Abstract

This article aims to describe Arabic language learning on the YouTube channel “Arab Podcasts” based on the perspective of perennialism philosophy. This research used qualitative approach and descriptive method. Primary data sources come from Arabic language learning videos on the “Arab Podcasts” YouTube channel, while the secondary data sources come from books, scientific articles, and documents that are related to the perennialism philosophy. The data collection technique is based on listening and note-taking method. The data analysis technique used consists of three stages including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The result of this study is the discovery of conformity between the concept of Arabic language learning on the YouTube channel “ Arab Podcasts ” with the learning principles of perennialism philosophy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the difference in Arabic word classification according to classical and modern Arabic linguists and how the concept of sentences in learning Arabic grammar. This study uses a qualitative approach by conducting library research. Based on the results of the discussion, the classification of words according to classical Arabic linguists is divided into three types, namely; isim, fi'il, and letters. Meanwhile, the classification of words according to modern Arabic linguists (see: tamam hasan) is divided into seven types, namely; isim, nature, fi'il, damīr, khalīfah, zarf and adāh. Then the concept of deep sentences in learning Arabic grammar is divided into two sentence patterns which are referred to as the Jumlah Ismiyyah and the Jumlah Fi'liyyah. The Jumlah Ismiyyah is a type of sentence whose structure begins with the word isim and usually consists of mubtada' and khabar even though in certain conditions the khabar comes first. While the Jumlah fi'liyyah is a sentence pattern whose structure consists of fi'il and fa'il or fi'il and na'ibul fa'il, while Al-mafaa'iil (Maf'ul bih, maf'ul fiih, maf'ul ma'ah, maf'ul muthlaq, maf'ul liajlih) and Al-afaa'iil (hal, tamyiz, and istitsna') come as a complement then Jar Majrur and Zaraf mazruf as information about time or place.

Abstract

The title of this research, "Arabic Linguistics in the Modern Era: Development, Challenges and Applications in the Context of Globalization" aims to explore the dynamics of the development of the Arabic language in the context of changing times that are increasingly interconnected globally. . Arabic as a language that has an important role in the world of religion, culture and politics faces various challenges in the modern era, including the impact of globalization, technological advances and global linguistic developments. This research explores how Arabic adapts to global communication needs, as well as its role in the world of academia, media, and professional sectors are evolving with modernization. Apart from that, this article also discusses the challenges faced by Arabic speakers, such as changes in language use, the phenomenon of linguistic diglossia, and the difficulty of maintaining the originality of the Arabic language amidst the dominance of foreign languages. This research is expected to provide insight into the importance of the Arabic language and its application in global society. currently, in addition to contributing to linguistic studies. Bahasa Arab sebagai bahasa yang mempunyai peranan penting dalam dunia agama, budaya dan politik menghadapi berbagai tantangan di era modern, antara lain dampak globalisasi, kemajuan teknologi dan perkembangan linguistik global.Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana bahasa Arab beradaptasi dengan kebutuhan komunikasi global, serta bagaimana perannya dalam dunia akademis, media, dan sektor profesional berkembang seiring modernisasi. Selain itu, artikel ini juga membahas tantangan yang dihadapi penutur bahasa Arab, seperti perubahan penggunaan bahasa, fenomena diglosia linguistik, dan sulitnya mempertahankan orisinalitas bahasa Arab di tengah dominasi bahasa asing.Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan mengenai pentingnya bahasa Arab dan penerapannya dalam masyarakat global saat ini, selain memberikan kontribusi terhadap kajian linguistik.

