Abstract

Achievement motivation evolved fast in the educational field. In this development, the trichotomous and the 2X2 models received myriad attention from the educational specialist. However, there is a debate about which is better between the two models. This study aimed to intercede this debate and argue that the study's duration should be accounted for in the validation. Approach goals should dominate new students' achievement goals, and old students' achievement goals will show the balance of approach and avoidance goals. For these reasons, this study gathers the data from 350 new students and 203 old students. Confirmatory factor analysis reveals that the trichotomous is the best model for new student segments. While for the old student segment, the 2X2 model shows its efficacy. Therefore, for the new students' segment, achievement goals consist of mastery-approach, performance-approach, and performance-avoidance goals. For the old students, besides those three-goal orientations, mastery-avoidance goals are also included. As expected, the independent sample t-test shows that new students have higher mastery-approach and performance-approach goals than old students have. Self-efficacy is more influential in the new than old student segments, as shown by simple linear regression. This study is still stuck to a single cross-sectional design. Further research can utilize longitudinal research with segmental-based analysis and pay attention to gender, major, social class, or other potential moderation variables.

Abstract

The effort of providing protection for all Indonesian migrant workers abroad is focused on two categories. Firstly, the phase of pre-departure of Indonesian migrant workers in which an approach of cross sectors is carried out by both the Indonesian government and the private agencies in order to prepare them with all the things needed when they arrive at countries of their destination. Secondly is the phase of arrival and post-arrival of Indonesian migrant workers abroad. As in Malaysia, the policy on the arragenment of labor affairs either for Malaysian workers or for foreign workers is officially and legally protected in Labor Act of 1955, Industrial Relation Act of 1967, Trade Union Act of 1959, and in Compensation Act of 1952. The process of labor trials is settled through The Labor Court. This Labor Court no more handles the process of trial of illegally foreign workers. There are needs of establishing Labor Cooperation Agreement (LCA) on the ministerail level, Implementaion Agreement serving as the general policy on the executors level as well as Standardized Labor Contract which has been amended. The establishments of Labor Cooperation Agreement, Implementing Agreement and Standardized Labor Contract should occur before all workers leave Indonesia and are aimed at providing legal protection for every single Indonesian migrant worker. In order that there is no collision between the Malaysian laws and Indonesian laws, the government officials of related issues of both countries must do observations and conduct discussions without neglecting the prevail laws of each country. Any issue of labor affairs should always be referred to the laws of both countries.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out whether the value relevance of the fair value of assets and liabilities at levels 1 and 2 is higher than at level 3 and to find out whether institutional ownership increases the value relevance of the fair value of assets at level 1, level 2 and level 3. This research was conducted in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2018-2020 period, which was determined using the purposive sampling method so that 90 company sample data were selected. Using the panel data linear regression method, the results show that the fair value of level 3 assets is more relevant than levels 1 and 2, while the fair value of liabilities at levels 1 and 2 produces a higher relevance than level 3. This research shows that it is not proven that level 1 and 2 fair value information is more relevant than level 3 for investor decision making. In subsequent tests, institutional ownership is not proven to increase the relevance of the fair value of level 1, level 2 and level 3 assets.

Purposive sampling was used throughout the study, which lasted from 2019 to 2021. Thirty students were interviewed carefully and semi-structured for data. The following three questions were posed to all participants: “How confident are the students in achieving good learning outcomes?”, “What motivates them to achieve these outcomes?”, and “What tactics are used to achieve expected results?” The data was analyzed using the traditional content analysis method. Positive and negative attitudes, intrinsic and extrinsic impulses, and principled eclecticism tactics all lead to good or bad learning results, according to the study. Lecturers should foster students' positive attitudes toward learning, increase their integrative and instrumental drives, and encourage students to use a variety of learning methodologies in order to obtain great academic results.

Abstract

Community Service Activities (PkM) were carried out by the IBIKKG PkM Team in the context of the Jakarta Hindu Dharma Women's Independence Celebration (WHDI) on August 5, 2024, which was held in the form of seminars and ongoing mentoring. This continuous PkM activity aims to increase the awareness and understanding of WHDI members regarding the importance of the role of marriage in the family and community.
