yang diberikan oleh validator untuk Bahan Ajar Mahasiswa sebesar 91,2% dan Buku Petunjuk Dosen yaitu 92,4%, sedangkan persentase kelayakan berdasarkan uji keterbacaan mahasiswa sebesar 81,3%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk pengembangan yaitu Bahan Ajar Unsur Nitrogen dan Fosfor berbasis Kontekstual untuk Mata Kuliah Kimia Dasar dikategorikan layak.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran kimia dasar berbasis web pada pokok bahasan termokimia. Penelitian ini telah dilakukan menggunakan model penelitian dan pengembangan yang meliputi tahap perencanaan (planning), desain (design), dan pengembangan (development). Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan menggunakan teknik angket menggunakan kuesioner ahli media, ahli materi dan pengguna, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan ini menunjukkan bahwa penilaian ahli materi diperoleh rerata skor 5 (sangat baik) untuk semua aspek. Penilaian ahli media diperoleh rerata skor 5 (sangat baik) untuk semua aspek. Rerata skor hasil tes mahasiswa kelompok atas 3,9, kelompok sedang 3,6, kelompok bawah 3,2, sehingga diperoleh rerata skor 3,57 (A-) atau sangat baik. Penelitian dan pengembangan ini telah menghasilkan produk media pembelajaran kimia dasar pokok bahasan termokimia yang layak digunakan oleh mahasiswa kelompok atas, kelompok sedang dan kelompok bawah.

Abstract

The purpose of implementing the Workshop on the Use of the MolView Application in Chemistry Education at SMA Negeri 5 Palangka Raya is to enable partner teachers (chemistry subject teachers) to facilitate students in visualizing molecular structures using the MolView application. The benefits of this activity include increasing insights and providing skills in developing teaching modules assisted by the MolView application in chemistry education. The stages of the workshop include 1) preparation stages, including field surveys, planning, administrative preparation, and providing support facilities; 2) training stages, including confirming attendance, Phase I training, Phase II training; 3) mentoring stages, including evaluation and participant support. The results of this activity can be reviewed based on participant satisfaction. This is evident from the questionnaire results filled out by the participants. In the workshop material aspect, the average score is 93.33%. The Team workshop aspect has an average score of 96.00%, the atmosphere aspect has an average score of 96.00%, and the media usage aspect has an average score of 93.78%. Furthermore, the overall satisfaction level of the workshop averages 94.78% with a "Very Satisfied" category. Therefore, it can be concluded that this training is highly significant and beneficial, and it is expected to continue for the benefit of other teachers in the future.

Abstract

Science learning is closely related to practical activities. However, in certain conditions, practical activities cannot be optimally implemented due to limited tools and materials. PhET Interactive Simulation is a virtual laboratory application that can be utilized in science learning. The objectives of the Workshop on Using PhET Interactive Simulation at SMA Negeri 2 Kahayan Tengah are: 1) to improve teachers' understanding of technology-based learning through PhET Interactive Simulations; 2) to enhance teachers' skills in integrating PhET simulation-based technology into teaching modules; 3) to foster students' interest and motivation in science through learning experiences using PhET simulations. The stages of the workshop include: 1) Preparation Stage: Field surveys, planning, administrative setup, and preparation of supporting facilities; 2) Training Stage: Confirming attendance, conducting Phase I and Phase II training sessions. The outcomes of the workshop can be assessed from participants' satisfaction levels. The satisfaction rate among teachers was 99.5%, categorized as Very Satisfied. Additionally, the quality of teacher-created teaching modules was quite good, indicating that teachers improved their knowledge and skills in developing PhET-integrated teaching modules. Meanwhile, the student satisfaction level reached 87.88%, also classified as Very Satisfied, suggesting a significant increase in student interest and motivation in learning with PhET. In conclusion, this workshop proved to be highly important and beneficial, and it is hoped that similar programs will continue to benefit other teachers in the future.