Abstract

This abstract examines the historical and cultural impact of Islam in Andalusia during the reign of the Umayyah Caliphate II, established by Abd Rahman bin Hisyam (Ad-Dakhil) in 756 CE. The Umayyah Caliphate II governed for approximately 275 years, fostering a civilization influenced by external cultures. The introduction of the Arabic language coincided with the arrival of Islam, but it became the official language of governance only after the establishment of the Umayyah Caliphate II. This official status facilitated social integration among the population, regardless of religious affiliation. Additionally, the contributions of scholars from the Mashreq region played a significant role in advancing knowledge and culture in Andalusia, particularly in the fields of language and literature. The period marks a significant intersection of Islamic heritage and cultural development in medieval Spain. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejarah peradaban Bangsa Arab dan Bahasa Arab pada masa Dinasti Umayyah II di Andalusia. Islam masuk ke Andalusia pada masa Khalifah Walid, dengan perkembangan signifikan terjadi setelah berdirinya Daulah Umayyah II yang didirikan oleh Abd Rahman bin Hisyam (Ad-Dakhil) pada tahun 756 M. Daulah Umayyah II berkuasa selama sekitar 275 tahun dan mengalami perkembangan peradaban yang dipengaruhi oleh kebudayaan luar. Bahasa Arab diperkenalkan di Andalusia sejak awal kedatangan Islam dan menjadi bahasa resmi pemerintahan setelah proklamasi Abd Rahman Ad-Dakhil. Dengan penetapan Bahasa Arab sebagai bahasa resmi, interaksi antara Muslim dan non-Muslim di Andalusia menjadi lebih mudah. Selain itu, peran ulama’ masyriq berkontribusi pada perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, terutama dalam bahasa dan kesusasteraan, yang menandai kemajuan peradaban di daerah tersebut.

Abstract

Language functions as a bridge between individuals, fostering ideas, emotions, and knowledge. It is an instrument for communication and a means to understand and express the traditions, knowledge, and wisdom of various generations. The study of language not only helps in understanding the structure and evolution of language but also helps bridge the gap between human societies and cultures. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with a historical methodology to analyze the contributions of influential linguists to the development of language. Data comes from primary sources and secondary literature, such as books and journals. This study aims to understand the evolution of linguistic theory and the contributions of influential figures in the development of modern language. This research focuses on the contributions of influential figures such as Panini, Confucius, and Aristotle to the study of language, highlighting the importance of studying language as a source of communication. This study also explores the relationship between language and culture, examining how language influences perception and interaction. This research also explores various perspectives and methodologies used in language studies, encouraging innovation and enhancing understanding. ABSTRAKBahasa berfungsi sebagai jembatan antara individu, mendorong ide, emosi, dan pengetahuan. Ini adalah instrumen untuk komunikasi dan sarana untuk memahami serta mengekspresikan tradisi, pengetahuan, dan kebijaksanaan dari berbagai generasi. Studi bahasa tidak hanya membantu dalam memahami struktur dan evolusi bahasa tetapi juga membantu menjembatani kesenjangan antara masyarakat dan budaya manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan metodologi historis untuk menganalisis kontribusi ahli bahasa berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan bahasa. Data berasal dari sumber primer dan literatur sekunder, seperti buku dan jurnal. Studi ini bertujuan untuk memahami evolusi teori linguistik dan kontribusi tokoh-tokoh berpengaruh dalam pengembangan bahasa modern. Penelitian ini berfokus pada kontribusi tokoh-tokoh berpengaruh seperti Panini, Konfusius, dan Aristoteles terhadap studi bahasa, menyoroti pentingnya mempelajari bahasa sebagai sumber komunikasi. Studi ini juga mengeksplorasi hubungan antara bahasa dan budaya, meneliti bagaimana bahasa mempengaruhi persepsi dan interaksi. Penelitian ini juga mengeksplorasi berbagai perspektif dan metodologi yang digunakan dalam studi bahasa, mendorong inovasi dan meningkatkan pemahaman.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the construction of communicative competence in the teaching and learning of Arabic within the social context of the Sekarbela society in Mataram. They are famous for their long tradition of studying Arabic linguistics, including morphology, syntax, and rhetoric. This applies not only to educational institutions but also to society as a whole. The researchers sought to investigate whether it is possible to benefit from such a social context to build communicative competence in the Arabic language, by applying functional theory, which imposes the existence of an appropriate context for the natural use of the Arabic language in various linguistic situations. Multiple experiments have shown that teaching Arabic to non-native speakers by focusing on the practical aspect of the Arabic language strengthens learners mental, psychological and social abilities in dealing with the Arabic language, as stated in many studies. This study adopted a qualitative research approach using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The research results showed that the effectiveness of Arabic language learning is greatly influenced by the integration of local social and cultural contexts into the teaching process. The use of a communicative approach and social context-based teaching methods contributed to improving students' ability to understand and use Arabic more naturally. Additionally, the study recommends developing a curriculum that aligns with students' social communication needs to make the learning process more effective and practical.

