Abstract

The number of illegal immigrants in Indonesia continues to increase from year to year. In 2019, UNHCR Indonesia has recorded as many as 13,900 illegal immigrants registered as asylum seekers. Tanjungpinang City is one of the areas targeted for the entry of illegal immigrants because the busy Riau Islands sea route is used for international trade flows. Therefore, this study will examine the role of the Tanjungpinang City government towards illegal immigrants in 2016-2019.This study used qualitative research methods. Sources come from books, journals, official documents and official websites from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Directorate General of Immigration, and the Immigration Detention Center as well as interviews with related agencies. This study uses a pluralist perspective with the level of analysis of the state and nation. The theory used is the role theory of K.J Holsti.This study explains how the role of the Tanjungpinang City government in dealing with illegal immigrants in their area in 2016-2019. In carrying out government affairs with the principle of regional autonomy, the Tanjungpinang City Government forms a Pora Team and coordinates with relevant agencies in the field of supervision and temporary shelter as well as the security of illegal immigrants.Keywords: Government Role, Indonesian Policy, illegal immigrant, Asylum Seeker.

Abstract

This research describe about the interest of United State bringing China’s anti dumping duties into court on automotive product to World Trade Organization (WTO). China raised import duties on United State automotive product by up to 30%, which caused companies to feel disadvantage.   The study was prepared using the protection theory by Friedrich List, concept national interest, the Mercantilism perspective, which is then supported by nation-state analysis level. The methodology using a qualitative method and collecting the data using a library research literature.This research shows the united State’s bringing China anti-dumping duties into court is for national interest. That is to protect its automotive company to export automotive product from disadvantage. And to protect its credibility as one of the biggest country to exporting products.  Key Words: Protectionism, Anti-Dumping, Countervailing Duties, World Trade Organization, Dispute Settlement Body.

Abstract

This research explains how activism efforts of Transnational Advocay Network conducted by several Malaysian local NGOs and international NGOs that seeks to dismiss a proprietary installation project Lynas Corporation in Kuantan, Malaysia. This movement considers that the actions taken by the Government of Malaysia is not appropriate for allowing the operation of one of the Lynas refinery Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP).Lynas is considered detrimental to the environment and public health around because the radioactive waste produced by the manufacturer. New York Times article also sensitize local communities to stop the LAMP. Local NGOs such as Save Malaysia Stop Lynas and other coalition groups continue to campaign to pressure the government not to grant operating licenses over these companies, they seek to enlist the support of the international community to form a coalition together with international NGOs such as Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth Australia to build up pressure from international community against the Malaysian government to immediately stop the Lynas in Kuantan.Keywords: Transnational Advocacy Network, Non-Govermental Organization, human security, rare-earth, radioactive waste

Abstract

Currently, about 40% of the electricity generated around the world still comes from coal-fired power plants. Including Bali is known as the largest tourism area in Indonesia. PLTU Celukan Bawang Bali is a coal-fired power plant that has resulted in various socio-economic, environmental and health impacts that harm citizens. Coal burning is the largest source of Green House Gas (GHG) gas emissions, which triggers climate change. These energy sources will exacerbate air quality in Bali and threaten public health, as well as the tourism industry in Bali. Greenpeace as a caring organization began to highlight environmental issues in this area.The purpose of the study is to understand how the role of one international organization in achieving their goal to provide assistance in particular environmental issues. This research theoretically has built with green thought perspectives on International Relations and supported by International Organization theory T.may Rudi and Role Theory. Formulation of all arguments, facts, and theoretical framework on this research is guided by qualitative explanation methods. Technique in this research is through by the study of library. Data which is gotten and collected through the journal books, the last thesis and then from internet has related to the problems.            Researcher has formulated answered-hypothesis whic reveals the fact that Greenpeace's efforts to overcome the impact of environmental damage due to the operation of PLTU Celukan Bawang through the campaign "Reject PLTU Celukan Bawang" and advocacy by carrying out a lawsuit to the government with some direct protest action such as Social media campaign, mural, also filed a lawsuit in Denpasar Bali Administrative Court. Keywords : Efforts, Greenpeace, Environmental Damage, PLTU, Celukan Bawang

