Abstract

Market is area where the buying and selling of goods with the seller more than onegood something called the shopping centre traditional market, supermarket, shops, mall,plaza, central trade and others.Research is to give in idea of the characteristics and solid waste management marketand complaint skin irritation on janitor in the traditional market and modern market inMedan city 2013.This research is descriptive with sample janitor which totaled 40 people.The characteristic of respondents in the traditional market Penampungan PusatPasar the most common being a janitor ≥ 26 years: 10 people (45,5%), gender is a man: 13people (59,1%), last high school education: 13 people (59,1%), long work ≥ 1 years: 15people (68,2%), working hour ≥ 5 hours: 22 people (100%), ever had complaints of skinirritation: 8 people (36,4%). The characteristic of respondents in the modern marketBerastagi Supermarket, a janitor at most 15-20 years old: 10 people (55,6%), gender is aman: 13 people (55,6%), last high school education: 18 people (100%), long work ≤ 1years: 17 people (94,4%), working hour ≥ 5 hours: 18 people (100%), never hadcomplaints of skin irritation: 18 people (100%). The market Penampungan Central Marketusing traditional Markets do not waste separation while in the modern market madeBerastagi Supermarket waste separation, between the organic and inorganic waste.Advices to departement of market and department of cleansing to providecounseling and socialization regarding waste management which is right and theimportance of the use of a protective self (APD) while working to janitor both in traditionalmarket Penampungan Central Market and modern market Berastagi Supermarket.Keywords: Characteristis, Solid waste, Skin irritation complaint, Janitors, Traditionalmarket and Modern market.

Abstract

Restaurant is a common business that drug a commerced activity instead for baverages and drinks. In this business, restaurant establish in a building or rent a half building and have several equipment for proceed of producting, service, salesing for baverages and drinks. The purpose of this research is to analize the restaurant differences of maintances system according to quality level (grade A, B, C and Without grade) held on 2013, in Medan 2013, which includes the principles of hygiene sanitation management of foods about food procurement, food storage, food management, the transport of food, food storage, food serving and sanitary facilities available. The type of this research is a descriptive survey to know difference of sanitary management of restaurants according to quality levels (grade A, B and C) on Medan, 2013, using survey technique interview and observation. The sample in this research was 8 restaurants. The result of this research shows that there are differences between higyene and sanitation for food maintances in these places restaurant grade A, B, C, and without grade in Medan 2013. Restaurants grade A, B and C already complete government regulation from PERMENKES No.1098/Menkes/VII/2003, however restaurants without yet complete the regulation. Based on the results of this research are recommended to the health department to always conduct outreach regarding hygienic sanitation of the restaurants. Abstract

Main road is the road that connecting one region with another. Kelurahan Lalang Kecamatan Medan Sunggal road was the gateway for transportation that derived from Deli Serdang, Binjai, Langkat, and other cities to Medan. Transportation activities will generate positive impacts and negative impact. One of the negative impact is in form of air pollution. The research is aimed to know that levels of nitrogen dioxide ( NO2 ) and particulate matter ( PM10 ) air ambient and cadger health complaints along Kelurahan Lalang Kecamatan Medan Sunggal road in 2014. The type of research is descriptive. The sample in this research are 45 persons using proportional stratified random sampling. The result showed that the most respondents was 40 - 50 years ( 42,2 % ), most were gender female ( 55,6 % ), respondent who smoking ( 33.3 % ). Respondents has traded >10 years ( 64,4 % ) and respondents has traded < 12 hours per day ( 95.6 % ). Based on the measurement result, the highest levels is 40,97 µg/Nm3 for NO2 dan 121 µg/Nm3 for PM10. A number of 33 cadger who have complaints of the respiratory tract disorders and as much as 23 cadger who have complaints of eye irritation. The conclusion of this research is the level of NO2 and PM10 along Kelurahan Lalang Kecamatan Medan Sunggal road not exceeding from the limit of quality standards. Advised to cadger to use self protective when trading and put the plants that can absorb dust as preventive efforts. Keywords: main road, levels of NO2 and PM10, health complaints

