Abstract

The most important aspect in achieving linguistic goals is motivation. The purpose of the research is to learn about the students' motivation for accomplishing their English class goals. Purposive sampling was used throughout the study, which lasted from 2019 to 2021. Thirty students were interviewed carefully and semi-structured for data. The following three questions were posed to all participants: “How confident are the students in achieving good learning outcomes?”, “What motivates them to achieve these outcomes?”, and “What tactics are used to achieve expected results?” The data was analyzed using the traditional content analysis method. Positive and negative attitudes, intrinsic and extrinsic impulses, and principled eclecticism tactics all lead to good or bad learning results, according to the study. Lecturers should foster students' positive attitudes toward learning, increase their integrative and instrumental drives, and encourage students to use a variety of learning methodologies in order to obtain great academic results.

Abstract

In the ever-evolving realm of digital marketing, this study delves into how micro-influencer credibility—conceptualized through the dimensions of expertise, trustworthiness, and attractiveness—shapes consumer purchase intent on social media platforms. Grounded in Source Credibility Theory, the research employs a quantitative design, gathering responses from 270 social media users via a structured online survey. Employing Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS), the analysis uncovers that while trustworthiness and attractiveness significantly sway consumer behavior, expertise surprisingly falls short of exerting measurable impact. This departure from prior emphasis on knowledge-based persuasion suggests a shifting consumer landscape—where authenticity and visual appeal resonate more than authority. Even more striking is the discovery that variations in age, gender, and social media habits do not meaningfully moderate these relationships. This uniformity underscores a broad psychological consistency in how consumers evaluate influencers. Marketers and practitioners, therefore, are encouraged to recalibrate their strategies, prioritizing emotional resonance and personal branding over technical qualifications.

Abstract

Traditional healers in Solo and Wonosobo face increasing challenges in engaging young people, despite the widespread use of digital platforms by this demographic. This study explores the adoption of digital marketing strategies by traditional healers to enhance their outreach to youth. Employing a qualitative approach, semi-structured interviews were conducted with healers in both regions to examine their current practices and perceptions regarding digital engagement. The findings reveal that while a few healers, such as Ibu Ani, have effectively utilized platforms like TikTok and Instagram, most still rely heavily on word-of-mouth promotion. Limited use of digital media stems from a lack of technological skills and insufficient content tailored to youth preferences. The study is guided by Uses and Gratifications Theory to understand how young people seek and interact with online health content. The results suggest that to improve engagement, traditional healers should adopt more interactive and youth-oriented digital strategies, including collaboration with influencers and the use of culturally resonant content. These findings offer practical insights for revitalizing traditional medicine in the digital age.

Abstract

This study revisits the privacy paradox in data-driven marketing by examining whether privacy concerns constrain the effectiveness of behavioural analytics and whether transparency plays a more influential role in shaping consumer purchase decisions. Drawing on the Theory of Planned Behaviour, Privacy Calculus Theory, and research on algorithm aversion, behavioural analytics is conceptualized as a digital choice architecture that influences consumer decision-making. Survey data from 228 digitally active consumers were analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that behavioural analytics positively influences purchase decisions, while privacy concerns do not significantly moderate this relationship, supporting the persistence of the privacy paradox. In contrast, transparency significantly strengthens the effect of behavioural analytics by enhancing consumer trust and perceived procedural fairness. These findings suggest that transparency, rather than privacy concern, is the key mechanism supporting effective personalization. From a managerial perspective, organizations should complement behavioural analytics with transparent data governance, explainable algorithmic practices, and clear communication regarding data use to strengthen consumer trust. This study advances digital marketing research by reframing the privacy paradox as a question of legitimacy and trust in responsible data-driven marketing.

Abstract

Catholic dioceses across the globe generally face a core governance contradiction: balancing administrative accountability and empathetic pastoral care. Sacrament management is not only a core pillar that maintains the Church’s organizational order, but also shapes believers’ perceptions of the Church’s pastoral mission. This study takes a Catholic diocese in Indonesia as its research subject, adopts an interpretivist qualitative case study method, and recruits interviewees covering clergy, catechists, parish council members, parents, and active parishioners. It collects data through a combination of semi-structured interviews and documentary analysis, to explore the diocese’s stakeholders’ perceptions of pastoral decisions related to sacrament management, as well as the organizational factors that can strengthen community trust. The study finds that stakeholders’ acceptance of pastoral decisions relies far more on five types of relational practices—including compassionate communication, participatory discernment, contextual administrative flexibility, relational accompaniment, and restorative community dialogue—than on administrative outcomes. These practices can foster institutional trust, and turn administrative processes into opportunities for organizational learning. This study originally proposes a people-centered pastoral governance framework with five core dimensions, restructures the governance attributes of sacrament management, and provides a transferable framework for cultivating leadership and community trust for all types of faith-based organizations.