Abstract

This study is an international political economy study discussing ASEAN Power Grid (APG) cooperation in increasing electrical resilience in Indonesia. This study aims to identify and impact APG cooperation in improving the electrical resistance of Indonesia. Indonesia is one of the countries with the largest electricity consumption in the world and number 1 in southeast asia. Where electricity becomes a basic necessity in everyday life as well as in the development of the country.APG is a cooperation formed by all ASEAN members to improve electrical security and connect electricity to all member countries, as electricity becomes one of the basic needs that its availability is needed, APG also become a forum for private parties in improving the economy and also help the country in selling electricity supply, as well as a motivator for each country to improve domestic electrical resistance.the increase of electrical resistance which is the objective of APG cooperation, requires Indonesia to cooperate with neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Singapore to implement the principal of cooperation is the buying and selling of electricity through transmission lines built together based on MoU APG.In this case the authors use Noe-liberalism perspectives, supported by the theory of international cooperation and the concept of role and level of corporate analysis as an actor. Abstract

This study attempts to outline anything program-program undp in legalising lgbt marriage in china.And also will explain how program-program undp in legalising lgbt marriage in china.The methodology used is qualitative study.This study focused to talk about the role in the United Nations DeveopmentProgram ( UNDP ) legalising lgbt in the country tiongkok. Second, researchers feel the need to give time limit to phenomena or problem to check such as in 2014-2016This research use a pluralism perspective and international organizations theory. Abstract

This study aims to determine how the Partnership Between Indonesia – Norway through Reducing Carbon Emissions. The objects of this study is the West Kalimantan forest, REDD scheme and the cooperation between Indonesia – Norway. Researchers are trying to understand and analyze the forest damage in Indonesia and the role of REDD in an effort to minimize the damage.This study used qualitative research type. The research method used is descriptive analysis techniques. Most of the data collected through the literature, searching websites, and interviews. Those data were analyzed by theory approach based on International Relations, Foreign Policy, International Cooperation, International Agreement, and Environmental.The results of this study indicate that the cooperation between Indonesia – Norway through the REDD scheme is poured into the form of a Letter of Intent (LoI) agreed on three phases in order to save West Kalimantan’s forest despite undergoing a new stage in the first phase, this cooperation has resulted although not significantly.Keywords : Environmental, REDD, Indonesia, Norway, West Kalimantan’s Forest

Abstract

This research aims to explain factors influence the fluctuation of Indonesian natural rubber export to China in 2012-2016 Rubber is one of the crops that has an important role in the economic activities in Indonesia. Rubber is one of the prominent export commodities in the country, besides oil and gas. This research uses a export theory, liberalism perspective, which is then supported by nation-state analysis level. The methodology using a qualitatve method and collecting the data using a library research literature.The results of this study are the occurrence of fluctuations in Indonesian rubber exports to Tiongkok which are influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors are domestic rubber prices and the level of domestic rubber production. Meanwhile, the internal factor are the international price of rubber, the exchange rate of the rupiah against the Chinese yuan, the gross domestic product of Tiongkok, the International Tripartite Rubber Council (ITRC) policy and the level of rubber consumption in Tiongkok.  Keywords: Exports, Liberalism Perspective, Fluctuations, Natural Rubber

Abstract

ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) is one of a constantly reported troop in international mass media since 2014. CNN (Cable News Network) is a mass media that incessantly publish news coverage on ISIS. ISIS portrayed as new threat to the world as it is a transnational organized crime. News coverage on ISIS brought a certain identity to its. This research aims to describe how CNN international by it coverage portray ISIS as transnational organized crime.This research use Constructivism perspective, mass media's role theory and Agenda setting concept to analyze and describe itself. Content analysis and news context from CNN online news coverage will also be used in order to prove the hypothetical answer. Level of analysis in this research is in Agent and Structure level and focuses in describing CNN roles in ISIS coverage.Mass media's role and function in news coverage and in the world, ISIS development, and news construction from CNN to ISIS as a new threat to international security are described as well in this researach. Abstract

Mexico is one of the leading hot spot for sexual exploitation of children. ECPAT as NGO which fights against sexual exploitation of children have some role in cases of child prostitution in Mexico. Based on the high level of child prostitution in Mexico and ECPAT have some role in that cases, the authors conducted a study to find out some role that ECPAT done for this child sexual exploiations case.This study use a constructivist perspective and international organizations theory. This study also includes the concept of human rights as the point of view of the theme of this study.The result of this research is ECPAT have been doing some cooperation with government and company in mexico as it’s effort to handle child prostitution cases.Keywords: ECPAT, Mexico, CSEC (Commercial Sexual Exploitations of Children), Child Prostitution