Abstract

Memahami bahasa tasawuf menjadi tantangan tersendiri dalam kajian dan penelitian keislaman. Menjadi tantangan karena sifat dasarnya yang simbolik, misterius dan personal. Diperlukan mekanisme kebahasaan tersendiri untuk memahami makna-makna yang dikandung oleh ungkapan-ungkapan sufistik. Namun dalam perkembangannya, dunia tasawuf mengandung dua aliran besar, yaitu tasawuf ‘amali yang dijelaskan oleh ilmu mu’amalah dan tasawuf falsafi yang dijelaskan oleh ilmu mukasyafah. Yang pertama direpresentasi oleh Imam al-Gazali dan yang kedua oleh Syekh Ibnu ‘Arabi.Pergerakan bahasa atau ungkapan sufistik di wilayah tasawuf ‘amali bersifat menyempit setelah mengalami pembakuan dan pelembagaan pada tarekat-tarekat setelah Imam al-Gazali, seperti Tarekat Qadiriyah, Rifa’iyah, Ahmadiyah, Syadziliyah dan lain-lain. Bahasa sufistik pun dalam konteks ini bersifat pengajaran untuk membimbing perjalanan para salik dalam menempuh maqamat dan menyikapi ahwal yang mereka alami di tarekat yang mereka ikuti. Komunikasi antar sesama pemeluk tarekat kemudian terejawantahkan dalam zikir, shalawat dan doa yang mereka amalkan.Penelitian ini memfokuskan diri untuk melihat Tarekat Qadiriyah wa Naqsyabandiyah (TQN) di Pondok Pesantren Darussalam Bermi Gerung Lombok Barat NTB; zikir, wirid dan doa yang diamalkan sebagai manifestasi ungkapan sufistik mereka, interaksi mereka ke dalam (sesama pemeluk Tarekat) dan keluar (dengan masyarakat) untuk melihat pemahaman dan pengamalan para salik terhadap ajaran Tarekat Qadiriyah wa Naqsyabandiyah. Lokasi peneliti dipilih karena pengaruh dan pengikutnya yang cukup banyak, tersebar di Lombok Barat, Kota Mataram dan Lombok Tengah.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ungkapan-ungkapan yang biasa beredar di kalangan para salikin pengamal TQN di lokasi penelitian adalah ayat-ayat al-Qur’an, hadits dan ungkapan-ungkapan para pendiri dan mursyid TQN yang bisa berupa zikir, shalawat, doa dan untaian-untaian hikmah sebagai pembimbing mereka dalam menjalani suluk di lingkungan TQN. Sedangkan pemahaman dan pengamalan mereka terhadap ungkapan-ungkapan itu telah ditentukan dalam ritual tarekat secara tertib, rinci dan ketat.Kata Kunci: Bahasa Sufistik, Tarekat Qadiriyah wa NaqsyabandiyahPonpes Darussalam

Abstract

Artikel ini hendak menjawab dua persoalan krusial terkait identitasorang sasak: pertama, apakah inti identitas orang sasak sekaligus unsur-unsurpembentuknya; kedua, bagaimana mekanisme pengetahuan dan perilakupada masyarakat sasak. Jawaban dari dua soal ini sangat penting sebagaipijakan suku bangsa sasak untuk meraih masa depan yang lebih baik. Penelitiandilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif berjenis penelitian fenomenologis.Penelitian jenis fenomenologis paling cocok untuk tema penelitian tentangidentitas ditambah lagi dengan kenyataan bahwa peneliti adalah orang sasakyang tentu saja menyerap dan merasakan sendiri menjadi orang sasak. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa inti identitas orang sasak adalah agama danadat atau Islam dan tradisi. Tradisi sasak merupakan pengejawantahan dariajaran-ajaran Islam yang selanjutnya membentuk perilaku yang tipikal bagimasyarakat sasak yaitu menjadi muslim taat yang berbudaya tinggi pada saatyang sama.

Abstract

This article aimed to describe three focuses: first, how sounds oflanguage signify its meaning; second, how composition of sounds correspondsto the composition of meaning; and third, what are the proofs that the soundsof al-Qur’an verses compose its meanings. Research approach of this articleis qualitative approach using library research. Based on phonological andsemantic studies, this research concludes that the relation between wordsand its meaning in Arabic is natural relation; sounds of al-Qur’an thereforeindicates its meaning; and it can be proofed by analysing al-Qur’an fromphonological and semantic perspective
