Abstract

Karangploso Subdistrict is known as having abundant taro commodity products in Malang Regency. However, the average utilization of the taro plant is not optimal, even though there is a large enough land available and has high potential for the development of the caladium plant commodity. Related to the above, the purpose of this research is to find out (a) the application of agribusiness system in the development of taro commodity, (b) the trend level of land area, production and productivity of taro in Karangploso District, Malang Regency. This research was carried out in Karangploso District as the object of the survey which is the development area for the taro plant commodity in Malang Regency. The respondents used were 30 taro farmers in Karangploso sub-district who were selected randomly. Data Analysis includes Qualitative Descriptive Analysis, and Trend Analysis. The results showed that, (a) The application of the concept of agribusiness in general has not run optimally while aspects of human resources in supporting the agribusiness development of taro commodity are quite adequate, (b) The level of trend (Trend) of the development of harvested area and production of taro commodity shows that this commodity has good prospects. that is good for development, but the trend of its development is still relatively small compared to the level of need for taro in the region.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the production factors of leek farming, analyze the efficiency of leek farming in PORKAB. Respondents amounted to 30 people with saturated sampling technique. To determine the effect of the use of production factors on leek farming using Cobb-Douglas analysis, and to determine the level of efficiency in leek farming using three parts of production inputs technically, allocatively and economically. The results of this study indicate that the factors that affect production in leek farming, namely vegetable pesticides, have a significant effect, while land area, labor, seeds, and manure have no significant effect on leek production. Technically, the area of land, seeds, manure and vegetable pesticides in leek farming is not technically efficient while the workforce is technically inefficient. The total value of technical efficiency, which is 1.017, is greater than 1, meaning that the proportion of additional production factors will result in greater production. Allocatively, labor and manure have an allocative efficiency value greater than 1, meaning that leek farming is not allocatively efficient. In the area of land, seeds and vegetable pesticides are smaller than 1, meaning that leek farming is not allocatively efficient. While economically on land area, seeds and vegetable pesticides are not economically efficient, while labor and manure are not economically efficient. Keywords: Efficiency, Prey Onion,  Production.

Abstract

The urgency of studying strategic food demand in rural households serves as a basis for recommending the formulation of effective and sustainable strategic food policies. This study aims to examine the proportion of rural household expenditure on strategic food, identify the factors influencing rural household consumption of strategic food, and analyze income and price elasticity using the Marshallian approach. The research utilized 2023 Susenas data, which was then analyzed using the LA-AIDS model. The findings indicate that rice is the most preferred commodity among rural households and has a complementary relationship with other strategic commodities. Meanwhile, ruminant meat (beef, goat, and lamb) remains a luxury item for rural households. Government efforts are needed to encourage household consumption of alternative protein sources other than ruminant meat such as chicken, eggs and fish which are relatively affordable.
