Abstract

This research discusses the role of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in fulfilling the right to formal education for refugee children in the DKI Jakarta province. This research is qualitative-descriptive research with primary data sources are interviews and field observations and secondary data are from books, journals and mass media. In answering research questions, researcher use the concept of the role of NGOs. NGOs have roles as implementers, catalysts and partners. The results of this research explain that Dompet Dhuafa as NGO in DKI Jakarta, has a role as a partner of the sub-national government of DKI Jakarta and also UNHCR. Dompet Dhuafa through the School for Refugees (SfR) provides preparatory education before refugee children enter formal school by providing Indonesian language education as well as literacy and arithmetic. This preparatory class helps refugee children understand the teacher's explanations during the classroom learning process. Keyword : NGO, formal education, refugee children ABSTRAKPenilitian ini membahas tentang peran Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dalam pemenuhan hak untuk mendapatkan pendidikan formal bagi anak pengungsi luar negeri di provinsi DKI Jakarta. Penilitian ini adalah penilitian kualitatif-deskriptif dengan sumber data primer yaitu wawancara dan observasi lapangan dan data skunder yaitu berasal dari buku, jurnal dan media massa. Dalam menjawab pertanyaan penelitian, peneliti menggunakan konsep peranan NGO. NGO mempunyai beberapa peranan yaitu sebagai implementor, catalyst, dan patner. Adapun hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa NGO di DKI Jakarta yaitu Dompet Dhuafa memiliki peran sebagai patner atau mitra dari pemerintah sub-nasional yaitu pemerintah provinsi DKI Jakarta dan juga Lembaga PBB untuk pengungsi yaitu UNHCR. Dompet Dhuafa melalui School for Refugee menyediakan Pendidikan persiapan sebelum anak pengungsi masuk sekolah formal yaitu Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia dan juga baca tulis dan berhitung. Kelas persiapan ini sangat membantu anak-anak pengungsi memahami keterangan guru ketika proses pembelajaran diskelas.

Abstract

The hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar drew global attention, not only for the matches but also for the social and cultural policies implemented by the host nation. One of the most controversial policies was the ban on the use of rainbow armbands symbolizing support for the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, & Queer) community. This study analyzes the policy of banning the use of rainbow (OneLove) or LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, & Queer) armbands during the 2022 World Cup by Qatar using John Spanier's theory of national interest with a qualitative descriptive research method. The analysis of the policy issued by Qatar is part of an effort to achieve its national interests. Qatar's national interests in this regard include the pursuit of national security, national prestige, and the protection and promotion of ideology. Although this policy is based on efforts to achieve national interests, particularly preserving the traditional values of the host nation, its implementation has sparked various global debates regarding the rights to freedom of expression and inclusivity in sports. Abstract

This paper discusses Indonesia's maritime vision through Global Maritime Fulcrum during the administration of President Joko Widodo 2014-2019 and its contribution in maintaining ASEAN maritime security stability. Southeast Asia is a strategic region since the era of the second world war, the cold war and even today it is still a place of competition between the great powers of the world the United States and China. The competition between the United States and China at the global level has the potential to disrupt regional unity and make ASEAN fail to play its central role. The challenge provide an insight into the importance of Indonesia's role as the largest and most strategic country in Southeast Asia in maintaining the stability of regional maritime security. Indonesia's policy in the field of defense security will have an impact on ASEAN. The method used is a qualitative descriptive approach using secondary data such as review of academic articles, books, Journals, reports, and other relevant literature with two research questions First, what is the concept of Indonesia's maritime security in the Global Maritime Fulcrum policy? And Second, how does Global Maritime Fulcrum Policy contribute to maintaining the stability of ASEAN's maritime security?
