Abstract

Perbedaan budaya antara pendatang dengan hostculture sering memunculkan konflik. Kompetensi komunikasi antarbudaya akan muncul ketika masing-masing pihak yang menjalin kontak atau interaksi dapat meminimalkan kesalahpahaman budaya yaitu usaha mereduksi perilaku etnosentris, prasangka, dan stereotip. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kompetensi komunikasi antarbudaya pendatang dan hostculture. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam dengan empat orang mahasiswa pendatang maupun empat orang hostculture. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teori ketidakpastian dan kecemasan, t eori kompetensi komunikasi antarbudaya, teori interaksi adaptasi budaya.Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan dalam melihat kompetensi komunikasi antarbudaya dari mahasiswa pendatang maupun hostculture harus melalui dari beberapa poin penting yaitu melihat dari motivasi, pengetahuan dan kecakapan. Berdasarkan hasil dilapangan diketahui bahwa terdapat faktor-faktor yang terkait dengan kompetensi komunikasi antar budaya dari pendatang diantaranya kurangnya inisiatif dalam membaur dengan lingkungan, kurangnya informasi yang berkaitan dengan lingkungan baru yang menjadi daerah tujuan, sulitnya menyesuaikan perilaku yang sering dilakukan di daerah asal dengan norma yang berlaku di masyarakat. Sedangkan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kompetensi komunikasi antarbudaya dari hostculture diantaranya persepsi hostculture tentang penampilan pendatang mempengaruhi motivasi berkomunikasi dengan pendatang. Kurangnya pengetahuan tentang kebiasan buruk dari pendatang, kurangnya kemampuan dalam mengelola konflik dengan pendatang.Mahasiswa pendatang dan hostculture menunjukkan bahwa ketika berkomunikasi antarbudaya harus memiliki kompetensi komunikasi antarbudaya seperti motivasi, pengetahuan dan kecakapan. Namun kebanyakan dari pendatang dan hostculture tidak menyadari kemampuan yang dimiliki, Apabila kemampuan sudah dimiliki dan dilaksanakan dengan baik, maka terciptanya kesadaran dalam komunikasi antarbudaya (mindfullness) yang dapat meminimalkan terjadinya konflik yang melibatkan budaya yang berbeda.

Abstract

Smartphone is a device that is currently widely used by people, now many parents start to introduce smartphones to their children. By introducing a smartphone with the right application can provide general knowledge material that more attractive to children so that they can understand the material. The purpose of developing this application is to introduce encyclopaedias in the form of Augmented Reality to the public with the application of technology that can facilitate and attract interest in studying matters relating to plants, animals and vehicles. This study uses the waterfall methodology that includes 5 stages: requirements analysis and definition, system and software design, implementation and unit testing, integration and system testing, operation and maintenance. Vuforia is an application to identify markers that are useful in scanning markers. The results of this application development are applications that can be run on the Android platform that can be used by users as teaching tools and can be used by parents as an introduction to basic materials for their children.Telefon genggam pintar merupakan perangkat yang saat ini banyak digunakan oleh semua kalangan masyarakat. Saat ini sudah cukup banyak orang tua yang mengenalkan telefon genggam pintar (smartphone) kepada anak-anak. Dengan memperkenalkan smartphone dengan aplikasi yang tepat dapat memberikan materi pengetahuan umum yang lebih menarik bagi anak-anak sehingga mereka dapat memahami materi. Tujuan dari pengembangan aplikasi ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan ensiklopedia dalam bentuk Augmented Reality kepada masyarakat dengan penerapan teknologi yang dapat mempermudah dan menarik minat untuk mempelajari hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan tumbuhan, hewan, dan kendaraan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi waterfall yang meliputi 5 tahap: requirement analysis and definition, system and software design, implementation and unit testing, integration and system testing, dan operation and maintenance. Vuforia merupakan aplikasi untuk mengindentifikasi marker yang berguna dalam scanning marker. Hasil dari pengembangan aplikasi ini adalah aplikasi yang dapat dijalankan di platform Android yang dapat digunakan oleh pengguna sebagai perangkat ajar dan dapat dipakai oleh orang tua sebagai pengenalan materi dasar untuk anak-anaknya.

Abstract

Online learning tools are in demand these days since the COVID-19 pandemic, which forces everyone, except for some jobs, to work from home. In this community service event, we use three online tools: Nearpod, PhET, and Desmos. Nearpod is a tool learning which combines learning from videos and simulations, the interactivity of a quiz, and a reward-based learning system. PhET is a collection of lots of STEAM simulations, including some topics in Chemistry and Physics. Desmos is an extension of an online graphing calculator, which also has a quiz feature. We introduce these tools to students in East Jakarta's SMP Negeri 174 Jakarta, which is a public junior high school. As a result, the students are now familiar with online tools that can enhance their experience in learning STEAM topics.

Abstract

The Covid-19 virus pandemic presents new challenges for schoolteachers and students to complete online learning. Educators conduct distance learning so the challenge is the lack of control that can be exercised over students. Engaging in learning is essential to create enthusiasm and interest in learning during online learning. The development of digital technology such as artificial intelligence and Nearpod can be used to create interesting learning that can increase the spirit of learning. This community service was conducted to teachers at SDN Sampay 01 and 02, Cisarua, Jawa Barat. The results of this community service show that the knowledge of teachers of both SDN Sampay 01 and 02 regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence and Nearpod technology increased after the service was held. In addition, the majority of teachers are also more confident with the use of technology in their teaching.

