Abstract

The public bike-sharing system has a problem where the number of bicycles at the docking station needs to be balanced to ensure system user satisfaction. The usual solution is to distribute bicycles so that system users can still park for locations that are usually full of bicycles or pick up bicycles at locations that normally lack bicycles. The purpose of solving this problem is to get a vehicle route with the total operating costs of the vehicle. The full vehicle operating costs are associated with the full time taken by the vehicle to distribute the bicycle. Besides, there are also penalty fees related to the lack of bikes or parking slots at the time of operation of the public bike-sharing facility. In this study, two variations of the simulated annealing (SA) algorithm were developed to solve the SBRP problem called SA_BF and SA_CF. The data used comes from a Velib bike-sharing system case study in Paris, France. The results of the experiment show that both the SA_BF and SA_CF algorithms succeeded in solving SBRP. This algorithm has an average difference of 2.21% and 0.36% of the Arc-Indexed algorithm (AI) from previous studies in the first dataset. As for the second dataset, Tabu Search algorithm, SA_BF and SA_CF obtained an average difference of 0.65%, 1.08% and 0.38% of the optimal results.

Abstract

Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) is known as an NP-hard problem. It is because CVRP problems are very hard for finding optimal solutions, especially in large instances. In general, the NP-hard problem is difficult to solve in the exact method, so the metaheuristic approach is implemented in the CVRP problem to find a near-optimal solution in reasonable computational time. This research uses the DPSO algorithm for solving CVRP with ten instances of benchmark datasets. DPSO implementation uses tuning parameters with the One Factor at Time (OFAT) method to select the best DPSO parameters. The outcome objective function will be compared with several PSO models proposed in previous studies. Statistical test using One Way Reputed Measure ANOVA is needed to compare algorithm performance. First, ANOVA uses for comparing’s results. Then, ANOVA is also used to test DPSO’s performance compared with DPSO-SA, SR-1, and SR-2 algorithm. The computational result shows that the basic DPSO algorithm not competitive enough with other methods for solving CVRP.

Abstract

One-fourth of Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product or GDP is from the manufacturing industry sector. Indonesia's government has proactively encouraged companies to increase their production capacity to meet the global demands, leading to strong demand for employees to work harder, affecting the workers' health. Overwork is often associated with fatigue, stress, and various health problems. Moreover, stress due to excessive work is a general problem many industries face and frequently influences workers' performance. Therefore, this research intends to examine the relationship between work stress and workers' performance, particularly in the manufacturing industry in Indonesia. The sample data are collected from ninety-three workers at the staff level across various companies in the manufacturing sector. The relationships between the determining factors and the Employee Productivity are evaluated by using the multivariate regression analysis. At the correlation coefficient of 0.972, we found a statistically strong relationship between the work environment and Stress to the workers' performance. The condition of low performance is attributed to the non-standard working hours and low quality of the relationship between colleagues and their superiors. Finally, the research recommends improved management of workers' stress by companies involving the adoption of flexible working hours and better communication between parties via discussion forums and meetings. Therefore, employees will be more motivated to improve work productivity.

Abstract

Abstract The digital signature system has been widely used, especially for document approval activities during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the factors of the sustainability dimension that affect sustainability in using a digital signature system based on the AHP approach. This study uses the AHP method because this method is able to solve problems in an organized framework so that it can take a decisions effectively and accurately on a research problem. The results of this study indicate that the sub-criteria for continuous improvement from the economic dimension is the main priority that supports the sustainability of the digital signature provider business. Furthermore, analyze the selection of digital signature platforms between PrivyID, DigiSign, and Manual Input. Based on the results of the calculation of the three alternatives, the DigiSign platform is the most superior compared to the PrivyID platform and Manual Input. This results are in line with the commitment of the DigiSign platform which makes it easy for users to quickly check pending documents, sign the documents with a high level of security and International standard encryption, and easy to tracking the document status. Meanwhile, electronic signatures made by Manual Input have a very critical weakness, where the electronic signature is not encrypted so it is unable to protect documents from theft of identity data or corporate entities by irresponsible parties.

Abstract

In a distribution problem, designing the right distribution route can minimize the total transportation costs. Therefore, this research aims to design a distribution route that produces a minimal distribution distance by clustering the demand points first. We generated the clustering method to cluster the demand points by considering the proximity among the demand points and the total vehicle capacity. In solving this problem, we are using p-median to determine the cluster and a genetic algorithm to determine the distribution route with the characteristics of the CVRPTW problem. CVRPTW or capacitated vehicle routing problem with time windows is a type of VRP problem where there is a limitation of the vehicle capacity and service time range of its demand point. This research concludes that clustering the demand points provides a better result in terms of total distribution costs by up to 16.26% compared to the existing delivery schedule. The performance of the genetic algorithm shows an average difference of 1.73%, compared to the exact or optimal method. The genetic algorithm is 89.68% faster than the exact method in the computational time.
