Abstract

This study discusses refugees who have been stranded in a transit country for years. These protracted refugees have to deal with a reality that the chance of getting resettlement in a third country has become slim, and the option of returning to their country of origin will only jeopardize their lives. Indonesia is not a state party to the 1951 Refugee Convention that lays a responsibility to assimilate refugees in the resettlement countries. Indonesia, however, has opened its door for refugees based on humanity’s solidarity and the fact that Indonesia’s legal framework on human rights acknowledges the right to seek asylum in other countries and abides by the non-refoulement principle. The situation has become problematic when the number of refugees coming to Indonesia has continued to increase, but Indonesia does not have a comprehensive refugee policy to support them. By looking at the case of refugees living in Pekanbaru, this study concludes that Indonesia should consider the local integration option as one of the viable solution to the protracted refugee situations in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to explain, out government policies in developing the tourism sector of Sawahlunto City and the efforts made to increase Malaysian And dutch Tourist in the city of Sawahlunto. Sawahlunto is a city in the province of west sumatra that has historical tourism dutch heritage. With the existence of historical tourism that is still maintained, it becomes an atrraction for tourist.This research uses the Perspective of Globalization, the level of analysis of nation states, Theory of Public Policy and the concept of international tourism. The method used is a qualitative research method. This analysis is based on data obtained from literature studies and field studies by conducting interviews directly with informants who are considered capable of providing information regarding the problem under study.The results of the research in this paper are that in visiting of Malaysian And dutch Tourist to Sawahlunto City has increased from 2013-2017. The increase in foreign tourist visits is inseparable from the policies of the central government and regional governments that are mutually sustainable. One of the efforts promotion in Netherlands, cooperation between Sawahlunto and Malaka, carried out was by carrying out international events, promoting Sawahlunto as a world cultural heritage, and increasing tourism support facilities.Keyword : Sawahlunto, Malaysian, Dutch, Foreign Tourists, Tourism, Government Policy, Tourism Promotion.

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze cultural diplomacy that explains Indonesia’s participation in the Europalia festival in Belgium. Cultural diplomacy is a category of soft diplomacy in the implementation of a country’s foreign policy. Cultural instruments used by Indonesia in the implementation of diplomacy through Europalia can refclet the identity of the Indonesian state namely Bhineka Tunggal Ika.This study uses constructivist perspectives by Alexander Wendt, the analysis unit of the nation state and uses the theory of diplomacy by S.L Roy, and supported by the concept of multitrack diplomacy by Louise Diamond and John W McDonald's uses track 1 (Government), track 2 (Actor non-government) and track 9 (Media). And then the concept of cultural diplomacy by Tulus Warsito dan Wahyuni Kartikasari.The research shows that the Indonesian Europalia festival stole the attention of many Belgian and European citizens. Seen from the number of visitors or viewers who reached thousands of people at the festival. Increased knowledge and interest in Indonesian culture can attract Belgian citizens to visit Indonesia. Indonesian cultural diplomacy at the Europalia festival cam convey cultural values well. So that the cooperative relationship between Indonesia and Belgium can continue to increase. Abstract

This study discusses the interests of Indonesia Extend Cooperation With PT. Freeport Indonesia Year 2017. First Working Contract is from 196 7 until August 2017. Freeport is a mining company from the United States that manages Gold, Metals and Copper (molybdenum). Starting from the mountains of Papua, Indonesia, to the deserts of the Southwest of the United States, the magnificent volcano in Peru, the traditional copper-producing region of Chile and new opportunities in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This study used qualitative research methods. Describing the research by collecting data from various sources from books, journals, and the internet, then collected into a study. The theory used in this research is the theory of national interest according to Donald E. Nucherlain. The results of this study conclude that the interests of Indonesia extend cooperation with PT.Freeport Indonesia is sebai follows: The first legal basis that can be used is a contract of work but after the renewal will be converted into a special permit Business License. The Second Divestment of PT. Freeport Indonesia of 51% for Indonesian ownership, Third construction of refining facility or smelter for five years or not later than 2022, unless there is condition of Force Majeur. Abstract

Illegal logging plays a role in the destruction of forests around the world and affects the people who live in them and rely on forest-generated resources. The European Union is one of the largest consumers of wood products in the world. As the biggest consumer, the EU has finally entered into an agreement with their wood supplying country with the FLEGT-VPA project which is expected to overcome illegal logging cases. This study uses a Pluralism perspective which focuses on the analysis of the International Organization level and the theory of international cooperation. Using the theory of international cooperation, this study aims to reveal the implementation of the Forest Law Enforcement Governance Trade-Voluntary Partnership Agreement (FLEGT-VPA) Project in Vietnam by the European Union. This study explains that the FLEGT-VPA project has strategic value obtained by the European Union and partner countries, for example in this case is Vietnam. The implementations carried out by the European Union in this project include Preparation of the VPA Implementation Structure, Development of a Legality Assurance System, Public Information Disclosure Mechanism, Independent Joint Evaluation of the Timber Legality Assurance System, FLEGT Licensed Timber Exports and European Union Border Control, and Monitoring the impact of this project. This implementation is still ongoing and can be said to be good, supported by regulations published by the Vietnamese government. Keywords: FLEGT-VPA, Implementation, European Union, Vietnam.