Abstract

Measles is an infectious disease highly marked by virus and it may result in a more serious complication, very potential to cause to spread epidemic. In Indonesia, for 2004 nationally, the frequency existing an extra-ordinance occurrence of the Measles itself got on the second rank following DHF with total cases noted 2,818 and caused 44 death or CFR rate of 1.56%. The environment is known as one of factors that it may increase spreading out the measles. The objective of this study is to determine the correlations of the house environmental and the immunisation stated against the occurrence of measles at Desa Hutaimbaru Kecamatan Barumun Kabupaten Padang Lawas for 2013. This study adopted a descriptive survey method with Cross sectional design. The population to this research involved all families living around Desa Hutaimbaru 78 households, the population is 316 people. The sample on this research taken such as family with kids as children five years old and in school aged, included 40 households. Analyzed by uni-variant and bi-variant analysis using Chi Square test. The result of study indicated that there is a correlation on available ventilation with the measles (p = 0.011) and there is correlations between the measles immunisation stated with the measles disease (p = 0.0001). Regarding variable on crowded in people density and about lighting by ventilation has no correlation with the measles on the area. It is suggestible to the local community living around Desa Hutaimbaru, urged to improve the condition of houses environment, to recondition the environmental around at least fulfill the health requirement, still the authority should encourage the parents bring those kids to have immunization in measles preferable while age 6-59 months old and to all kids as going school to SD grade 1 through 6. Abstract

ABSTRAC Kampung Padang village is one of the villages in the Panyabungan district are endemic Malaria with AMI (Annual Malaria Incidence) of 29.21 ‰ and API (Annual Parasite Incidence) of 63.41 ‰. Incidence of malaria caused by human contact with malaria mosquitoes and supported by the housing and unfavorable environmental conditions. The purpose of this study to know the relationship of the characteristics of respondents and the physical environmental factors on the incidence of malaria in the Kampung Padang village Panyabungan of District Mandailing Natal of Subdistrict. This research was conducted with non parametric methods of analysis with Case Control design. The total sample of 85 heads of families consisting of 35 cases and 50 controls. Data were analyzed with non-parametric analysis methods of analysis with Chi Square test. The results obtained that there is a relationship of the education  (p = 0,009, OR = 0,304: 95% CI = 0,124-0,750), employment (p = 0,001),, social cultural, wire gauze on ventilation (p = 0.001), lagit-sky home (p = 0,001, OR = 0,135: 95% CI = 0,051-0,358), wall density (p = 0,001, OR = 0,160: 95% CI = 0,059-0,439), humidity (p = 0,001, OR = 5,608: 95% CI = 2,152-14,611) and lighting (p = 0,007, OR = 3,656: 95% CI = 1,394-9,592)on the incidence of malaria. It is suggested to health department to educate the community particulary Malaria disease. This can be done through socialization with PKK, IHC, or community health center and should increase the activity PJB (Larva Monitoring Periodic) in each home or in public places such as schools, mosques, markets, terminals, and raised his interpreter monitors larvae and for the people should pay attention to the cleanliness of the environment. Abstract

ABSTRACT Sipange Julu Villages is one of villages in District Sayur Matinggi regency of Tapanuli Selatan. Sipange Julu villages have low family latrine ownership is only equal to 19,0 % of the 184 heads of families living in the village. Research conducted aimed to determine the characteristics (level of education and income levels) and the relationship between the respondents' level of knowledge, attitudes, habits of respondents and the role of health officer to the ownership family latrine in the village. Types of analytic study with a cross sectional study design. Respondents in this study is the head of the family who resides in the village of Sipange Julu totaling 63 people . Though the data obtained in using the chi square test and Fisher's exact. The results obtained that there is a relationship between the role of health officer (p= 0.040 (p< 0.05)) with the family latrine ownership and there is no relationship between the level of knowledge (p= 0.082 (p< 0.05)), attitude (p= 0.741 (p> 0.05)) and habits (p= 0.486 (p> 0.05)) of respondents with family latrine ownership. It is recommended that conducted cross-sectoral cooperation between government, health centers and other related sectors with the community to raise a family in the village latrine coverage Sipange Julu, enhance the role of health officer in raising public awareness about the importance of family latrines and sanitary latrines eligible family health, and the need further research on other factors relating to the ownership of the family latrine with a variable that has not been investigated in this study and different respondent. Keywords: Family Latrine Ownership

Abstract

Production Waste and The Waste Management System in Lingkungan  IX Kelurahan Tegal Sari 1 Kecamatan Medan Area in 2014. Waste is any materials unused and rejected as worthless or unwanted, useless or profitless activity, expanding and consuming thoughtlessly or carelessly. Increased activity and human population impact to will give negative health effects which cause environmental degradation. The main purpose of this research  to know the production waste and the waste management in Lingkungan IX Kelurahan Tegal Sari 1 Kecamatan Medan Area .  The research used descriptive survey method and the population was whole household. Sampling was done with a total sampling method ie all households totaling 64 households. Measurement of waste production is done in household by way of weighing the waste for 8 consecutive days. Total waste production obtained is 2.476 litter of 64 households with a head count as many as 243 people or 2,5 m3 . in Lingkungan IX the production waste is 2,5 m3, it’s mean that Lingkungan IX need 1 unit a transporting waste carts so that all the waste can be better. As a result, the average waste production per day was 1,27 Liter / person / day. The resulted of this research  showed that people in Lingkungan IX Kelurahan Tegal Sari 1 Kecamatan Medan Area already has most of the area where waste disposal (96.9%) and the waste disposal have not a close (79,7%). Therefore, the goverments is expected to give more attention and  proper waste management system. Medan City Sanitation Department is expected to add tools such as transporting waste carts, adding janitor and provide information to the community and the janitor better waste management. Abstract