Abstract

Motivation is a crucial factor in education as it stimulates, guides, and channels purposeful behavior driven by biological, emotional, social, and cognitive factors. Motivation can be a key element of a student’s achievement. This study explores the role of motivation in academic achievement and describes a community service program undertaken at SMP Negeri 174 Jakarta.. This initiative aims to motivate students before their final exams by sharing success stories of effective study habits and providing tips for exam preparation. The community service activities commenced in late March 2024 and concluded in May 2024. Over 200 participants, consisting of year-9 students, took part in the event, which began in the morning and lasted for two hours, ending before noon. The majority of the resource persons and the organizers were actively involved in the event preparations. The success of this initiative suggests the potential of similar programs to motivate students in the future.

Abstract

Menulis merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang harus dimiliki peserta didik, kususnya pada mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris. Hanya saja kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menulis descriptive text siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa Inggris masih sangat rendah. Dari permasalahan tersebut, tujuan dari penelitian ini yakni untuk mengertahui peningkatan kemampuan siswa menulis descriptive text setelah belajar menggunakan metode picture and picture. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus penelitian. Setiap siklus penelitian terdiri dari 4 fase, dia ntaranya adalah perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek yang terlibat dalam penelitian ini yakni 36 orang siswa SMK. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian dilakukan dengan Hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa pada kompetensi pengetahuan dan kompetensi menulis dalam proses pembelajaran siklus pertama sebesar 81,80% dan 73,05%. Pada siklus kedua hasil belajar siswa pada kompetensi menulis sebesar 84,02%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode picture and picture dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis descriptive text pada siswa kelas X SMK.

Abstract

UAVs, known as drones, are operated with no onboard pilot. In the last decade, there has been a rapidly growing improvement in the drones pertinency in multiple areas. The use of UAVs has increased in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions. There is a growing need to integrate UAV training into STEM education. Several studies have been conducted on UAVs, and some opportunities could be gained from this area. These opportunities were good to share and discuss with the teachers, and later, teachers could share this with the students. SMP Negeri 174 Jakarta is a community service school partner. A seminar about this UAV, its technology, science, and opportunities was held in this school to disseminate knowledge on how the UAV has become important to pay attention to in the near future.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Petani kecil di Pancoran, Jakarta Selatan menghadapi berbagai kendala, antara lain ketergantungan pada pakan komersial yang mahal, keterbatasan teknologi produksi, minimnya inovasi produk turunan, serta lemahnya kapasitas branding dan pemasaran digital. Kondisi ini membatasi peluang untuk berkembang dan menembus pasar baru.Tujuan: Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendokumentasikan dan menganalisis hasil program optimasi rantai nilai lele di Kelurahan pancoran dengan fokus pada tiga aspek: efisiensi produksi, perubahan struktur biaya melalui substitusi pakan, serta peningkatan kapasitas branding dan pemasaran di kalangan UMKM.Metode: Universitas Sampoerna bekerja sama dengan pemerintah dan kelurahan Pancoran Jakarta Selatan melaksanakan program pengabdian masyarakat pada Juli 2025 dengan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR). Kegiatan melibatkan 30 peserta (20 petani lele, pelaku UMKM, Pihak kelurahan, dan tim universitas). Tahapan program mencakup: (1) pelatihan pembuatan pakan alternatif berbasis limbah roti; (2) bimbingan teknis penggunaan mesin produksi pakan; serta (3) pelatihan branding dan pemasaran digital. Data kami peroleh menggunakan survei yang diberikan saat acara berlangsung.Hasil : Sebanyak 80% peserta mampu memproduksi pakan alternatif secara mandiri dan menurunkan biaya pakan sekitar 25% melalui pemanfaatan pakan alternatif. Selain itu, 60% peserta berhasil menciptakan variasi produk baru, dan 70% memahami strategi branding digital. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kolaborasi antara universitas, pemerintah lokal, dan masyarakat mampu menghasilkan solusi praktis dan berkelanjutan. Program Pancoran ini tidak hanya memperkuat kapasitas petani lele, tetapi juga menawarkan model PkM berbasis circular economy dan inovasi branding digital yang dapat direplikasi di komunitas urban lain di Indonesia.

Abstract

According to the latest data, the financial literacy index in Indonesia stood at 38%. This figure was definitely an improvement compared to previous years, but was still considerably behind compared to the global standard. Taking into account gender disparity in Indonesia, this figure becomes even more abysmal as the financial literacy index for women is substantially lower than men. To solve this problem, a social media knowledge management framework is proposed to structure and disseminate financial knowledge with the purpose of improving the financial literacy index, especially for women, in Indonesia. This knowledge management platform is supported by a financial education program that has been developed based on the characteristics and needs of typical women in Indonesia. To further substantiate the findings of this study, a series of in-depth interviews were conducted with the aim to acquire a better understanding of various aspects of financial literacy from the perspective of women. In total, 13 women who lived in Bandung were chosen as the main subject of this study based on a judgment sampling technique. Encouragingly, more than three-quarter of the respondents were considered to be well-literate. Digging deeper into the data, however, presents a much more nuanced and complicated insight regarding the behavior of the respondents as most of the respondents simultaneously exhibit a very wide range behavior ranging from discipline to carelessness when managing their money.