Abstract

This paper is a Bilateral Trade study that provides analysis of the cooperation of two countries in the fulfillment of needs and achieve their nasl interests. This research focused on the fluctuation of export CPO Indonesia to india after ratification AIFTA. Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is the result of processed pulp of palm fruits as vegetables oil which is needed as the world largest producer of palm oil contributes 51% to the world’s palm oil demand and engages in esxport to varioud countries including India.This paper uses a conceptual basis, with the concept of international cooperation where here international cooperation is formed because of international life covering various fields such as ideology,politics, economy,social culture, environment and security defense.Supported by National Nation’s analysis level and liberalism perspective. The concept leads to qualitative methds and field studies and is assisted by literature studies as a source of information. The cooperation carried out by ASEAN with India provides significant benefits for Indonesia's CPO exports. Abstract

This study aims to know the role within cooperation between EDSA or also called the European Down Syndrome Association with  DS-InfoCenter or Deutches Down Syndrome Info Center and how is this cooperation giving an impact to the quality of life for Down Syndrome carrier in Germany.            The research method  used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with constructivist perspective. In the process of collecting research data, the author uses direct observation as well as live interviews conducted on site and documentary studies obtained from printed  media such as books and journals, as well as online media such as sites and videos.             Through research conducted and data processing conducted by the authors, there are 3 roles produced by EDSA and DS-Infocenter in improving the quality of life of people with down syndrome in Germany. As an instrument, EDSA works closely with Ds-infocenter in terms of facilities. As an arena, EDSA and Ds-infocenter became a forum for expert meetings. Abstract

Military agression between Israelis and Palestinians has caused destruction in every aspect such as education, economic, health and etc.  Therefore, a number of non-state organizations have provided vital assistance to the conflict victims in Gaza Strip, one of Non-Governental Organization that has been actively conducting humanitarian aid to the victims in Gaza Strip is MER-C which is an NGO engaged in humanitarian medical emergency, ensuring reliability,independency, and neutrality in their work.  This study uses a qualitative method to describe humanitarian issue that takes place in Gaza Strip in 2009 to 2014 and to discuss the MER-C Indonesia’s progress in carrying out their roles as a humanitarian act in Gaza Strip. In order to analyse this case, this study uses Non-Governmental Organization Theory and Pluralism approach.The findings of this study resulted in several things, namely that MER-C Indonesia is a humanitarian actor and execute their roles as an executor, a catalyst, and a partner. As an executor, MER-C provides large amount of aid needed to the victims. As a catalyst, MER-C widely hold a number of activities namely holding socialization and conducting advocacy. Lastly, MER-C work on existential strategy as a partner by using information politics and building hospitals that carried out by MER-C resulting in an outstanding influence and positive impact to the government of Indonesia and to the affected area in need for relief assistance which in this case is the Gaza Strip in Palestine.  Keywords : NGO, MER-C, Conflict, Humanitarian Crisis, Gaza.

Abstract

The development of the fashion world continues to increase, starting from technology and media so that various modes and styles as well as clothing are also social symbols so as to provide a cultural identity to someone. Regarding the aim of the study to find out which developments in fashion hijab in Indonesia, find out IFC (Indonesian Fashion Chamber) in realizing Indonesia as the "The Fashion Muslim Center Of The World 2025", and explain how to explore surly Muslim communities export hijab and to learn and explain done by Indonesian Hijab designers in penetrating foreign markets. The research conducted is qualitative research, with the research method used is descriptive research method that is the research method that addresses the objectives in the field then proceed with interpretation of data in order to explain or analyze the problem being sought. Methods this study aimed to describe or explain the events and occurrences that exist at the present time. This method is a method which seeks to collect, collate, interpret the data that was submitted by analyzing these data or analyzes of the phenomenon as well as a method of examining an object, a condition, a system of thought or a class of events in the present. In realizing Indonesia as a fashion hijab center in the world, IFC joined the government in carrying out various kinds of efforts, both internal and external. Starting from improving the quality of the fashion industry, developing and enhancing brands, holding events to improve hijab clothing, participating in trade events, to establish cooperation with Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, holding international events that provide assistance supported by the Indonesian government.Keywords: Export, Fashion Hijab, IFC, The Fashion Muslim Center of The World

Abstract

This research aims to explain foreign policy of United States under President Donald Trump toward North Korea Nuclear program. The research uses the Perspective of Conctructivism that emphasize the intersubjectivity (shared understandings) between states in their relations. The level-analysisof this research is nation-states which find that the foreign policy as manifestation of the national interest of the nation as an international actor. Theory of foreign policy that use in this research notice to explain the foreign policy as the strategy and determination in respond to international environment. This research is also supported by the concept of national identitity and interest as the measurements to act or respond which is reflected in foreign policyThe method used in this research from the measurement of the data is qualitative research method, and from the way of processing data is descriptive method. Futhermore, the technique of data analysis is based on data from literature studies with the consideration that the data is capable in providing information regarding the problem under research.The results of the research explains that the United States’ Foreign Policy under president Trump toward North Korea is based on the Strategic Accountability policy through Maximume Pressure Campaign that exert international community supports, mainly United Nations Security Council.Keyword : Foreign Policy, National Identity, National Interest, Strategic Accountability, Maximume Pressure Campaign, and Nuclear Program.