ABSTRACT Aedes aegypti often cause health problems, especially dengue disease. To control its population were used insecticides. However, the use of chemical insecticides cause many problems. As we know,  Aedes aegypty is the main vector of dengue disease. Today there is no effective way to overcome the dengue disease, because until today have not found the drugs effective anti-dengue virus and a vaccine that can protect themselves from dengue virus infection. One way to combating dengue vector control is by using synthetic insecticides. There are two major categories of insecticides which is often used as a household insecticide, and they are the insecticide which is used to kill insects and insecticides which is  function to repel the insects. Therefore, it is necessary insecticides safer alternatives for the environment, one of them is by using the kecombrang flower extracts  (Etlingera elatior). The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of kecombrang flower extract as reppelent of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. This study was a quasi-experimental study with a completely randomized design (CRD). Kecombrang flower extract concentration used was 0% (control), 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5%. From the research, the best concentration is 5% the number of mosquitoes which was away  is  19. One Way ANOVA test 30 menute observation, it is known that the number of mosquitoes which away, there is differences in effectiveness significantly between kecombrang flower extracts as reppelent of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes with value of p (0.000) < 0.05, 60 menute observation, there is no differences in effectiveness significantly between kecombrang flower extracts as reppelent of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes with value of p (0.542) > 0.05, Based on this research it can be concluded that the kecombrang flower extract was effective as an  reppelent and killed Aedes aegypti mosquito effectively. Abstract

Sanitary processing and examination taperworm larvae in dog meats in restaurants around padang bulan simpang selayang medan 2013. Various microorganisem can cause disease in humans,either directly or through the intermediaries of the animal (zoonoses),from the class cestoda are parasitic zoonoses including the Echinococcus granulosus transmitted by dog meat which can cause hidaditosis in humans. This study aims to determine the condition of the dog meat hygiene sanitary processing and analyzing the content of larval tapeworm ( Echinococus granulosus ) in dog meat served in restaurant around Padang Bulan Simpang Selayang Medan. The examination conducted in the Laboratory Medilab with muscle compression method and digestive muscles. Results of the study showed that the sanitation principles restourant roast B1 Padang Bulan Simpang Selayang Medan not meet health requirements in accordance with Kepmenkes RI No. 942 / Menkes / SK / VII / 2003 on the principle of processing, keeping, transport, and presentation of meat. At six raw meat samples examined there were two positive samples of raw meat containing tapeworm larvae, after being continued to muscle method, known tapeworm larvaes are still infective. While the meat samples were baked half-cooked and baked until cooked perfectly, there are no larval tapeworms. To break the chain of worm infection in dogs, needs to improve the quality of environment sanitation communities around the residence, and provide good feed for dogs cooked. Besides that dog meat to consumers to cook until the meat perfectly cooked to be consumed on order to avoid paraditic infection. Keywords : Sanitation, ham, taperworm larvae

Abstract

ABSTRACT Critical control point food in PT. Kreasi Lutvi aims to ensure food safety system that guarantine clean and safe to eat, so avoid poisoning or diseases such as diarrhea, cholera, dysentry, baccillary, typhoid, fever and soon. The aims of this research to know the critical control point, hygiene, sanitation, phsycal due dilligent as well as food additives in PT. Kreasi Lutvi. The object research in PT. KL Tuntungan II Deli serdang. The method usedi s description to see an overview of sanitation hygiene, critical control point, as well as the physical feasbility of food additives in PT. Kreasi Lutvi. The result of this study indicate that the critical control points in the overall food processing in PT.Kreasi Lutvi a critical control point. So also in the hygiene and sanitation as well as a whole not meet the health requirements in accordance with a qualified health based on Permenkes RI. No.1096/Menkes/PER/VI/2011. That a qualified health if the total score 83. The conclusion of this study is the 6 principles of hygiene and sanitation of food processing do not meet the health requirements, as well as the critical control point which is in a critical control point in the stages of food processing as well as the physical feasibilty test notyet meet health requirements on food additives, too based on the results it is expected that PT.Kreasi Lutvi to further improve sanitation facilities to support hygiene and sanitation of food processing and medical attention handlers so that a very small possibility of contamination of the food.
