Abstract

The performance of human resources (HR) in a company is one of the determinants of the company's condition in the industry. This can be analyzed based on the dominant factors that support or become the foundation of the company. This study reviews the dominant internal and external factors in PT.BEP company. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with analysis using IPA, Pareto Chart, IFAS-EFAS Matrix, and SWOT. The results showed that internal factors were dominated by ability factors with a processing value of 13.49%, while external factors were dominated by reward factors with a percentage of 16.42%. The results of the SWOT analysis recommend that the strategy that should be implemented is Strength-Opportunity (SO) with IFAS EFAS results in quadrant I with coordinates 1.67;2.34. then PT. BEP is in an advantageous situation because it has good strengths and opportunities and can be optimized by minimizing all weaknesses and threats.

Abstract

Building projects often generate significant amounts of waste. This happens because the building projects mostly adopts a linear economic model of “take, make, dispose of”, using materials to the construction of buildings and disposing them at the end of life. This linear economic model only focuses on human activities because the disposal of materials ultimately does not become a sustainable practice in the future. For this reason, an alternative is needed in reducing and processing the construction waste by implementing circular economy principles. This study aims to identify type of construction waste in building project, provide recommendations for handling it with circular economy principles, and calculating the cost savings. The method that used in this study are field observation and interview for collecting data. The result showed that steel reinforcement, ready-mix concrete, light brick, ceramic, multiplex, spun pile, and anchor can be handled with circular economy principles are reduce, reuse, recycle, recovery, and repair. The cost savings from handled it in project A, B, and C are Rp. 68.252.490,65, Rp. 84.182.684,96, and Rp. 31.794.238,51, respectively.

Abstract

A lot of energy consumed by large hotel buildings can affect the environment degradation in a long period of time. Every building plan, including hotels must consider an integrated balance in utilizing existing and limited resources based on low CO2 emissions. Excessive use of energy has a negative impact which increasing the amount of CO2 emissions. This research aims to determine the effect of energy efficiency to provide recommendations, which require significant reduction of energy and environmental degradation by minimizing energy use and CO2 emission. The method that used in this research are modelling, and simulate the energy use intensity and carbon emission using Sefaira as a Sketchup Software plug-in by simulating the existing design and provide a recommendation. The object that being used in this research is a hotel building that have 11 floor and 1 basement in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The result shows EUI of existing hotel building is 977 kWh/m2/year and carbon emission 1.872.042 kgCO2e/year. Comparing to the EUI standard which at the limit of 290–400 kWh/m2/yr. It is recommended to build additional window at the dismantled room area on north and south side of the hotel’s corridor. The recommended design, provides a reduction of EUI into 744,22 kWh/m2/year (31,28%). Meanwhile the carbon emission reduced into 1.467.072 kgCO2e/year (27,60%) from the existing design.

Abstract

Hospitals are social facilities that operate publicly for 24 hours/day. The energy consumption of hospital buildings is among the highest, compared to commercial and residential buildings. Energy efficiency can be achieved after implementing a process called energy auditing and planning. The purpose of this study is to determine the EUI (Energy Use Intensity) of electricity for energy and cost savings, without reducing the productivity and comfort of the occupants. The method used in this research is the calculation of the EUI of the entire equipment, comparison of calculating the existing EUI with the Standard, simulation of existing conditions, redesign, modeling and simulation analysis of redesign results, calculation of EUI after redesign and calculation of energy costs before and after redesign. The results of this study obtained the EUI value in the air-conditioned room on the 1st floor of 15.14 kWh/m2/month included in the category Sufficient efficient from previously Wasteful, 2nd floor of 7.53 kWh/m2/month included in the category Fully Efficient and 3rd floor of 7.97 kWh/m2/month included in the category Fully Efficient. As for the non-AC room, the 1st floor of 2.27 kWh/m2/month is included in the Fully Efficient category, the 2nd floor of 2.50 kWh/m2/month is included in the Fully Efficient category from the previous Efficient, and the 3rd floor of 2.50 kWh/m2/month is included in the Fully Efficient category from the previous Efficient. Meanwhile, the calculation of energy costs after design recommendations was obtained at IDR 976.219.477,27 decreased by 21.56%.
